Robianco Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Ha! That's what happens when a man tries to multitask!, Joker obviously! I've got the Riddler set and the Batcopter... I'll probably make 2 trips to get a couple of the MM figs and sell one. That GL figure is almost identical to a Christo custom I have. Looks like those Chinese customs of the Comic Con are the best way to pick that fig up and replace the hair and legs with official Lego versions. Quote

Zergos Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 (edited) Is canada included in the countries to get mm promo in march? Edited February 21, 2014 by Zergos Quote
Sam892 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Do we know if the Martian Manhunter minifig offer from the LEGO store is coming to the UK for March yet?? Am holding out before moving on any Superhero sets until then hoping so..... Ye it's on the March store calendar. Also in the UK it's £50 for MM and it's across all sets not just superheroes Quote
The Brigante Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 This may sound stupid, but does anyone know if it has to be bang on £50? I want to get MM and am thinking of picking up the Hulk Lab Smash to get him. Would I need to get another set (probably the trike set) or would the cost of the Hulk set (£49.99) be enough? Quote

These promotions pretty much always require the exact amount or more, before shipping is figured in. Prolly gonna have to tag on the trike set (or anything else, really). Quote

TheLegoDr Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 ^a CMF or keychain or something cheap should cover it. I mostly just want the figures, but normally it does end up being about the same cost as bricklinking the figures separately vs the whole set brand new. Odd how that works. I'd rather have all of the bricks for 5-10$ more than just the figures alone. Quote

Ye it has to be £50 or more £49.99 won't be enough. I usually get a Key ring or a Minfigure to push it over £49.99. Sometimes I'll even grab a small pick a brick cup or something. Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 It looks like Gamora's sword is the Blackbeard rambo sword! Quote
Hrafnblod Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Doesn't p&p push it over? Promotional items are always done by total before shipping and handling (which I assume p&p is the equivalent of, considering the context I've seen it in). Combined with "xx.99" pricing it's pretty much structured to make you not spend -exactly- the right amount. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Riddler's got a Steam Roller too? They must be popular! I'm sure it's worth it, though. I plan to get it next month. I like the Batplane. It doesn't look too bad. But you can always look at Lego.com reviews for the set. It has a 5-star rating last I checked. They were on sale :P Quote

Suspsy Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Just to clarify: it doesn't have to be just Super Heroes Lego to get MM, yes? Any Lego will do? Quote

Numbuh1Nerd Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 So I was in the toy department at my local Wal-Mart today and checked out the Captain America 2 action figures. I thought "Here we go! This'll be great! We'll get a female superhero and a black superhero finally!" and was immediately disappointed. This line-up included strictly Captain America in his light blue costume, Captain America in his new costume without a mask on, the Winter Soldier, aaaaaaand... Red Skull! The villain of the FIRST Captain America film that may or may not be involved in this at all! So apparently the toy company would rather spoil major plot points then add some diversity. I know Lego hasn't been too great on the diversity end of things, given we've seen only 2 female superheroes and no black superheroes from DC (as a matter of fact, DC doesn't have any Lego people of color) and Marvel only doing slightly better with one woman and four black male heroes, with Storm coming this summer. (BTW that number only includes figures made available to the general populous, excluding SDCC exclusives) I was hoping to see a movie Falcon and a new Black Widow with the new film, but that's obviously not going to happen yet. Does this bug all of you as much as it does me? And what female and black characters do you think we're likely to see soon/you'd like to see soon? Quote
CustomJoe_MD Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 (edited) That's an old reliable topic. There have been some efforts for diversification in general with the licenses (we even got blue skin black folk now in ELECTRO kinda (I know not the movie fig- but close), some starwars multicoloreds folks too - green skin anyone) It will happen. Lone ranger gave us finally some Native americans in more realist colors (before it was only yellow heads - and thats not a tribe btw) So the only pale faces issue is slowly getting there. And the first Captain America was looking a bit sunburned there too To me the lady figs is a bigger issue. "More females Me wants" they can be purple for all I care just, more XX chromossomes please. Since they(TLG and Marvel) adore Wolverine give us Laura (X23), that checks the "girl" and "claws" little box just great. Edited February 22, 2014 by CustomJoe_MD Quote

The sets aren't based on the movies, they're based on the cartoon (Avengers Assemble). Although, (SPOILERS) Red Skull will appear in The Winter Soldier . Quote

eldiano Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 So I really have no interest in buying a lego figure, but I have like 200vip points... Last time I went to a lego store and bought like 300 bucks worth of them the clerk was nice to me and gave me a promo bag for every 50.00, now knowing this will sell out quickly I will see if I can barter and get an extra one, but no clue on what other sets to buy... i was hoping the fountain di trevi would be out by then but no luck, and all I buy is super heroe sets. My compulsive impulse shopping spree got the best of me. Then I might have to worry about scalpers selling this promo for like 50.00... FML Quote

Ok so I saw this and kept counting over and over again, and can't figure out who the fourth is? There is Col. James Rhodes (War Machine/Iron Patriot), Sam Wilson (Falcon), and Luke Cage (Power Man). Are you counting Nick Fury as a superhero for a 4th? We're only shy a White Tiger now from the teenage Ultimate Spidey (cartoon) team, so we can hope for a Hispanic female/latina soon :) As for DC ~ I haven't actually read comics in a LOOONG time. Aside from Cyborg and the one version of Green Lantern ARE there any major/popular characters of color? (Not counting Catwoman since she swaps back and forth at random). There really needs to be a lot more people of color since fleshies are becoming the norm with licenses. Quote
Moon_Knight Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Could there be a possibility that a Green Lantern minifig would come with the Lego Movie when it comes out? Then again the LED Green Lantern has a different outfit than the one in the movie. Quote
