Ultron Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Cool! Y'know, MY favorite scene from Avengers was when Cap saved that family. Oh, you don't remember that scene? They filmed it. Then DELETED it. Not saying that's the case here, but it happens all the time. I hope the scene makes it in, but it might not. I'm sure an iron man vs hulk battle will be in the movie. Cap saving a family? Not important. Yeah it could be cut, but seeing as how they had the big hand made for it, they were filming it in Africa (I think) and it has concept art, it's probably going to happen. And is that Quicksilver fighting Ultrons! He's making an army! Multiple Ultrons! Quote
Faefrost Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 That was my original argument, too, and why I wouldn't even want an official Deathstroke personally. They won't print all the way around the side of his head to make it truly half-and-half, which means it would look pretty terrible, but on the other hand there's no way they'll make a headpiece if there's even the flimsiest excuse not to. Do they have the capability to fully print one half of a head? Including half the stud? Someone got a screen cap of the art Character designs for Avengers2 Scarlet Witch/Quicksilver OK now that looks 1000x better than the Fox X-Men DoFP Quicksilver. It's like I don't feel the urge to slap this one, just from looking at him. Quote
Kerberos Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Not a good pic here but this is the hulkbuster prop hand Quote
Suspsy Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 No. He's been wearing something SIMILAR (up until AVX, at least), but still different. He hasn't worn the outfit on the minifigure since the 80s. This is what's called splitting hairs. Cyclops is wearing what he is wearing. Accept it. Quote
B-Lister Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) Um; do you feel a need to aggressively attack the hulk buster for some reason? Annoyed that this thread isn't dedicated to fawning over tv flash despite the fact Lego's never going to make a set based on the CW series? Seriously dude; how about you let us have some fun instead of trying to be the biggest wet blanket in the world. Besides, There's a very low chance of hulk buster getting cut. That's going to be one of the big action scenes and it's gonna sell a lot of merchandise and people have been waiting for that scene since Iron Man 1. 1) I love the Hulkbuster, hence my 'I hope it is', but it's far from certain at this point, though likely. 2) I don't even know if I'm going to Like the Flash show, I think you're defensive, which in the words of Mr. Spock, indicates that my argument has merit. I'm not being a wet blanket, I'm playing Devil's advocate. I am not the one predicting the future based on concept art, certain I am correct. I am excited for the possibility, but the Age of Ultron is a long time away, and there are edits that need to be made. If you want my honest opinion, it'll likely be there, but there is no guarantee. Is it likely to be cut? Depends on the context of the scene, which, at this point, we know nothing about. This is what's called splitting hairs. Cyclops is wearing what he is wearing. Accept it. No, it's being honest about the inspiration for the toys. I actually read the comics, and would be happy to provide reference if anybody's curious about the inspiration of a given minifigure. I know not everybody cares for such info, but it is relevant for many. Do they have the capability to fully print one half of a head? Including half the stud? OK now that looks 1000x better than the Fox X-Men DoFP Quicksilver. It's like I don't feel the urge to slap this one, just from looking at him. I prefer the DOFP Quicksilver, but to each their own. Ultron Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I prefer the DOFP Quicksilver, but to each their own. This version just needs silver hair and the lightning bolt and he'd be perfect. And I don't see this one's minifig being too interesting with just brown hair and a blue shirt so hopefully he gets that in the actual movie. Quote
B-Lister Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I can see why people wouldn't like the DOFP version, but I prefer the actor in DOFP, personally. Quote
Ultron Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I can see why people wouldn't like the DOFP version, but I prefer the actor in DOFP, personally. I haven't seen Evan Peters act since an episode of Phil of the Future (If any of you even know what that is) and I've never seen anything with Aaron taylor johnson so I'm very interested to see both of their adaptations. I'm hoping to see the Godzilla movie that has both Elizabeth Olson and Johnson in it to get a feel for them before the movie. Anyway, I wish with the Avengers 2 sets, assuming we get them, (of course we will) we could get their comic book appearances because I'm not sure they'll make interesting minifigs. I'm almost positive they're just going to give scarlet witch the hair that black widow has now... More generic girl hair.. Quote
B-Lister Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I hope Hulkbuster (if it doesn't get cut) is a bigfig, instead of a brickbuilt mess. Quote

I don't appreciate your tone or the attitude you've directed at me personally on a forum about discussing toys no less. Maybe you just don't recognize what your posts come across as. I know this is stupid to walk someone through this and no one's going to bother to read it/take it seriously but here it goes anyway. You feel the need to state that a piece of concept work doesn't guarantee that scene will be in the final cut of the movie so I point out it wasn't just art; they had in fact started filming. At this point I've shown no disrespect no snarkyness; merely statements of fact. And yet to this you respond with a sarcastic 'cool', then a little anecdote, more sarcasm with 'oh don't remember that?' followed by an all caps statement like you're shouting. Do you know what would've been a polite and civil way to make your statement? Ah, if they're actually shooting that's a little different but I remember seeing a scene that got cut from Avengers 1 so it's still not guaranteed. You think I'm being defensive? Well I am a human being and prefer to be treated with respect and to have discussions civilly. I only mentioned Flash because I know the whole Marvel vs DC thing can heat up in here from time to time and it seemed like the only reasonable explanation for you to be so rude. I'm sorry if I was wrong; maybe you're just one of those people that hangs out at 4chan or reddit all the time and honestly thinks this kind of hostile/aggressive tone is the norm. It's obvious you and I have very different ideas of how discussion should be conducted and I have no desire to engage with you further so I'm just going to bow out and avoid you on this forum from now on. Kerberos Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Got some better pics of the hulk buster hand color test on location Quote
B-Lister Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Really hope that scene makes it into the final cut. Looks like the armor is awesome, and should make a cool set! Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 This stops now. Kerberos, I've read through this and I don't see how what B-lister said riled you up. I think you took something the wrong way. If you continue this kind of behavior we'll have a private discussion. Quote
B-Lister Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Sorry,CM. I wouldn't want a helmet for Deathstroke. A printed head would work for me. If they did a half and half deco, I would be fine with it. But a half-hearted attempt would be a waste, imo. I really don't think Deathstroke is a far fetched idea, personally, especially considering the exposure he's gotten lately. Quote
BrickG Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 A deathstroke helmet would be fine. Not really needed but fine. Some of his incarnations (like Teen Titans) have him wearing a very masky helmet. Others have him wearing just a fabric'ish mask. It doesn't really matter. I'd also hope we'd get Ras'al'Gul (spelling)... I mean seriously... he's awesome! He wouldn't take any new molds. Just give him a fancy suit, cape and the wolverine hair with white streaks. No, not the shirtless stupid looking Lego video game version. Quote
Sam892 Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Even though the Hulk Buster Armour appears in the Movie, it doesn't mean we will see him in a set. After all there was a ton of stuff we did get that was in the first film. Plus the Hulk Buster would require several new molds, Body, left and right arms, hands and head ( if it's a separate piece from the torso ). That would be costly to make and will drive set prices up. On top of that it would be a set with two big figs which would be expensive, and most likely have a really low piece count when compare to sets in the same price range. I guess it depends on how long it's featured in the movie for, and whether there are any other action sequences that are more important. Quote

Shhhh, we can dream Two big figs in one set is a lot to ask for and it would likely be VERY expensive but I don't think it's out of Lego's reach to do it. This is going to one of the highest money making movies probably of all time and the sets will fly off the shelves most likely. There have ben two big figs in sets before (castles trolls) but this hulk buster would require new molding which is something to think about. I do agree that it depends on the amount of time it spends in the movie and it's importance but it would be an awesome opportunity to make him. Quote
B-Lister Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) The Captain America cameo got cut from Incredible Hulk. One could argue of its importance, especially at the time it was released. At the time, the cameo was well known to fans, so we were very surprised it did not make the final cut of the film. If the Hulkbuster happens (currently, all signs point to yes), I think Lego will not let us down. We might even know something as early as SDCC! Edited March 19, 2014 by B-Lister Quote
Legoman123 Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I really hope we get the Hulkbuster Armour, I feel that was something Lego missed out on when the Iron Man 3 sets were released. Quote
Borex Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Oh here's hoping for a comicstyle quicksilver and scarlet witch! That pic of scarlet witch posted earlier didnt say scarlet witch to me. Quote
B-Lister Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Agreed. I prefer Pietro over Wanda, but love all of Magneto's family, including the Grandkids. Quote
