iamste Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) Wondering if we'll get a movie version of these two in avengers 2 sets, and then comic versions in an x-men set. Edited March 19, 2014 by iamste Quote
B-Lister Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Considering that they're far more associated with the Avengers, it's really hard to say, but that would make an effective compromise. I really think it's bad form on Singer's part to even use them at all, but then, Fox has to do something to save the ailing X-Franchise, perhaps guilt by association is all they could come up with. Looks like First Class will remain the only watchable one. Quote
Borex Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Agreed. I prefer Pietro over Wanda, but love all of Magneto's family, including the Grandkids. Haha. I used to be in love with the scarlet witch when i was a kid. Just like i was in love with storm (not the mohawk version :-p), black cat and tigra. Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I'm anticipating that this summer's X-Men set will be a breakout smash for TLG, and they may already have anticipated this and are prepping further X-men sets for rapid release in January. After all, the set was initially labelled "X-Men 1," right? With that being said, I hope TLG always treats the X sets as straight-up comic adaptations and ignores the Sony movies altogether. This will deliver better figs with better costumes, better variety and better character design overall. For example, who would rather a rogue fig of Anna Paquin in some cheesy black leather jumpsuit over the iconic comic book Rogue?? Save Miss Paquin herself, I'd imagine no one, haha. Personally, I'd be one happy Mr. Timms if we get COLOSSUS & JUGGERNAUT in the next set. You got that, Lego? -- Also, I don't need you to personally respond to my comment, 'B-Lister.' Monopolizing a thread only makes it less enjoyable for others. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I'm sure that if Hulk and Iron Man are fighting, we are gonna get them in a set fighting each other. That's kind of a HUGE deal. I also doubt that they'd ever make a point to show us just Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, and the Hulkbuster fighting Hulk if any of that had the potential to be cut. It's like saying they'd cut the Batman and Superman fight from Batman vs Superman. I was hoping to see some footage or some real costumes on the actors, since they should be ready for that by now. I'm still VERY curious as to how Vision is going to look, since there're really a lot of ways they could go. And if they're filming in Africa, do you think that maybe we'll be seeing Black Panther in one form or another? Quote
B-Lister Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 It'd be awesome if Black Panther had a cameo. Quote
Suspsy Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 No, it's being honest about the inspiration for the toys. I actually read the comics, and would be happy to provide reference if anybody's curious about the inspiration of a given minifigure. I read the comics too, thank you very much. Your condescending attitude towards other people in this thread really isn't appreciated. I simply don't care that much about the perceived lack of 100% accuracy in Cyclops' attire. It's more close enough to what he was wearing up until recently to pass. And for the record, I like it better than the Jim Lee version. Quote
iamste Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) Yeah, never been a fan of the Jim Lee costume. Hell, never been a fan of Jim Lee. I to am a comic read, and have been for as long as I can possibly remember (and comic creator, but thats getting into grown up stuff, I just like toys). The only reason I'd want the Jim Lee Cyclops is so I can cover the stud on his head with a hair piece, but it isn't a big deal. Also, I'm betting that Hulk Buster is being controlled by Ulton. Movie-verse so far has Tony and Bruce having a close relationship, I bet Bruce has had a part in that suits creation. It'll be a case of Huk smashing Ultron drones until he gets bored and uses the Buster to take him on. I reckon, anyways. Edited March 19, 2014 by iamste Quote

montgocloud Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I hope that the Hulkbuster armor isn't going to be renamed like it was in IM3. I was so excited when I saw it in the trailer only to figure out it was called Igor... oh... I don't know why they made the asinine decision to rename every single comic based armor in IM3. Way to tease the fans, Marvel. But since this armor appears to actually be busting Hulks, I don't see why they wouldn't call it the Hulkbuster armor. Quote

Whedon is very good at capturing the essence of the comics and putting it onto the big screen. It will most definitely be called the Hulkbuster armor. How do I know this? I don't think Igor was the Hulkbuster. The Hulkbuster armor is used to bust the Hulk (hence the name), which didn't happen in Ironman 3. Igor's just another suit. Quote
tafkatb Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) It wasn't "renamed," Hulkbuster and Igor are two different armors.Er, see above. Edited March 19, 2014 by Tragic Banjo Quote

SMC Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 They might not want to put two big figs in a set but they could come in different sets, Lego might like you having to buy two sets to have Hulkbuster v Hulk Quote
Rinzler Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) DAT HULKBUSTER! from the concept art, here are my guesses for sets: Hulkbuster Throwdown: Iron Man (Hulkbuster), Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Ultron, Ultron Drone Exploding building $80 The Strike Of The Twins Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Ultron Drone Either a lab set (similar to mutation chamber) or a vehicle (similar to the Hydra Tank) $20 Ultron's Ultimatum Captain America, Thor, Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Ultron, Ultron Drone (x2) Bridge of the Helicarrier $50 Edited March 19, 2014 by Rinzler Quote
Toby Adams Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Wow, that Hulkbuster.... would it be like a big fig? DAT HULKBUSTER! from the concept art, here are my guesses for sets: Hulkbuster Throwdown: Iron Man (Hulkbuster), Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Ultron, Ultron Drone Massive bridge (similar to the old Spider-Man set, the name escapes me) $80 The Strike Of The Twins Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Ultron Drone Either a lab set (similar to mutation chamber) or a vehicle (similar to the Hydra Tank) $20 Ultron's Ultimatum Captain America, Thor, Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Ultron, Ultron Drone (x2) Bridge of the Helicarrier $50 I think the Strike Of The Twins is vehicle based, considering its $20 and alot of the $20 sets are a vehicle of somekind e.g: 2012 Lex Luthor's Power Armour (Mech) Lokis cosmic cube escape (Truck) Wolverines Chopper Showdown (Helicopter) ------------------------------------------------------------ 2013 Batman vs. Mr Freeze (Jetski) Spider Cycle Chase (Flying Car) Iron Man: Sea port Showdown (Boat) ------------------------------------------------------------- 2014 Batman: Man Bat attack (Helicopter) Doc Ock Truck Heist (Bank Truck) Captain America Vs Hydra (Hydra Tank) See my point? It must be a vehicle set. Quote

BrickyNolan35 Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I really doubt it. We probably won't see him until phase 4 in like 2018. I say we get in 2016 along with cap 3 Another way we could get deathstroke Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) Well from the concept art I think a set with Hulk and the Hulkbuster Armour is pretty much inevitable, and it will be a good way for TLG to test how well a set with 2 bigfigs would do and if it would be financially viable (the price would likely be steeper than usual). Even with such concerns, I hope a set like that does happen. Other than that, I hope we see Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in sets, even if Quicksilver is extremely bland. I'm liking this appearance of Scarlet Witch though; she'd be nice to have as a minifigure. Bring on 2015, and here's to hoping we get an Ant-Man set or two as well. *EDIT* ^ Where is that Deathstroke from? It looks excellent. Edited March 19, 2014 by Star Wars NutJob 69 Quote
