iamste Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I really think they need to do a massive scale one which can fit a Qunjet and several SHIELD Fighter Planes, whilst still including play features and a wide variety of Minifigs. I don't think thats ever gonna happen, mate. The cost would be huge, even if they made some compromises, the quintet would likely look completely out of place on top of it. As I say though, a actual model, witch micro builds of several quinjets would be more likely. Quote

iamste Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 In my opinion I would much prefer a playset to a model. oh, i know. I think most people would. What I'm getting at is I can't imagine TLG getting a playlet at the scale most people want here. We're talking the helicarrier. If it did come out, it'd have to be a much smaller scale, even for a D2C set. I'd rather have a large model helicarrier than a substandard dwarf, or none at all, is what i mean. Quote

I am hoping for a scaled down version though as a playset. Edited March 22, 2014 by Legoman123 Quote
BrickyNolan35 Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Y'know, taking the cockpit of the Spider-trike off of that ejector seat thing makes it seem a bit like a jet ski... Exactly what I did Quote

Mr. Elijah Timms Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 (edited) I just built the new 'Batwing' this morning, but I hesitate to call it that since a.) we already have a Batwing design and b.) it looks nothing like the signature Batwing shape we've enjoyed since Burton's first film. I didn't know what to think of this vehicle since the photos first leaked last year, and wasn't expecting too much... But I was pleasantly surprised. I actually kind of like it. Yes, the 'play feature' is the issue-- the wings are designed to swing in and catch the Joker as some sort of claw. I'm not even sure if the novelty holds up after the first hour for an 8 or 9 year old. But a funny thing started to happen as I looked at the plane with its wings extended straight out in front (as you'll all recall in that horrible box art)-- it actually isn't that bad. Shocking, right?? It sure looked idiotic to me in the images I had seen... But it's actually still sort of, well, swoosh able. And as the more I looked at it, examining it in hand, I concluded that yes, this is ridiculous and stupid as some sort of flying ship in this mode... But it's entirely believable as a submersible underwater craft. From there my imagination took off. It's a traditional sort of plane flying out of the BatCave, armed with missiles and even aviation lights on either side. But after a mission, or when the going gets rough, this vehicle is designed to dive beneath the surface, perhaps allowing for Batman's escape out to sea or even disappearing into the murky waterways of Gotham. The build is also loaded with tons of trans-yellow wedges and 1x2 plates, which could lend themselves to deep sea running lights. The plane transforms into a high velocity submarine vessel....? Sure Lego, I can buy that. Either way, once I'd arrived at this mindset the BatPlane suddenly makes perfect sense, and I like it a lot. It doesn't really pair up so well with the Steam Roller any more, but I'd invite anyone to consider if in this way to justify adding it to your own BatCave. Now if I could only come up with a better name for it than BatPlane... Edited March 22, 2014 by Mr. Elijah Timms Quote

JaseTJ Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Why couldn't they do it like the most recent Death Star? $500ish, but with like 20 figures, the basic shape of the thing with little rooms built in from the movies... That would be what I would expect from a D2C Hellicarrier. Quote

That would be what I would expect from a D2C Hellicarrier. Oh no, don't do that to me! I'd never be able to afford that and it would just be too great! Although, as opposed to the Death Star, there really aren't many characters you could include in this thing. The Avengers, including Hawkeye and Black Widow, Nick Fury, Agent Coulson, Agent Hill, Loki, and a few generic SHIELD agents. Maybe Falcon. I doubt LEGO would want to put all of their Avengers characters into one set, though. Quote

Moon_Knight Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 A set from an Arkham game would be a pleasant surprise. I guess you could kind of call the Arkham Asylum D2C set an Arkham game set with the hooded Tim Drake Robin. Most likely just a remake from the old Arkham Asylum though. @LegoFan117 - A helicarrier D2C set has been mentioned a couple times. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Unless we get one when Avengers 2 is released. That way we would have a lot more minifigures. Okay, we'd have Iron Man Captain America Hulk Thor Hawkeye Black Widow Scarlet Witch Quicksilver Vision Ultron Nick Fury Maria Hill Falcon SHIELD Agent SHIELD Agent And possibly Coulson if he winds up in Avengers 2 as well. That's only 16, which compares slightly better against the Death Star's 24. Then again A. They have far more characters in their movies than Marvel does in just two and B. That would probably make it cheaper, which is a good thing. Quote
Cammo Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Maybe for D2C DC: Blackgate Prison or Gotham City Police Department, Wayne Manor, The daily planet, ... and for Marvel: Quinjet, Oscorp Building, X-Men Mansion, Asgard, Iron Man armory or Stark Tower, ... Tons of possibilities here. Quote

Numbuh1Nerd Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 A set from an Arkham game would be a pleasant surprise. I guess you could kind of call the Arkham Asylum D2C set an Arkham game set with the hooded Tim Drake Robin. Most likely just a remake from the old Arkham Asylum though. I'd go for even a smaller set based on the Arkham games. Anything Arkham would fly with me. I'd kinda like to see DC do a themed wave where all of the bad guys are assassins hired by someone to either take ut Batman or the whole Justice League. A big set could have the climax where we get to fight the guy who hired them. Arkham Origins had 8 assassins, I say work with them specifically in their Arkham designs. Or if they want a safer route, Arkham Knight features a good number of Batman's foes teaming up against him. We can get an Arkham Batmobile set with Batsy fighting the likes of Two-Face, Scarecrow, Harley Quinn, Riddler, Penguin, and finally the Arkham Knight, all in their Arkham designs. For Riddler, I'd go with his City outfit, since this new one looks kinda TOO freaky. Harley's newest design would be perfect, since it's not as *ahem* showy...as her past outfits. Plus we could use a decent pigtails hairpiece. It's pretty unlikely any of that would happen, but boy wouldn't hose comics they include in all the sets be better! Speaking of, I don't see why they don't make overarching set plots for each wave. It would make those comics more desirable, and possibly even push kids in the direction of buying more comics. We'd probably get more varied character choices, too. Maybe for D2C DC: Blackgate Prison or Gotham City Police Department, Wayne Manor, The daily planet, ... and for Marvel: Quinjet, Oscorp Building, X-Men Mansion, Asgard, Iron Man armory or Stark Tower, ... Tons of possibilities here. The GCPD would be interesting, and Wayne Manor is long overdue. I'd love for a Daily Planet set if they made it bigger than the Spider-Man Daily Bugle one, complete with giant golden globe! With the Iron Man 3 sets slowly fading out of stock now that the movie's passed, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a new set with Iron Man. Spider-Man's gotten all but two of this wave's sets, so I doubt we'll get another one of him, so I'd say maybe Stark Tower or the X-Mansion. Or something Guardians related. Dont forget baron von strucker and diffrent ultron army goons I did forget about Ultron's army, mostly because I wasn't sure he'd have one. Von Strucker isn't as important to the overall plot, so I doubt he'll make it into a set unless they really need another villain. I also doubt that he'd make it into the Helicarrier. Quote

Old diagrams of the Batcave showed the Batplane was winched along a conveyer up an incline into a barn on the Wayne property, if the wings swing into position, the barn could be smaller and less conspicuous, and the incline, which would be carved from solid rock at considerable effort, could be narrower. gedren_y Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Someone mentioned Doctor Strange. He would be rather easy to do. High collared style cape with golden edge printing, medal piece from the CMF swimmer with Eye of Agamotto printing, black swooped back hair with white on the sides, mustachioed face, tunic printing, and black pants. But what set should he be in? Should he be facing Dormammu, Dracula, Mordo or Nightmare? Could he be in a set with the other members of the Illuminati? The others being Professor X, Namor, Mr. Fantastic, Black Bolt and Iron Man. That could be against a World War Hulk version of Hulk. All speculation, though. Superheroes being evergreen means we may get him at some point. Gotham PD and The Daily Planet are other sets that should be explored. Give TLG time. Quote

iamste Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 (edited) RDJ has two more movies left, so he'll be in Avengers 3 as well. Tbh, I reckon if the money is offered he'll stay on for more, but I feel like he's done with solo Iron Man movies (again, unless they offered him a big sum of money for it). From my understanding, Strange coming in will be taking over from Iron Man in terms of movies coming out, etc. I'd rather RDJ was... like... "there", I don't want a replacement actor or anything, just if he took more of a back seat role. Consultant to SHIELD? cameo in some movies? That stuff would be perfect. Give other guys a chance to shine. Of course, that thinking is with him "leaving" in mind. Edited March 22, 2014 by iamste Quote

We don't have enough heroes, and I found it to be a terrible event (even by regular event standards). Just get the infinity gauntlet stuff going after Age of Ultron, that's what they seem to be going for at the minute. Quote
