No, it won't be bad. Every comic-con minifigure will never be released.Azog was the only one released so far. Hopefully that means a yes to a Green Lantern.

Don't forget Phoenix.

Personally, I hope that all the SDCC exclusives that there currently are and will be in the future eventually get full releases as they rightfully deserve. If not, the SDCC exclusives are depriving people of many fan favourites. It would be such a shame to see so many good characters go to waste courtesy of SDCC.

LEGO could just change the design of a SDCC exclusive minifigure. That way it still keeps it's exclusive value, but at the same time we still get a variation of that minifigure.

I'm hoping they take that kind of route. That, or sell them throughout SDCC or just have them as previews for the next wave (like Azog was last year). Whatever happens, I hope LEGO start to manage these exclusives better at this year's Con, particularly after all the controversy about it last year.

I think Lego did it with Elrond from the LOTR theme.

I can't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure that the polybag Elrond was an exclusive minifigure with LEGO The Lord of The Rings rather than a Con exclusive.

Oh right, I forgot about that.

Well they could make a new little crown mold with ears instead of horns (the thingy darth maul has) so she can have them. That way you can still stick the hair piece in. It might work :sceptic:

I really like this idea. I was afraid that she would end up looking like Batman, only worse, but this would be pretty much perfect.

I think my big problem with the exclusives is that they're making characters that should be in sets. I wouldn't care so much if the exclusives were like Aquaman of Earth-7,226 or Bloodtide or something, characters that we don't really care a whole lot about that would make no difference to us, but when it's Green Arrow and Phoenix, A-list members of their respective companies and relatively mainstream characters, THAT is some bull. Why don't they just make the exclusives, like, gold or chrome-colored versions of existing characters? Don't screw over your fans for a few hundred extra passerby's at your Comic-Con booth.

Well in fairness LEGO are getting it half right, a good percentage of the exclusives have been variants

2011 movie Green Lantern

2011 Black TDKR Batman

2012 Black suit Spider-man

2013 Black Suit Superman

2013 Amazing Spider-man suit

While I don't agree with Con Exclusives, at least all four aren't brand new characters.

It's kinda sad the only spidey variants have been comic con exclusives. The ASM variant is just so cool...

I never had a problem with the Azog giveaway at last year's SDCC. That was 100% targeted to kids, and every adult that went up asked about it, got the same answers, "sorry, kids only and it's being passed out randomly." If I didn't get a shot at it, than I'm not worried about getting. The Super Heroes are a totally different story. That was a nightmare last year, and that part needs to be fixed. Previous years were fine...not sure why they went that idiotic route.

Maybe they could at least release SDCC figures as a "bonus" for buying $75 worth of stuff in a month. (e.g. Martian Manhunter)

That seems doable, but they'd have to have a lot more than one promotion per year..

Posted

I had never considered that possibility, though it sounds like a far better way to manage it than most. The minifigures still won't need to be mass produced, as not everyone will be able to do the promotions anyway. At the very least, it would mean that more people have the possibility to get these minifigures than if they remained as SDCC exclusives. This would also reduce after-market prices of the minifigures as well, which can only be good news.

Based on the lack of Winter Soldier sets or minifigures, it could be said that TLG have already had that idea. I hope they haven't, but it would be entirely unsurprising if this was what TLG are planning.

TDKR got a set about 6 months after it was released, they might to the same for the Winter soldier

I could see a small £20 set of the SHIELD 4x4 that Fury drives, with a variant Fury in his Trenchcoat, a Cap in his SHIELD uniform with Blue Shield, and a Winter Soldier with Chrome Arm and Blaster. Fingers crossed. :)

To the SDCC (or any Comic Con exclusives): They are a slap in the face to any LEGO fan in the world. Not that EVERY Country aside from the USA gets ignored, but the States are so huge, that they kinda get ignored, too.

They should not do any of them ever.

If we do see a small 4x4 I pray its good and if it is I am buying 7 copies and I will sell the leftover minifigures. I really think sets like that sell like the S.H.I.E.L.D truck.

Remember the maskless Star-Lord I was talking about a few pages back, looks like BrickyNolan35 found him, look at his profile picture

Hopefully we will see something along the lines of that in the 2015 winter wave.

So LEGO posted this image on their Facebook page this morning, and I noticed a few things. Namely, a black Tumbler in the very back (although it looks like the DKR one just built in black) and the car that he's leaning on bears resemblance to a very special Batmobile! What do you guys think?

Hopefully we will see something along the lines of that in the 2015 winter wave.

I swear to god if they make a Winter Soldier set that doesn't come out in the winter
