8BrickMario Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Ventriloquist is definitely the most obscure of the villains to be made, since he didn't even appear in the games. I would have expected Hush, Ra's, or even Hatter before him, but it would be great to see him. In the context of Green Lantern, though, it would be too strange if Batman wasn't in the set like he was in Aquaman and the Flash's sets, too. GL vs. Ventriloquist is a very unlikely matchup. Quote

8BrickMario Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 I'm not sure, but a lot of people are jumping to conclusions that there will be. Quote
Legoman123 Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 I'm not sure, but a lot of people are jumping to conclusions that there will be. Well it does make sense though. I mean the rest of the characters on there are physical minifigures, so why go to the trouble of deigning someone who isn't going to be a physical minifigure. Quote
Tom Jurassic Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Lego know how much we want a Green Lantern. By building up more and more hype, it allows them to release other awesome DC sets, which people feel compelled to buy to "Steam" the need for a GL. We will get GL eventually, but TLG are milking it, and you can't blame them for that. Quote
legofreak86 Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 If we have to get more spiderman in 2015 I hope we get an ASM2 set but if there is cartoon spidey stuff coming then I hope we would get villain wise: Comic Goblin, some variation of rhino, Vulture and lizard as they are core bad guys in the Spiderman mythos and with the planned sinister six film it makes sense to get vulture, Rhino and lizard as I would guess they would be appearing in the future. Plus the six appeared in USM so it would fit story wise. They could fulfil everyone's requests and Include Coulson in a comic goblin set or Gwen Stacy. The set could be Lola and GG's glider as both are very recognisable. Then the larger set could be Rhino(maybe mech version) and Lizard vs. Spiderman. Either way if we get Spidey sets again next year then those three villain variations are a must hopefully we could get a mysterio at some point. Plus either include an ASM2 Spidey suit or add leg printing and darker blue to current one for the sake of variety! (I have 6 identical spider men currently). But I agree a mix of Fantastic 4, Avengers 2, Xmen and spidey would be ideal. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 I don't think it would make much sense for Batman and Green Lantern to be fighting Sinestro and Scarface together. I think GL could handle a puppet with a machine gun pretty easily on his own, and why would Sinestro team up with him? I think they'll be in different sets, that is is we get Ventriloquist at all. (Although it would be weird if they went to all of the trouble of designing a minifig of him and making him so important in the comic if he wasn't going to be a physical figure) If we have to get more spiderman in 2015 I hope we get an ASM2 set but if there is cartoon spidey stuff coming then I hope we would get villain wise: Comic Goblin, some variation of rhino, Vulture and lizard as they are core bad guys in the Spiderman mythos and with the planned sinister six film it makes sense to get vulture, Rhino and lizard as I would guess they would be appearing in the future. That's really the only way they can get away with it. Quote
Legoman123 Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) I sill can't get over the fact that we are getting The Ventriloquist and Scarface before other villains! I mean, I am extremely happy that we are getting him are as he is my favourite, I just didn't think we would see him this soon. Lets face it, it's only in the latest wave of DC sets that we have seen a brand new Batman villain (Man bat) that isn't just a remake of one from the original Batman theme. But to say that the Ventriloquist and Scarface are going to be the second brand new villain is an unexpected pleasure to say the least. Edited April 27, 2014 by Legoman123 Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 So... we are having a set with Ventriloquist and Scarface now? Or is this just speculation? Quote

Captain Nemo Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 So... we are having a set with Ventriloquist and Scarface now? Or is this just speculation? Entierly just speculation at this point. Everything should be taken with a grain of salt at this point--although I think it is save to assume GL is on his way...still...he's coming...at somepoint...in the future...we like to believe... Oky Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Can anyone get a picture of this "bald old man" from the comic so that we can clear up this confusion? Quote
KCMatze Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Should be this guy everyone is speculating about: Quote
Legoman123 Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) I think the Ventriloquist and Scarface and Scarecrow make a good team if I'm honest. Edited April 27, 2014 by Legoman123 Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) A "few" pages ago didn't an AIM scientist appear in a comic with MODOK and Red Skull? And a year before that, didn't Jimmy Olsen make a cameo in a Superman comic? I think that's all this is. And as for the people asking why they would go through all the trouble of designing a minifigure of Ventriloquist: They didn't. It's just the back of his head, not that it would be that much trouble to make the whole minifigure. If you look at the Spider-Man comic, it features plenty of civilian characters we haven't gotten, plus Peter, Ben, and Flash. At least two of those probably aren't going to appear soon, if at all. Edit: And the Green Lantern mention is just trolling at this point. Edited April 27, 2014 by Super Fish Oil Quote
Oky Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Ah, thanks. Yes, the fedora definitely suggests that it is Ventriloquist with Scarface. But yeah, we wont know if they will actually make him until we get some official info about the next wave of sets. Quote

He was a dude in the background. We're going to get Jimmy Olsen eventually anyway. Uncle Ben and Flash Gordon wouldn't be in a set in any logical circumstance whatsoever unless the former was bleeding out onto the pavement, which seems rather unlikely. The Ventriloquist is a Batman villain made of entirely existing pieces that is relatively well-known and could easily be incorporated into a set. It makes sense and plenty of it that he would be in an upcoming wave of DC sets that we know nothing whatsoever about. Quote
8BrickMario Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) As I already pointed out, it would extremely odd but welcome to see V/S in a set soon, since the character(s) never even made it into the video games, probably due to Scarface complications in LEGO form (again, notice that he doesn't even have an official drawn design excepting the hat, making me wondering if it's a throwaway or a teaser where he'll be seen in full soon). GL is very likely, but let's hope the teasing will prove true in the near future. Edited April 27, 2014 by 8BrickMario Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Remember the characters we get in sets are based on the comic books not the video games. Quote
8BrickMario Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) Oh, I wasn't clear. I meant that no variation of V/S appeared in the LEGO DC Games, probably due to complications in the dummy's design, and that many characters in a theme appear with designs in their theme's video game if they're not physical yet, and the design is copied or tweaked for the sets later on.
