SMC Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 I really want to know which version of batman will be in each set Quote
Bricknblue Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 A Steam roller is different, so that sounds like fun. A decent Bat-Helicopter sounds good too. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 The Man-Bat set seems to be the only would-be promising set from the lineup if they didn't already do the Monster Fighter sets. These sets sound terrible, unless one of them contain batgirl, or nightwing, then I won't be getting any of them. As for the other 2 "mystery" sets, unless they are a sole superman (or other Justice league member), then I won't be getting them either. It really does seem like we will never get rid of Batman, every wave will be Batman (x5). Sort of like City and police, we can never get rid of them. I guess kids don't like anything other than the bats. Wait, what's all this talk about Nightwing being in a set and a helicopter, were pictures leaked? I might just get one of these sets if the talk about nightwing is true. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 I would hope that it is his blue design, but with other heroes starting to resemble their New 52 design, Nightwing might too. I really don't like the red on him. Quote
Ultron Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Ugh I'm so tired of DC getting all the attention! Marvel better get some amazing sets! At least the video game is coming out soon, but I want some more minifigs for my collection.. Quote
SMC Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 wheres my x-men sets, why do we only have one so far Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 wheres my x-men sets, why do we only have one so far I agree, but with Marvel coming out with at least 3 movies a year, and like 5 shows, I would doubt seeing an X-Man set, whoever, I can still dream that Jean Grey we saw in the Lego Marvel superheroes game will appear in a set, but right now that's just a dream. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 I really want to know which version of batman will be in each set Probably a few will have the BtB design. I'm guessing the New 52 suit, a comic suit, and maybe an Arkham game suit. Quote
Legoman123 Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 I agree, but with Marvel coming out with at least 3 movies a year, and like 5 shows, I would doubt seeing an X-Man set, whoever, I can still dream that Jean Grey we saw in the Lego Marvel superheroes game will appear in a set, but right now that's just a dream. Lets not rule out anything yet, we might well get the X-mansion this year as an exclusive, we don't know yet. I think it is a possibility unless they just concentrate on DC this winter, but even then they could/might give us a Wayne Manor exclusive. We just don't know. Quote
Phantomscream Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 (edited) These sound quite good actually (despite moar Batman), I'll be picking up the three cheapest ones, looking forward to seeing the new Robin minifig for the Man-Bat set. I hope the April '14 Marvel wave will be better than this year's, the Iron Man 3 sets were good considering Lego only got the film's early concept designs and whatnot, but the sets themselves were mediocre at best. If the rumours are true about there also being sets for TASM2 (which I doubt, but I like surprises), then the Marvel wave will have to be quite large.. Edited August 14, 2013 by Phantomscream Quote

What's all this talk about a nightwing and a robin fig? May I ask how you got that information about Robin appearing in the Man-Bat set? I read like 15 comments about robin and nightwing looking alike in these sets and I'm like how do you know that? Sorry for the bother but it seems like everyone knows something I don't know Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 You're dead on! Okay so here's what I can remember from the images: The Penguin Face-Off: Might be one of the best $13 LEGO sets ever. Comes with Batman, the Penguin and two robot penguin henchmen with dynamite. Batman has some sort of jet ski (I can't recall if it's similar to the polybag) and the Penguin has a duck-like flotation ride similar to the Batman Returns design. The Man-Bat Attack: Batman, Robin (I thought it might've been Nightwing, but he looks really cool!) and Man-Bat. Really cool looking Bat-Helicopter. Could retail for $25 The Riddler Chase: We've all seen it. The Joker Steam Roller: This is the one I'm most excited for. 5 total minifigures, but all I could make out was Batman and the Joker (purple hat included!). While the box art made it look like two heroes and three villians, I am not ruling out the possibility of the other hero being Nightwing. The Steam Roller looks ridiculously awesome, with a ton of great colors. Batman's vehicle is a jet, with similar wing functionality to that of the Republic Striker from the Old Republic line. So this confirms it. I thought I wouldn't like the line and I was right, mainly just Batman who I have enough of already, thanks for the info and hope to see pictures soon, but I probably won't be interested in these sets if the minifig lineup is true. Sorry for the bother but it seems like everyone knows something I don't know go a page or two back. darth tater revealed set names, and what the sets looked like and figs included. What he could remember anyway, He said the Man-Bat set came with a cool looking red and black figure, saying it was Robin but it might be new 52 Nightwing. I'm hoping batgirl and Croc come in the Joker set. Quote
RaincloudDustbin Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Sorry to be pedantic but it was me who suggested it was Nightwing. I don't want people thinking it was semi-confirmed to be him. Quote
deskp Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 So much Batman, They should do another dc hero in every batman set. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Sorry for all the confusion and for taking up so much comment space you guys, this was just a very confusing topic, taht's all. Quote
phanstasm Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 (edited) darth_tater, thanks so much for that great summary of the winter wave!!! The models for the villains sound very fun, and I'm excited even more by your enthusiasm for the sets. Hearing that the Penguin one is "[...] one of the best $13 LEGO sets ever" is a lot of praise, so that's great! Since we have three unkown characters in the Steam Roller, I'll reserve my minifigure comments for now. So, it looks like what most of us were thinking is true, and Lego has gone back to the 2012 model for Super Heroes. DC gets the winter wave and Marvel gets the summer wave. Assuming TLG is following last year's trend of zero Super Hero retailer exclusives, and giving us 1 Lego Direct exclusive, it looks like Lego is continuing to lower the number of Super Hero sets per year (not counting polybags, or exclusive videogame or book minifigures): 2012 *DC: 5 *Marvel: 5 *Retail Exclusive Winter: 1 DC *Retail Exclusive Summer: 1 Marvel *Lego Direct: 0 - Total: 12 sets 2013 *DC: 5 *Marvel: 5 *Retail Exclusive Winter: 0 *Retail Exclusive Summer: 0 *Lego Direct: 1 (DC) - Total: 11 sets 2014 *DC: 4 *Marvel: 4? *Retail Exclusive Winter: 0? *Retail Exclusive Summer: 0? *Lego Direct: 1? (Marvel?) - Total: 9 sets? Edited August 14, 2013 by phanstasm Quote
Piranha Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Now I'm excited for the Marvel sets, but when can we expect an announcement? Probably not for 6 months, at one of the Toy Fair's most likely, around the end of January/ February. I suspect they are all based on upcoming films next year and will be closely guarded until release to avoid any potential spoilers. I also think some figs will be missing from display like this year with IM3 and MoS. Or it could be KatanA or Red Robin I agree, it could be a stand in Robin, Nightwing, New 52 Nightwing, Red Robin or also Damian Wayne Robin. Those descriptions are somewhat interesting I guess. I wonder what other villains are in the steam roller set? I am hoping for new ones but wouldn't be surprised to get two Joker thugs like in the Two-face chase set. However I am now really interested in the remaining 2 DC sets. They seem to have used up all the repeats, so good potential is left. I am guessing the price points are, $13, $20, $30 and $50 for those sets. Which leaves, $40, $70 and $120 (largest non D2C set size). Probably the retailer exclusive is $40 like the Funhouse. However, we are still missing a true flagship set. If it is another special edition, it would be odd since it is the flagship of the wave but not unheard of for licensed themes. The most likely options I would guess, would be Wayne Manor, Bat-tank or a JL HQ. Unless it is Arkham Origins based and wasn't listed to avoid game spoilers ( a lot of characters are still unknown for the game). The last possibility is we are not getting a sixth Marvel set this year and to balance it out only 5 DC sets next. Quote

Just curious, I'd love for there to be 6 but I hadn't heard anything. I was actually kinda disappointed there was only going to be 4 Quote
DJ Bricks Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 @ Piranha or it might be Batgirl, though I think she's the hero in the steam roller. I think Nightwing might be in the Man-Bat set. Maybe croc and and killer moth are in the roller (nod to batgirl's origin) Quote
RaincloudDustbin Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Luckily, I can afford every set this time round. Quote
strangely Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 The steamroller sounds interesting and I'm definitely in favor of a new 52 Nightwing. Hopefully we get Batgirl, she's been at the top of my wanted list for a while. Quote
305Bats Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 So do these retailer catalog images leak out or do we have to wait for an official release? The wait is killing me! Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 The retailer catalog pictures are almost always confidential and if they get directly posted here, will be removed. They'll eventually get leaked somewhere else, though. It's impossible for anything to stay truly confidential when catalogs are sent to that many potential leakers. Quote
Legoman123 Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 I actually (don't know why) really want Killer Moth to be included in the steamroller, and/or Mad Hatter as well. Quote
