Moon_Knight Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 (edited) @montyofmusic Thanks! You just got me even more excited to get my hands on the Milano. It looks great from the photos I've been salivating over for almost the whole year of 2014 and it will be even more exciting to actually own it. The no potted plant's a bummer but a way easy fix. I think I've seen some numbered stickers in LOTR sets but I might be wrong. 12 stickers seems like a lot but I don't mind stickers because they provide a lot of detail for the set. legofreak86 Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 One question. It looks like from the box that the back has an entrance to the ship. Is that the case? It looks like at the back of the ship there is some sort of opening door/hatch? That would make this awesome as that's the one thing the quinjet lacked a proper entrance to get to the inside of the ship as the bomb feature was in the way. Also the black bird sadly has no boarding ramp/hatch. If this does then that's awesome! Quote

legofreak86 Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 That's a shame. I'll probably just remove the window and use it as an open entrance/exit then. Quote
Faefrost Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Due to Groot's lineage, coming from an ancient and ennobled sap-line and being the scion of an elite royal house, Groot has received the finest education from the most gifted of tutors. He is highly intelligent and has a tremendous grasp of quasi-dimensional super-positional engineering. Full disclosure should report that this particular part of Groot's biography was relayed to readers by way of the character "Maximus the Mad", who is himself quite well named. It may be viewed as somewhat unclear if Maximus was in fact talking with Groot, or simply the voices in his own head. Although based on his interactions with the two regular Guardians characters that can communicate with him, Rocket Raccoon and Mantis (Who is not in the movie since more than one green chick gets confusing for we mortals, outside of some of James T Kirk's naughtier moments.) it can be safely implied that Groot is quite intelligent, if not one of the more intelligent members of GotG. Granted that is not a particularly high bar to leap. Quote
montgocloud Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Wait, everyone, just noticed this while I was taking pictures for a review that will HOPEFULLY go up later today. There is a sideways clip over the stereo for Gamora's sword. How did I miss that? Quote
8BrickMario Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 That Sakaaran has a really creepy face. It looks like it would eat your soul. I noticed that the poster of those pics called Gamora "Nebula". Quote
deskp Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 anyone besides me want the BvS batman figure to have real eyes, you know like it is in the movies, we already have plenty of white eyed verisons. I made a mock up example: Quote

Robianco Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Christo's latest Batman custom has real eyes. Looks good! Quote
TheLegoDr Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 In that Flickr page, it shows the video game versions of the GOTG and Drax looks eerily like the Martian Manhunter that came out. No wonder they didn't want to go with another green figure and opted for gray instead. Yes, he does have a sand green/light bley color in the movie it appears, but the video game version made him regular green. He looks good, but a lot like MM. Quote
kevkipo Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 https://www.flickr.com/photos/movielover611/14055146239/in/photostream/ Those are some good pics Quote
TheLegoDr Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 That does show how awesome some of these figures are. I really think Rocket should have a smaller torso piece, which of course doesn't exist. He just looks too big comparitively. It looks as if he is using the CMF Simpsons's tail piece, as expected. You can see the thin gray line above his legs. I understand Groot being able to change size, but I almost think I'd prefer a Hagrid sized Groot (or Hulk at the most) to line up better with the rest of them like in their line-up shot. He is taller, but not that much taller. I'm sure later in the movie he'll be larger, so this makes sense. But I know what I'd want. Quote
8BrickMario Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Rocket's tail isn't the same as the cat tail, but works the same way. Drax is green in the comics. In the movie, he's greenish/bluish/gray. I think gray is the best since it's neutral, and I doubt it's because he would resemble MM. In the video game, Drax looks lighter than Manhunter is. Quote

I'd be okay with that. At least giving us the option of real eyes like they did for Wolverine would be nice. Personally I'm more hoping for a new cowl with eyes positioned over where a minifigures eyes would actually be. I'm dreadfully tired of the eyes being positioned on his forehead. Quote

Revelation Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Gosh. My wallet is going to HATE me this year... Unfortunately your wallet will even further hurt you, based on previous set prices a $20 US set is $40 AU, which means the Starblaster Showdown will most likely be $40 (20% at SHOPFORME will mean $32), Knowhere escape while $40 in US will be $70 AU ($56 with 20% off) and Milano is a bit more tricky but usually a $70 set varies between $100-$130 AU depending on license. Sorry for the bad news, too many good sets coming out this year this marvel wave + star wars summer + fairground mixer + sandcrawler + ewok village my wallet is going to hate me for the rest of my life!
