Wow, sweet find. I wonder when it will come out. Probably early 2015. I'd love this to just be a teaser for upcoming sets with Green Lantern and Cyborg, but we're pretty much gaurenteed Green Lantern in 2015 and Cyborg in 2016 with the BmVSm:DoJ ( :hmpf: ) sets.

If there is a LEGO Batman 3, I hope Emmet will be in it.

I think we'll just see a cameo Victor Stone in the movie. Maybe we'll see his accident too but I doubt we'll see him as cyborg considering we've got three heroes in this movie already. I wouldn't count on getting a cyborg minifig until 2018 for the JLA movie but that's just speculation.

If a Lego Batman game would be released this year, I sure do hope for a GL minifig as the limited edition figure.

Nah, an exclusive GL minifig would mean that he' be a pain in the megablocks to get. Just put him in a set.

Yeah, set would be waaay better, but might come in the Superman/Batman wave. So an exclusive video game giveaway wouldn't be such a bummer as the Comic-Con sillies. That figure would be affordable and a nice bonus to all those that buy the game.

The Iron Patriot is on ebay for about 23€, that sounds way better than 200€ in my ears ;)

I agree. I think this is likely going to be an origin story on the side for Cyborg. 2018 seems pretty far away, though, given the Justice League LEGO is creating is the New 52 incarnation, which includes Cyborg. I'd say we'll see him after Green Lantern, but before Cyborg's cinematic minifig comes out.

Well, I'm still trying to get my hands on a $30 Lex Luthor minifig from the LEGO Batman 2 pre-order. I'd rather our exclusive fig not be such a detrimental one. Make it Vicki Vale or someone insignificant like that.

I went to TRU today and they had the Blackbird, and Showdown and Escape GotG sets. No Milano. I'd love a new DC game, but why would they make it? It seems like it would just be a new story and mostly the same characters.

I could see the exclusive being either a Green Lantern, Alfred, Tim Drake or Brainiac. Reason being that we have neither Alfred or Tim and they are bound to get a lot of screen time in the new one. A GL not Hal but maybe John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, Guy Gardener or any other Lantern that requires no new moulds, mainly because Hal sends that signal into space at the end of the first one for more GL to help. Brainiac seems more likely as they set him up as the big villain for the next one.

I really liked the open-world exploration of MSH, and that you performed tasks to unlock characters, rather than the small-world TLM and Hobbit games, where characters were unlocked after levels and only bought. An open Gotham would be great to see done on the newer consoles!

My thoughts on the next game is they had planned to originally make it more Superman centric, figuring a wave of Superman interest riding on Man of Steel. And figured on Braniac as a good Superman game villain. Then they saw the movie... Hence Batman 3.

Any particular reason why X-Men, a well established franchise, only gets one set while Guardians of the Galaxy, a generally pretty unknown franchise, gets 3?

The movie is promoting the GotG sets for free.

The X-Men set is not tied into the movie, ergo lacks free promotion.

What sets LEGO produces also most likely has to do with what the License holder is going for. Marvel (aka Disney) seems to be making a merchandising push with GotG, with a healthy number of toys coming out across different brands. It makes sense honestly since the property on its own is not that well known and doesn't obviously tie into the Avengers films, so a merchandising push could help get kids excited. Not that it's a kid film, but it's going to have plenty of space battles and generally cool outer-space scenery from the looks of it, which kids would be into.

What Marvel wants to market obviously takes precedence over everything else. It's why we get so many Ultimate Spider-Man sets and perhaps why there weren't sets for the Thor and Captain America sequels, which did not seem to get much merchandise in general.

Disney doesn't own the X-men movies, they're not going to waste multiple sets on a movie they don't own. They'll create one semi-related set to leech off the success of the movie they don't own. They do own Guardians of the Galaxy, so naturally they'd want to promote it as much as they can. It's a wild card movie, as being a new franchise it's hard to say how well it will do, so naturally Disney's going to try to get as much as they can out of it, hence a full line of sets.

Batman also features a new cowl which is akin to the Ben Affleck one looks like we'll be seeing it soon....

And I bet we'll at least be getting that new 52 superman since he has no leg printing which TT games would normally put in.
