strangely Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 You could see the neck bracket in the trailer, it's transparent so it's difficult to see unless you look for it. You're right, it's there, but there is one core difference. In the render the head sits on top of the bracket as it would on a real minifigure, but in the video the bracket is large enough to fit around the neck. That little detail right there make me think it could end up being a real minifigure. My guess is that purple/red batman will be a SDCC exclusive. While that's possible, I don't think it's likely. I mean introducing a new cowl color for something with such a limited run seems like a waste of money. Personally I kind of think it'll wind up in an exclusive set this summer. The fact that it doesn't use the new cowl design sort of rules out that it's going to be in next years sets (Since with the last cowl the second it was introduced they phased out the older one, I can only assume the same will happen when and if they introduce the next one). just2good Posted May 28, 2014 Author Posted May 28, 2014 My guess is that purple/red batman will be a SDCC exclusive. Doubt it. Kids love LEGO Batman minifigures, but adults seem to prefer different DC characters. It would be a great opportunity to spice things up a bit and put this version in a random upcoming Batman set. Just a quick one, will there be any more sets released by marvel this year (before Christmas)? Unlikely, unless they're part of the January 2015 line. We know just about every LEGO set planned for a 2014 release at the moment. Quote
Super Goblin Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 (edited) It's most likely in reference to the new Bat-spacesuit, since GL, WW and Supes are giving there opinions at the same time. Plus as Hal says he likes it Robin nods and does the heart gesture, which to me says 'I like that suit too, in fact I love it'. Also in reference to the Zur en Arrh figure being a promo I can't see it. To my knowledge LEGO has never released a promo figure that has colours exclusive to it. If they ever do ( like a hair piece in x colour) they usually plaster it everywhere afterwards to get their money's worth. A purple bat cowl is really a one use object, and it's expensive to turn injection moulding machines on just to create a small number of parts. So I'm assuming if he is a real figure ( I think he is ) the he's coming in a set. Did the exclusive Lex not have the armor in an exclusive color not seen in any other set? KCMatze Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Please stop saying the 'S' or 'excl...' word, everyone :D I am freaking out if they do that. AGAIN. Quote
BrickyNolan35 Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 K, that's what I thought. It seemed a little peculiar that TLG would put that kind of humor in a kids video game especially since DC is against it. The twitter page for the game posted that with caption "from robin with love". The Zur en Arrh could be with the movie if they release one alongside the game Quote
KingPixels Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Please stop saying the 'S' or 'excl...' word, everyone :D I am freaking out if they do that. AGAIN. Agreed. I hate LEGO a little bit more every time they do one of those godawful raffles. Quote

So I'm assuming if he is a real figure ( I think he is ) the he's coming in a set. I checked this theory and they did S@H promo figs, polybags, book figs and game pre-order figs with parts in colors that never appeared anywhere else. But there was never a Comic-Con raffle fig that used pieces in fully new colors, so Zur en Arrh is definitely not going to be one of those. Just a quick one, will there be any more sets released by marvel this year (before Christmas)? No, through a wonder it could be a S@H D2C set but the missing D2Cs are most likely going to be from other themes than Marvel. Quote

You must mean Sdcc exlusive. Which has almost ruined our chances getting Green lantern, Green arrow, Amazing Spiderman, Phenix, and more. Quote
8BrickMario Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Well, the exclusives don't ban the minifigures from appearing in sets. LEGO is probably still laughing about Azog in Dol Guldur Battle. So Phoenix, Green Arrow, and the more well-known characters aren't impossible, just not terribly likely. Beyond Gotham is giving us more of a possibility than ever before for a GL. Quote
Moon_Knight Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 I hope they can make this Beyond Gotham game as good as the Marvel one. I didn't mind the past Lego Batman games but Marvel's variety of characters and giant open world has made it the best Lego game up to date IMO. Quote
elederberg Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Hey guys long time reader first time user. I read somewhere that Lego Batman 3 would also include big figs like a big fig Solomon Grundy and a big fig Killer croc. Also does anyone think that Lego could release a version of Rocket Raccoon in his team suit as a S@H polybag figure? Quote

You are correct with the big figs yeah so far Killer Croc, Grundy and Cyborg(one of his suits) have been confirmed. In regard to the rocket raccoon, it's definitely possible for lego to do it but if they do it? Your guess is as good as mine. Quote
Steph 104th Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 The Astro-Batsuit definitely has a different mask mold. It has no chin piece and the ears are shorter yet the colourful Batsuit has the usual variant mask. Quote
The Joker1 Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Just an experiment but how does this look? Will be trying out a few more ideas soon. 010 by Legocollecter123, on Flickr 011 by Legocollecter123, on Flickr Quote
deskp Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 ^ I don't like that, and i think the arms/missing shoulder is the issue. Quote

Colossus Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Excellent! I'd take that over the halfassed Lego version any day. Quote
Floundie Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 What are those legs from? I don't recognize them. Quote
The Joker1 Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 (edited) What are those legs from? I don't recognize them. They are an old orient expedition pair from the china style monster. I guess that style groot is a bit of a marmite thing some love it, Overs hate it. I will have another attempt with shorter arms soon. Edited May 29, 2014 by The Joker1 Quote
kevkipo Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 I've tryed to think about a modification of Groot too, normally im good with such things But this old tree is tough Quote
Floundie Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 I like Groot's design as it is. Yeah, he's a little big, but he looks good. Now, after two redesigns of Batman's mask, does anyone think we'll see a new Iron Man helmet next year. Quote
8BrickMario Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 I don't think the new cowl is a redesign, just a new cowl (not to replace the current one). As to Iron Man, it's unlikely, but I'd like to see the Mk. 1 and Rescue. The big-figs have been used by TT Games now wherever they can. LEGO The Hobbit had them, too. Quote

adotnamedstud Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 (edited) Wow, I didn't believe it at first, but maybe that UCS Tumbler is real and we're getting it this year. Well, maybe. I think it's a larger set or a D2C. Because of the Zurr Arr Ehh Batman's cowl is the 2013-late 2014 (speculated) version. Also a '66 Batmobile isn't out of the question... But the '66 Batmobile's LEGO Ideas project is still up... I just assume it's something we wouldn't see coming. (Maybe new cowls will make an appearance in a large Justice League set with all the New 52 designs!) Actually speaking of that. A Watchtower could be imminent seeing as it's been in LB2 and plays a major role in LB3. Edited May 29, 2014 by NuffSaid1996 Quote
