DJ Bricks Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Wow, I didn't believe it at first, but maybe that UCS Tumbler is real and we're getting it this year. Well, it could be the UCS Tumbler or it could be some exclusive set, maybe the 60's Batmobile with that.purple batman. green Lantern and facing a villian like Ventriloquist. Quote
GuntherThePenguin Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 I'm sure someone has already said this, but does anyone else feel like the new Ultra Agent villain, Infearno, has the pieces to make a perfect Human Torch and/or Ghost Rider? I'm feeling more and more confident in the idea that a Fantastic Four set is coming! Quote
Spider-Man Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 I think the biggest issue with making a better Groot is that the mold LEGO made is just too big to really modify and look like it is all in proportion. The torso is just too long and broad in my opinion. It's ok though I guess, sure the size and colors are a little off, but it still looks really cool! Quote
Cult_Of_Skaro Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) Neither LEGO nor DC would endorse that, so if you noticed it, then they did. It probably isn't that. Have either LEGO or DC said officially that they will never make jokes about Robin being gay or something? Edited May 30, 2014 by Cult_Of_Skaro Quote
BFN Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Have either LEGO or DC said officially that they will never make jokes about Robin being gay or something? Well, for one, I think Robin's age would kind of complicate that a bit further... Quote
GuntherThePenguin Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Have either LEGO or DC said officially that they will never make jokes about Robin being gay or something? Why are you talking about this? 1) does that have anything to do with Lego? 2) Lego is a children's company, therefore jokes about sexuality shouldn't even be discussed. Move on. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Please don't mini-mod. Why Robin is making a particular gesture in the video game is irrelevant for this topic. Speculation about what figures we might see in physical form is fine but let's leave at that and put anything else concerning the game in Culture and Multimedia. Quote

My apologies, I just didn't want the conversation to veer into uncomfortable territory. I won't do it again! Anyways, as I've said before, I really hope that this new, surprise Superheroes set doesn't turn out to be a UCS tumbler. I would much rather a set with Green Lantern or any Marvel sets, not a set of some boring vehicle from movies that I personally don't enjoy. Just my opinion, of course. Edit: Just noticed the new set is a confirmed Batman set, so now I'm REALLY hoping its not the tumbler! Edited May 30, 2014 by GuntherThePenguin Quote
Legoman123 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) I really hope that the set comes with the Ventriloquist and Scarface. Edited May 30, 2014 by Legoman123 Quote
Dr Leg O Brick Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 I was thinking, for those who want a black Blackbird, (I'm personally fine with the new set), I was looking through the Town sets on Brickset and came across this: http://brickset.com/sets/6582-1/Daredevil-Flight-Squad Blocky, yes, and from 1998, and it'd have to be modified, but it's black, it has X logos and it looks like it might seat a couple of people. It's a shame though it was US exclusive. Quote
Cammo Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) Oh man another DC D2C set would kill me... I still have save up for the Ghostbusters, Hobbit wave 3 and the Milano :/ Although I see that the deadline is November 3rd for that competition... Maybe it'll be announced along the release of the Batman 3 Videogame. (or an early press release at SDCC since Batman is celebrating his 75th birthday this year.) Edited May 30, 2014 by Cammo Quote

Legoman123 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 As long as we are not getting an UCS Tumbler I'll be happy. Quote
Cammo Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) As long as we are not getting an UCS Tumbler I'll be happy. But you have a picture of the Dark Knight Trilogy? :P I completely agree with you though (unless it's minifigure scale in black and comes with a Dark Knight Joker). I prefer a Justice League Watchtower or Wayne Manor but speculation isn't really appropriate in this forum. The Brick Show did confirm the fact that it is a UCS Tumbler: at minute 2min10 Edited May 30, 2014 by Cammo Quote
legofreak86 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) I just rewatched the movie version of Lego batman: Dc heroes unite and just realised a logical reason that we have a new bat-mobile and plane this year. In the story that the sets draw from, the joker destroyed the bat mobile and batwing with the deconstructor. This means for beyond Gotham he would have new vehicles. This explains why we have a new car in riddler chase and a new plane in the steamroller as he will likely have those in his new cave/use them in game. That makes the reasoning for a new car and plane make much more sense wouldn't you folks agree? On the subject of the tumbler as long as it comes with some DK trilogy unreleased figures I welcome it. Heres hoping for Michael caine Alfred, Liam neeson ras, Begins batman and TDK joker. Edited May 30, 2014 by legofreak86 Quote
Captain Nemo Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 That makes the reasoning for a new car and plane make much more sense wouldn't you folks agree? I think it's far more likely that Lego just wanted to make more of the same thing, again. I don't think we can base their DC business plan on a line from a direct to video animated movie. --- On the subject of a USC Tumbler---I just don't get it, at all. I don't see the appeal to an expensive, hugely oversized (it is USC after all), black truck that fills up DC's set space. Again this seems like another replacement set, from the old USC Batmobile. I also don't see any reason why minifigures would be included at all. I think it's safe to assume we will never get a DK Joker! He's too violent; plus he was already left out of his movie tie in set, and his appearance is now a few years old. It's a bit disappointing, but personally I'd be more disappointed if a USC Tumbler means we have to wait even longer for important JL characters like Green Lantern. Quote

legofreak86 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 To violent? Did joker ever snap someone's neck onscreen? Bane was far more violent than the joker and he got a figure. He stood on that army guy's neck and choked him to death, he broke batman's back, killed dagget, killed several guards at the stock exchange, shot his own men and gleefully walked through the street battle picking off police officers one by one. If azog, bane, loki, zod e.t.c can get figures then I see no reason not for TDK joker. Personally between him and Liam's ras I'd go with ras. He is a character we don't have in any form and is the only film ras we have. I don't see why it wouldn't have figures as most UCS sets in SW have them nowadays and I can't see kids buying a 6 years old essentially big tank with no figures. Quote
Steph 104th Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 ^ a valid point. Lego worries about LEGO CITY from getting violent that is why there are no guns there. But this is the Licensed themes we get guns and weapons so we have a good chance of getting a figure of a character who breaks innocent vigilantes backs or any other one of Batman's enemys. Quote
legofreak86 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 i'd prefer neeson though as Ras is one of batman's most prominent and famous foes and begins version of him was slick, contemporary and fierce. Plus Liam just plays the part so well,. My hope for the set is that it is very detailed but scaled for figures, has an ejecting bat pod and includes Batman (either black TDK, TDKR or Batman begins), Ras, Catwoman, TDK Joker and depending on price scarecrow or Lucius (as its his brainchild). There is a good example I've seen of what would be best: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/58144 Hope lego takes heed and gives us the tumbler set we deserve.. Quote
Robianco Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) As much as a watchtower for JLA would be great I think there's plenty of time for that to happen. I'm of the same thinking of the post above whereby we get a Tumbler with the pod etc and a range of figures would be great. I happen to really like the Tumbler although given the choice I'd prefer the 66 Batmobile following that poster release. What would the chances of more than one Batmobile appearing in a set? It's not often we have a 75th anniversary for a character. Edited May 30, 2014 by Robianco Quote
Moon_Knight Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 @legofreak86 - Couldn't agree with you more. Bane breaks necks right and left in TDKR. I think making a Heath Ledger Joker minifig would be fine and it would be amazing. I would love to see Liam Neeson Ra's al Ghul minifig too. As Neal Adams said, "Ra's al Ghul is Batman's Moriarty @Robianco - I agree with you too. While I'd love to see a D2C JLA watchtower, I think we've got plenty of time for that especially since we have Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice coming out in 2016 and the Justice League movie coming out in 2018. I want to see a Tumbler with a batpod and a compartment to put Batman in for "attack mode". Quote
Captain Nemo Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 To violent? Did joker ever snap someone's neck onscreen? Bane was far more violent than the joker and he got a figure. I have to disagree. (In relation to Superman--it's just different, he's the hero. It's very unlikely Lego had knowledge about that; and even then it would not stop them from making the sets. Heroes (for the most part, especially in relation to Lego licenses) have different "rules" about killing--most often it is last resort and not desired; anyways besides the main argument) Joker is far more violent than Bane. Aside from shooting people (which most movie villains do) and snapping a few necks (which Superman does) kill for kill he's not nearly as violent as Joker. In DK, Joker not only shoots people, but stabs them, blows them up, sets them on fire, and even jams pencils in their eyes. Far more violent. Even then, I still think there are two pressing problems with this USC Tumbler; it's based off a movie that's 2+ years old (at least, it most famous appearance is even older than that) And again, minifigures. I don't see any reason to expect we would get any figures with it at all--it's a ultimate collectors series build. That means it's large, meant for display, and is not going to be at minifigure scale. Even then, it doesn't have the same possibilities of adding figures anyways like the 10221 Star Destroyer does. Personally, I just see this as a waste. We already get a relatively small number of superhero sets a year, and using a limited slot for a giant build that does not fit with anything else seems like a waste. I can live without a Ledger Joker since the movie is six years old--I don't know if I can stand another year or two without a Green Lantern or JLA (and being consistently teased about it by Lego) just so we can fit in another Tumbler. Numbuh1Nerd Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Have either LEGO or DC said officially that they will never make jokes about Robin being gay or something? On a more recent episode of Fat Man on Batman (it was either 68 or 69) Kevin told a story about a joke about Batman and Robin's relationship that DC wouldn't let him do. So, um, kinda. Groot's body is going to be hard to work with it, because that really effects the proportions of the whole thing. Anybody consider that "New LEGO Batman Product" doesn't necessarily mean a set? Quote
