Pulp Detective Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 (edited) Jesus the new GotG sets are expensive over here... 55 eur for the Knowhere Escape an X-men and 90 eur for the Milano. If there weren't any stickers I wouldnt be complaining but I'm not tending to buy it on the L@H shop. I probably have to wait till some sales or hit Amazon. You kiddin??Here in my country the Xmen set costs around 70 euro, believe me 55 euro is a good price for such a set. Edited June 1, 2014 by LOTR343 Quote

Cammo Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 (edited) Why is it that this years sets are quite more expensive than last year. Even the USD prices are rather high. I mean look at some of the new Star Wars sets. Is it because all the new molds? Inflation? Or is it just due to the Disney trademark rights that may have increased. I feel the pain for the Australian AFOLs. I might buy the X-men Jet for that price though because the set is just wonderful. But please... that Knowwhere escape set is just not appealing at that price. sorry for my moaning though. Edited June 1, 2014 by Cammo Quote
Steph 104th Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 You think those prices are bad, I am probably the only South African AFOL on this site if not the only one in my country and over here the Milano is going for the equivalent of 150 US dollars. So stop moaning about prices unless you pay more than me. If the tumbler is confirmed when can we expect it? Quote

Legoman123 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 To be honest the X-Men set is cheaper than I thought it would be in the UK. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Nz price: Milano $180, X-jet $100. Now stop your moaning everyone. Quote
Cammo Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Ok ok I get it... Just wanted to know the reason why these were pricier than the wave last year; which Sam answered. -_-" Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I love how this whole conversation is just "no, it's more over here!" "NO, it's more over HERE!" Never so glad to live in the US. Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 International price complaints have been discussed to death. This is not the thread for it. Let's stay on topic, please. Quote
eldiano Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) Finally all three, the i did not expect the milano to be 74usd, granted after reading all the prices pretty much everyone would pay in their respective countries, I realized that man, the ghostbusters was the best purchase for the day, 550 pieces for 49.99, even the xmen jet sitting at 336 for the price we paid for is crazy. kermit Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) From the brick fan page : ''As we mentioned in our post of the July 2014 Store Calendar, there will be an exclusive LEGO set being revealed at the 2014 San Diego Comic Con. Brickset has updated their database with a listing for an Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) set with set number 76023. It is listed under the DC Comics/Universe Super Heroes theme. As we all know, SDCC is the mecca of comic and movie news so putting two and two together, I can say with a 99.9% certainty that it will most likely be the Tumbler that we did an article about back in February. If this is true, the Tumbler will be the second Batman-themed set with UCS label with The Batmobile (7784) being the first. With all the cool sets that LEGO has released or will be releasing in the future, 2014 has been awesome so far with still six months left in the year! How do you guys feel about having a UCS Tumbler being released this year? Update: Ed over on Brickpicker “confirms” that the set will be $199.99. Since Ed works with the prices and the database over there for the investors, maybe there’s some secret information that are in the codes. I guess we’ll see if that is correct when/if it is revealed at SDCC.'' Edited June 2, 2014 by kermit Quote
just2good Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 From the brick fan page : Where did they get that there will be an exclusive set reveal at SDCC? Sure, that goes without saying, but we never get D2C set reveals at SDCC, but retail-wide set reveals. And multiple sets are revealed. I believe this Tumbler will come out in October (just on my own speculation), and the Mini-Cooper will come in July for sure. That's been the rumored release date for months for that set. LEGO wouldn't reveal a D2C set at SDCC and then release it a few days later. SDCC is too big for that. Quote
BFN Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 On the topic of SDCC, does anyone else hope that the full wave's minifigures will be revealed like two years ago instead of one complete set per subtheme like last year? Any speculations on what the odds of this would be? Quote

The July store calendar states "Follow us on Facebook to see the next exclusive LEGO set, which will be unveiled at Comic Con International". Exclusive implies D2C, and SDCC starts on July 24th. The calendar also reveals that starting July 18th, "VIPs get access to a NEW Exclusive LEGO Set". I agree that the Mini will be the exclusive set available on July 18th, but I think the Tumbler will be revealed at SDCC and available a month or two later. Quote

Still don't think the Tumbler will be revealed at SDCC, as Arkham Asylum wasn't revealed there (besides the minifigures) and was revealed two months later at another event. Quote
Dr Leg O Brick Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) Well, a bit of a let down personally. Sure, it's all right, but non minifig vehicles have never been my department, particular the Tumbler. I don't really know what Lego is going for personally, I know many who won't buy this, it seems like a bad move personally but still, what do I know? I'm not even a big DC fan. Maybe it'll be the next big thing, but I would've preferred an Adam West Batmobile any day of the week, and I'm sure many here would too. Still, I'm happy for those who want to get this. Cammo Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) Very glad that DC is getting another set this year. So if it is the tumbler, would it be the same set-up as a UCS Star Wars vehicle? An extra large set with information plaque and a minifigure? (I hope it xomes with some light bricks.) Edited June 2, 2014 by Cammo Quote
Pulp Detective Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 I don't like the sound of this "exclusive" set.But still excited for another Batman set. Quote
Spider-Man Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Hopefully LEGO doesn't put an exclusive major character in the set to get more people to buy it I know they have done it with some Star Wars UCS in the past so I'm really hoping that they don't throw Green Lantern or somebody in a $200+ set in order to generate more sales. Quote
strangely Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 A gigantic Tumbler is definitely not something I need. As much as I like it as a vehicle I would prefer one that's minifigure scale, one that actually fits two minifigures. I'm sort of hoping that it's actually a UCS of the Adam West Batcave with Batmobile. I would buy that immediately. Quote

If $199 is the correct price then I really really hope that it is fully Power Functions equipped. Lights, motor and steering. That is the only way I can see a UCS car hitting that price point. Otherwise it is just Orthanc tipped sideways. A mound of black plastic. How big could you make a Tumbler before it gets absurd? Where did they get that there will be an exclusive set reveal at SDCC? Sure, that goes without saying, but we never get D2C set reveals at SDCC, but retail-wide set reveals. And multiple sets are revealed. LEGO wouldn't reveal a D2C set at SDCC and then release it a few days later. SDCC is too big for that. Lego will often do multiple reveals at SDCC. Typically each day goes to a genre or licensed theme. In the past they have shown Super Heroes one day, LotR or Hobbit another and Star Wars another. But they often only do one big exclusive set reveal at the show. It all depends on what they have in the pipeline and what has already been seen. I would not expect a SW reveal this time as the timing seems off. They only thing they would have to show would be the new rumored UCS ship. Probably Slave I. But they won't show that on top of the Tumbler. We will probably see one of the Hobbit Bo5A sets. They like showing Middle Earth sets at SDCC. Quote
8BrickMario Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 I was going to pass on the Starblaster Showdown, but now that I realize the Nova ship is squid-shaped, I may just have to get it! Quote
Faefrost Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) Some potential bad news for Fantastic Four fans. I know we have been hoping that Marvel would do a set, especially now with that perfect flaming head piece from Ultra Agents... But rumor has it that Marvel is so pissed at Fox right now that they are essentially burying the property until well after Fox's FF movie. No comics, no merchandising, nothing that will help the public remember the FF as anything other than the 2 awful Fox FF movies. Currently the FF is not slated to be part of marvel's 75th anniversary. So those horrid bootlegs may be all we ever see. Edited June 2, 2014 by Faefrost Quote
