Ultron Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 I know it probably wont happen but what if we get a Wayne Manor, just throwing it out there! I doubt it since Arkham Asylum is still on the market and that'd be two large Batman buildings competing against each other. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 I think Marvel might finally see Fox's X-Men and eventual Fantastic Four movies as a threat, but now it feels like Marvel is only using their comics to promote the movies which is frankly a little insulting. It really seems as though Marvel is in the movie business and makes comic book advertisements. I mean, we have seen a number of times in the past where continuity has changed to suit upcoming movies. The first one I think of is when they gave Spider-Man natural web-shooters to match up with Sam Raimi movies. Didn't they also put him back in the black suit around the release of Spider-Man 3? Quote
kevkipo Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Just got the Starblaster Showdown (all 3 GOTG sets are available at Belgian Lego Stores for the Dutch/Belgian among us) and i must say I IT the Nova Starblaster is very well designed and has a good look, and it is nice to get a Shakaraan ship. I was buying this just for Star-Lord but the whole set is just great! and of course Star-Lord is faboulus :) I think this is a fantastic army builder Quote
montgocloud Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Question: is Marvel miffed at Fox because they are casting an African-American male as Johnny Storm? No. And it's not even because they're casting younger people. Marvel tried to reaccquire the rights not too long ago and Fox obviously denied. So Marvel is deciding to phase out some of their oldest characters from relevancy... Great plan...? Quote
just2good Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 WOW THE LEGO MOVIE BATWING? http://brickfanatics...n-the-ucs-sets/ THAT WOULD BE PRETTY COOL.I bet we get green lantern in it. The batwing in the lego movie is huge!! Plus it seats 4-6 figures! Maybe It will have a rebuild into lego movie batmobile like the movie if this is true... Would The LEGO Movie Batwing UCS transform into that awesome Batmobile found before they got into Cloud Cuckoo? If it does, I'm sold! But, I had a thought... What if it's a Tumbler, a Batwing, and the Batmobile found on the Batman poster? Keep in mind, this UCS set is priced at $200. The Batmobile on the poster looks cheap, and the Batwing in the LEGO Movie would make like a $70 set. It could be multiple UCS models! Wouldn't that be cool? It'd be like the TIE Collection from 2004... Quote
Dr Leg O Brick Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 To be honest, I would buy it if it was that fantastic Batwing, Adam West Batmobile, and Bat-tank. Maybe the tumbler from the poster (AKA recolored Bane Tumbler), along with the other models? Perhaps a few Batsuits (that recolored one from the Riddler set this year, purple Batman and Adam West one from this year?). Quote
legofreak86 Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Yeah a set of The Lego movie Wing, movie tank , Westmobile, Recolored Tumbler. Maybe a batman suit for each vehicle: Like a Black riddler chase version, Begins Batsuit for tumbler, West Batman and purple planet X one and maybe Alfred to complete the 75th anniversary feel. If it was just the Lego movie wing I think it wouldn't be a Lego movie set. I would reckon it'd be the wing in a batman situation with a villain in a smaller vehicle. Maybe Black riddler chase version, Green lantern and a villain maybe ras as he is a big iconic batman antagonist. Quote
Ashnflash Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Ya I think it will be a black Riddler suit like on the calendar Quote
legofreak86 Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 (edited) I mean to add a bit of clarity lets put together as far as we know what we know: In the march store calendar an as yet unseen black variant of the riddler chase batman is present. Rumour has It that a UCS Nolan trilogy Tumbler is to be released in the autumn. Sources say that we may be getting a green lantern figure later this year. The 75th anniversary posters released show both a recolored bane tumbler an Adam west style batmobile and a Batman zur en arrh variant figure. Lego's competition confirms a DC superheroes set is coming later in the year. An unknown set is being revealed at SDCC on the day of Batman's 75th anniversary and VIPs get early access. now a new bit of information gives the impression there will be a UCS Lego movie batwing and that is this upcoming set. Whether there is more than one set is unknown. A Third lego Batman Game is coming out in autumn which features other planets (perhaps zur en arrh?) For the zur en arrh I reckon that it will be included with the game like previous games (bad news for me cause I don't have a console and last figure included with pc game was luthor 2 years ago so ill have to buy an expensive console version just for figure then sell game to get Pc version) Tumbler for Nolan would work but only with figures included. Batwing from lego movie is an excellent idea and with some cool figures/features it would work. Green lantern perhaps? Edited June 3, 2014 by legofreak86 Quote
rosalind14 Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 If Zur-En-Arrh is an SDCC special, I swear I may stop collecting. In protest. That'll be after I've sobbed for 45mins uncontrollably. Quote
Master_Data Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Somebody in the Special Themes forum built The LEGO Movie Batwing as close to the original as he could get. Based on the difficulties he presented and the sheer size of the thing, they would have to alter the design quite a bit. That would be really cool, but, if you looked really closely in the movie, the gigantic wings get switched out for the old UCS Batmobile tail wings. Like I mentioned, this would be awesome, but it would diverge from the movie so much. I would rather have a relatively accurate Tumbler than an inaccurate LEGO Movie Batwing. Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Hm, I guess a "Batmobiles through the years" set would fit in with the anniversary theme. I'm not totally convinced, but we'll see. Quote

TheBrickHitHouse Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 I couldn't understand how a film made to sell toys would prominently feature a toy - and not sell it. That batwing better get released! The Lego movie batmobile wouldn't be a bad release either. Excited! Quote
adotnamedstud Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 http://images.brickimedia.org/7/74/7784-4.png Lest we forget. We did "technically" get a UCS Tumbler with the last UCS vehicle. I hope this UCS isn't the tumbler but instead a Minifig scale tumbler with a new monorail system based off of Batman Begins, hell. Or any Batman continuum... Quote

deskp Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 it wasnt made to sell toys, it was made to earn box office bux, Lego didn't make the movie, Wb baught the rights. Quote

Moon_Knight Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I'll pass if the Batman set is the batwing from the Lego Movie. I find a 66' batmobile or tumbler way more appealing. I'll probably go with the UCS Slave I if it's the Lego Movie batwing. I'll be even more pissed if it's the batwing and includes GL. Quote

Ashnflash Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Bad news the exclusive set I think is the mini Cooper. :( http://www.hothbricks.com/2014/06/10242-lego-creator-mini-cooper-mk-vii-lannonce-officielle/ Quote
Dharkan Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I'm going change the topic with a different question. Do you think DC and Marvel Superheroes theme will be the new Star Wars? I mean, comic universe is even more never-ending than Star Wars. And so far LEGO did a nice job with the sets and especially figs. Do you think they can keep up? or do you think they want to keep up? Quote
adotnamedstud Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Bad news the exclusive set I think is the mini Cooper. :( http://www.hothbrick...nce-officielle/ Don't give your hopes up. ReBrick said a new Batman product. We should see something significant sooner or later. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I actually think that is a a safe presumption for the future--although I and perhaps others still consider Superheroes in its infancy (only a baby would not have universal Leg printing after all! This is 2014 Lego! Every other theme has it!) the Superheroes theme is doing very well, considering it's now labeled as "evergreen" and is one of the top selling themes with Star Wars and City. But I also think we have a long way to go to get to our "golden age" of Superhero sets. We still only get a few sets a year for each sub theme (Marvel and DC), and it'll be a while until we get to the production levels of Star Wars or City. I actually think that the Superheroes theme would evolve well into something like the City theme--with many smaller sets in the $20 or under range that could pump out characters; which is the main thing most people are after with Superhero sets; the superheroes! I think the only limitations on this theme is the IP's desire to focus on narrowed topics--such as Marvel wants Ultimate Spider-Man and DC wants Batman. That's not entirely bad to a point, however I think the line suffers when we only get a few "new" characters a year with dozens of duplicates of Spider-Man and Batman. I know they are the biggest sellers of the Superheroes theme, but I don't think we'll reach a golden age on par with current Star Wars or City until we get to the point where we have a much broader production of sets with more and more new characters (supplemented by continual Spider-Man and Batman sets). Still, I think it's safe to say the future is very bright for this theme. Quote
just2good Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 I got around to reviewing and building The Knowhere Escape Mission GotG set! - Sorry about the lighting in this one, the width and height made it hard to take this picture. Overall, this set is a very good set for the minifigures and pieces alone. You get the awesome Rocket Raccoon, and the very detailed Nebula; the miniature figure of Groot is pretty fun and poseable, albeit a bit thin on the arms. The price is excellent as well, and is below the PPP ratio. The playset build, however, is pretty week and not very exciting. Quote
