DJ Bricks Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Everyones assuming that there will be an equal number of DC and Marvel sets, but isn't it possible that with so many Marvel properties next year, these four DC sets might be all we're getting? That would leave space for 8 or 9 Marvel sets, which would be enough I think: 1 ASM, 1 USM, 2 Ca:TWS, 2 T:TDW, 2 GOTG Store exclusive are not normally show in the catalouge. So we might get one or two B-Man sets that are exclusive. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Just make with the pics already!!!!!! We didn't even get pics last year. Quote
Carousel Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 You're dead on! Okay so here's what I can remember from the images: The Penguin Face-Off: Might be one of the best $13 LEGO sets ever. Comes with Batman, the Penguin and two robot penguin henchmen with dynamite. Batman has some sort of jet ski (I can't recall if it's similar to the polybag) and the Penguin has a duck-like flotation ride similar to the Batman Returns design. The Man-Bat Attack: Batman, Robin (I thought it might've been Nightwing, but he looks really cool!) and Man-Bat. Really cool looking Bat-Helicopter. Could retail for $25 The Riddler Chase: We've all seen it. The Joker Steam Roller: This is the one I'm most excited for. 5 total minifigures, but all I could make out was Batman and the Joker (purple hat included!). While the box art made it look like two heroes and three villians, I am not ruling out the possibility of the other hero being Nightwing. The Steam Roller looks ridiculously awesome, with a ton of great colors. Batman's vehicle is a jet, with similar wing functionality to that of the Republic Striker from the Old Republic line. Golly gosh, these sets sound really great! If correct, the Penguin set does indeed sound very promising. For those without Arkham, a great opportunity to get their paws on the Penguin. I certainly hope the henchmen are of good quality, and I like the prospect of getting a typical penguin vehicle. Man-Bat sounds enticing, and if there is the inclusion of Nightwing, it may prove to be even more an attractive a set. The whole concept of the Steam Roller seems totally like a Joker thing to do, and I really do look forward to it. I hope there is another prominent villain in the mix, such as Killer Moth (crosses fingers). And also, Purple Joker hat, if true, yay! Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Just make with the pics already!!!!!! Stop this behavior now. Posting like this will not make pictures appear any faster. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 (edited) Honestly, I'm hoping for more than just Killer Moth and Man-Bat. This year alone we got: Scarecrow, the penguin, Aquaman, Lois Lane, Faora, General Zod, Gordon, and Mr. Freeze. That's 7 new figs (as scarecrow, the penguin and Mr. Freeze were only available in the batman theme), we also got a new artic batman, TDKR, and black winged batman figs. We got a Harleen Quinzel AND a new Robin, I don't think I have the right to judge these sets right now, I really don't but I have anyways. I think my opinions will change later on, but we need more than just the flash to wow us in the wave. However, and I know you will all hate that I even bothered to say this but I really do hope the 4 rumoured sets will be put in with the 6 per-existing ones. You know, so this year we get 10 sets and in 2014 lego can redeem themselves. But that would mean a lot of work that just won't happen. But am I the only one that hopes since we already have 6 sets, and 4 are rumoured, that Lego just gives us 10 sets so we can have more variety in 2014? I know that would let them open up to more realms in in this theme. But I was just thinking out loud there. However I do hope pictures and announcements are made later, I like the suspense and surprises, it pumps up my wishing gas (I know sounded strange) Edited August 17, 2013 by STSH2013Lego Quote
Carousel Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 One thing that's certainly nice to see is that Lego is deviating from merely just revamping the 2006 Batman sets and is now actually using new ideas. Good job. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 ^ True, but they still seem fixated on making almost every set vehicle-centric. I would gladly welcome more sets like the Funhouse Escape. Quote
Legoman123 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 (edited) Well because there is going to be two exclusives, maybe the smaller out of the two could be a £70 Wayne Manor ? Just a thought. Then the larger exclusive could be a Marvel set, possibly X-mansion, or even Stark Tower. Edited August 17, 2013 by Legoman123 Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 FYI, it hasn't been confirmed anywhere that there will be two exclusives. Quote

Piranha Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Lego Marvel Spotlight video: Nothing really interesting, other than it was confirmed that no Marvel sets were shown to keep them secret until launch (which would imply being based on upcoming films, which also is not a surprise). Quote
Pulp Detective Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Well I bet that the Marvel sets in the winter wave either will be the thor:dark world sets or captain america:winter soldier sets. But that damn secrecy piss me off. Quote
Ceroknight Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Isn't winter all DC and summer all Marvel like 2012? Quote
Pulp Detective Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Well this year the winter wave included dc and marvels sets so I presume that Lego will do the same next year. Quote

I still don't think we will. I've been saying this from the beginning, but all the Marvel movies come in the Summer next year (that we'll be most likely getting sets for). If anything, we might get a D2C Marvel set in January. Quote

D2C means Exculsive to LEGO stores and the LEGO website. Two examples are Arkham Asylum and the Tower of Orthanc, usually D2C sets are large and over £100. Quote
jonwil Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I guess it'll be his classic mobster hat/ fedora hat or the Nicholson hat: I do prefer the 'fedora-like' one though. I concur that the Fedora in Purple is the most likely hat for Joker. Also, +1 to all the people asking for DC comics sets without Batman. So far the only DC comics sets we got without Batman have been the Superman/Wonder Woman set and the 3 sets for Man Of Steel, more would definatly be nice. As for Marvell, less Spider Man please and more X-Men. (and make it some of the more interesting X-Men like Professor X or Beast or Gambit, not the same X-Men we haven't already gotten) Marvell sets at the same size/piece count as, say, set 60000 would be nice as would cheaper sets with the harder-to-get Avengers characters like Hulk. (only reason I dont own an Iron Man yet is that even the cheapest Iron Man set is too expensive in my country) Quote
TheLegoDr Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I'd love more variety in figures. I love Batman but u don't need 10 copies of him. But I do need his villains, so that adds to it. However I think LEGO is selling what is hot right now. DC doesn't have a lot of current heroes to market. Batman/Superman are what is on people's minds right now, so that is who they will make sets for. Quote

Damn I'm not such a big fan of the exculsive sets(because they cost to much) but still they're cool nonetheless any way thanks for explaining. Edited August 18, 2013 by LOTR343 Quote

But I do need his villains, I agree, there's an almost infinite number of batman villains, and I would also like some sidekicks (*cough* Nightwing *cough*). I also think that the riddlers dragster looks really frail. Quote
thatblockoguy Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 (edited) We could also get new sets based on the new Avengers Assemble cartoon, the same way we have sets based on Ultimate Spiderman Edited August 18, 2013 by thatblockoguy Quote
