8BrickMario Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Well, GotG sets are more likely due to the whole FF disaster discussed a few pages back. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I would be surprised if we don't see Coulson and Lola in a set. Not necessarily for Agents of SHIELD, but maybe something like the Nick Fury/Spider-Man/Venom set. After playing through LEGO Marvel Superheroes again and getting a good look at the Hulkbuster suit, it's beginning to look relatively similar to the concept art we saw for Avengers 2, and I'm pretty sure I saw some hinges for the head on it, too. I'm thinking that that might just be the Age of Ultron Hulkbuster we get. Mention SDCC exclusive Quicksilver in any form again I DARE YOU. Speaking of dares, did the news of Kingpin's casting in the new Daredevil series, the pretty serious rumor that a Hulk movie is in the works, the slightly less serious rumor that Jason Momoa has in fact been cast as Aquaman in Batman v Superman and Justice League, and the even less serious rumor that a Shazam movie has been confirmed with Dwayne Johnson in the role of Black Adam make it's way here yet? SoupOrFishOil Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I think four is the perfect number. Its enough to give us all the major characters in the film. Anything more will take away from the other Marvel brands, and we can only get so many sets per year. My ideal line up for Marvel's 2015 range would be: 4 sets for Avengers: Age of Ultron 3 sets for Ultimate Spider-Man 1 set for Avengers: Assemble (perfect excuse to include characters like Ant-Man, Winter Soldier etc) 1 set for Fantastic Four/Guardians of the Galaxy cartoon 1 D2C exclusive for X-Men I agree with BFN that cartoon and movie Avengers in the same year would seem like a strange choice, though I am sure they will want to get Ant-Man in next year's line-up somehow. I don't expect we'll get sets based on his movie (just going by speculation that LEGO can only do one MCU movie a year without paying extra; though 2015 would be the year to do it because he needs all the marketing he can get), so I guess we could get something from the cartoon after all. The GotG sets from this year should still be on the shelves next year, and apparently Marvel doesn't want to push the FF or X-Men, so I wouldn't get my hopes up for any of those. Three USM sets sounds right though.... I hope that the rebranding won't keep White Tiger out of the mix, though the prospect of Miles Morales is exciting. Quote
Dharkan Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I don't mind a random X-Men set like this year but yes, we probably won't get anything from the movie, just like FF situation. :( Quote
Borex Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I'll keep my fingers crossed for yellow-green vision and comic scarlet witch! Quote
StarLord1987 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 It would be kinda interesting to have ant man sets, never thought of that before , a set with wasp and ant man would be so cool Well I was watching hulk and the agents of smash and the inhumans made an appearance in an episode, and Then someone in Marvel told that marvel did actually want to push the inhumans and want them to be recognized, saying they could push them to the mcu, I wondered if we could at least have sets based on it,that would be interesting. BlueberryWaffles Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I really want a Marvel D2C next year because DC got one last year and Marvel still hasn't got one. The X-Mansion would be the obvious choice except that Marvel/Fox feud right now. The Helicarrier could be a possibility. Quote
TheLegoExperience Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 The Helicarrier could be a possibility. I don't think this is a possibility due to the sheer size of the thing. Isn't there a CUUSOO Lego Ideas Helicarrier project that is like 5000 pieces? The closest I can see is another Hulk's Helicarrier Breakout type set. Quote

Awesome. I'm a bit more hopeful. My Marvel wishlist for 2015 is... 5 Avengers 3 Spiderman 2 Avengers assemble (or ant man) 2 guardians (I'd like some FF but it just isn't gonna happen) 1 X-Men D2C We got 9 sets this year why not hope for more next year, is 12 + a D2C too much too ask... Yeah, I know probably, but I'm asking anyway! Quote
rodiziorobs Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 (edited) It would be kinda interesting to have ant man sets, never thought of that before , a set with wasp and ant man would be so cool. If this does happen, I want the set to have one minifig-sized Ant-Man and another the size of the minifig trophy (a la Jack Sparrow), or at the very least, Heroica-sized. Three USM sets sounds right though.... I hope that the rebranding won't keep White Tiger out of the mix, though the prospect of Miles Morales is exciting. I'm sure there are no limits on the number of movies per year, rather it is economic calculations. If you look carefully you will notice that movie licenses based on unknown or unproven properties are far far riskier than properties with a clear supporting franchise. So Avengers 2 will be a slam dunk for merchandising. Ant Man much less so. It's why we do not see Disney sets based on Frozen or Wreck it Ralph. It's why we did not see Pixar sets until Toy Story and Cars 2. Are there exceptions? Yes. GotG is most likely getting a huge marketing push from Disney. Those three sets are probably on their list of must do's for the year. Plus GotG sits in a particularly attractive place for TLG. It stands at the intersection between Super Heroes and Star Wars. I'm guessing the bean counters saw a lot less risk there than they do with Big Hero 6. Now this does not mean that every franchise gets a merchandise or Lego push. As the perfect example Thor 2. Lego steered clear of that one largely because the toy merchandising for Thor 1 did awful. And sometimes it is just a matter of target market. Captain America the Winter Soldier is really not a kids movie. It is by far the most adult of the Marvel movies. It was likely felt that it might not be a good match for sets. But they snuck around that by giving us some Cap related sets from the AA cartoon. Quote
Marvelfan120 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Hope I'm not re-posting but I ran across this article on IGN about a lego ideas campaign for a MAOS set... Interesting. http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/06/16/campaigning-for-a-marvels-agents-of-shield-lego-set-has-begun Quote
CC-3636 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 My Marvel wishlist for 2015 is... 4 Avengers: Age of Ultron sets 2 Ultimate Spider-man sets 2 Ant-man sets 2 X-Men sets Quote
Cammo Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 (edited) So we'll get a new Quinjet then: "a recent Disney media event where these details were uncovered, along with storyboards, concept art and rough animation. Producer Kevin Feige said that the new Avengers Tower will be the largest ever for a Marvel movie, featuring a massive landing platform and garage for the new Quinjet that is filled with "techno stuff" and a "chic lab" where Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), a.k.a. the "Science Bros," work together. The Quinjet itself has also been redesigned with more chairs to accommodate all of the Avengers, along with an array of new weaponry." And some ideas about the costume designs: "Mark Ruffalo's Hulk will also have a new look, featuring dark purple "extendable pants" that contract and expand with his Hulk transformations, with an Avengers logo that is featured on all of the heroes' new costumes. Black Widow's costume is said to be "Tron-style," with blue lights all around the suit. The costume also has a new elctro-shock feature known as "the widow sting," which will give her enemies a jolt of electricity that gives her an edge over other Avengers heroes." source: http://www.movieweb....etails-revealed Edited June 20, 2014 by Cammo Quote

Tony Stark will also wear the Mark 44 suit known as The Hulkbuster, which was revealed in concept art images released back in March." Obviously we'll see a new Iron Man minifig, but could we also be getting a hulkbuster? :D Quote
Dharkan Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Depends on if it we are going to get 2 big figures, Hulk and Hulkbuster. We probably will but I don't want them to have same mould. Quote
deskp Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Depends on if it we are going to get 2 big figures, Hulk and Hulkbuster. We probably will but I don't want them to have same mould. You think the hulkbuster would have toes aswell as hulks hair? Quote
wesker Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 I think the Hulkbuster stands a better chance of being a buildable figure like Groot and the Sentinel. I can't really see Lego releasing two big figures in the same set. Quote
Colossus Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Hmmm...a brickbuilt vs. Bigfig Hulkbuster. Is it too much to ask for both? How about a base Hulkbuster Bigfig body that has studs to attach Lego-fied Stark armor? Quote
SMC Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 brickbuilt hulkbuster is most likely as we have 2 hulks already I hope this time we get a battle damaged hulk like Leonardo in 79118 Quote
8BrickMario Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Maybe the new Hulk would have a removable head like Mungus? The Hulkbuster might be like the Sentinel. Another purple-pants Hulk, but with the logo now, too? And Black Widow should be interesting. Does anyone think the Avengers Tower could be a D2C? Quote
kevkipo Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 *Spot* Oh wow how is this possible :P This morning when i posted the Milano Spot i didn't notice your post? Whaaaattt? Quote
