Freddy Bricker Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I would expect them to do something Arkham Origins related, but not an actual Arkham Origins set. I think we got an Arkham City based minifigure or two this year didn't we? But no actual Arkham City based sets. It'd be nice, but I would prefer a set focused on anything other than Batman. A collection can never be too big but damn Batman is just taking up so much space. I got a bit off topic there, but all this talk about Batman its almost as if the theme is his and his alone. Quote

Lego has never does anything even remotley related to the arkham games, and I don't think they ever will. Quote
wesker Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I thought the Robin and Mr. Freeze minifigures in the Asylum were based on their Arkham City appearances? Quote

SoupOrFishOil Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 The gate and logo from 10937 seem to be based on the games, too. (I'm just going by what other people have said. ) Quote

strangely Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 All of the Batman stuff is loosely inspired by something, but rarely is it directly based on anything (Other than movie specific stuff mostly). In the Arkham set the sign and logo and a few of the minifigures definitely seem to have been influenced by the game, but are not supposed to represent that game. A few design elements served as inspiration which is why although similar to the Arkham stuff it still ends up being a unique variation. Quote
Legoman123 Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 They are not. I'm sure they are, look at Mr.Freeze from the game, and then look at the version in the set... He is based off of Arkham City. Quote
Sam892 Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 You guys do realise that the Arkham games have taken inspiration from the Comics and TV shows. Robin is a Great example, the Hooded costume has appeared in comics long before Arkham City. While Mr Freeze looks similar, I'm sure there's no connection or little. LEGO most likely had a look at what current pieces they could use for the Helmet, saw the Atlantis headpiece and used that as it looked best. Until LEGO states that its inspired by the Games then there are not, just like the Chopper showdown isn't inspired by Wolverine Origins. Quote
wilson3a10 Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 The batmobile is like an old lego racing car. BTW it is nice. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Until LEGO states that its inspired by the Games then there are not, just like the Chopper showdown isn't inspired by Wolverine Origins. 'Inspired by' is such a loose phrase that's open for interpretation. Nobody can say definitively what is or isn't inspired by anything except for the LEGO team themselves. You could be right, and the people who designed both the Wolverine set and artwork could've never had Origins in mind, but Wovlerine launching himself from a motorcycle onto a helicopter seems suspiciously similar to the movie scene (that was heavily shown in the trailers as well). As for Mr. Freeze, the helmet chosen looks 100% like the Arkham City helmet. I don't believe a similar helmet was ever used for Freeze before, so it's a hard case to argue that LEGO didn't look to the game and at least say 'oh, well we can use this helmet because at least one version of Mr. Freeze has something similar.' Otherwise, they could've used the old bubble helmet again. It doesn't make it a game tie-in, and I'm sure they're never going to make a set and slap the 'Arkham' game logo on it, but they can still take inspirations fro the design. Quote
deskp Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Inspiration maybe but it is 100% not based of the game. Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 They are. I think that Deskp means the sets, in which case they aren't. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Inspiration maybe but it is 100% not based of the game. That's what I was trying to say. Looking back I can agree that it may have sounded like I thought we got completely Arkham based minifgures. What I meant to say was that they were inspired or got a look similar to that of the game. Not completely based. Quote
MaxBrick Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I just bought the Arkham Asylum Breakout set and have to say I love it! I really love the replaceable faceplates for the prison cells, which led me to an idea. With the hopeful release of new villains through the future, wouldn't it be cool if they each came with their own face plates in the sets to put them in Arkham? Quote
RaincloudDustbin Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I actually said that months ago but Im guessing you didn't read it. Quote
Piranha Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Inspiration maybe but it is 100% not based of the game. Don't forget LEGO did make this official poster as a promo for LEGO Batman 2, which is clearly based on the official Arkham City one. I think it is safe to say they took elements from the game and incorporated them into the sets, and possibly will do so again. Quote

The poster is obviously based off of the game, but does not have the Arkham logo on it. It is definitely based on the looks on the game, but is based on the designs of the pre-existing lego Robin, while using the Arkham design. They were inspired, but not COMPLETELY based on the sets. THANK YOU I finally got my point across. Not that this was an argument. Just kidding this was totally an argument haha but glad someone see's it how I saw it. this was a fun talk. Thats for the videogame, the arkham game and the lego game is released by the same publisher. As i said the figures might be somewhat inspired by the game, as all figs are generaly inspired by something. but lego have never made any figs that are from the game, how tdkr batman or beware the batman figs have been made. and I do not thing it will ever happen. You're contradicting your self there. TDKR minifigures have been made but there are no Beware the Batman minifigs. I believe you are referring to the ones from the Flash set and if so you are wrong, it has merely been speculation that it is based off of BTB but there is no branding as was on TDKR set. Well we haven't seen the box packaging for the Riddler Chase, so it is possible they will slap on that logo and it will be the BWTB suit. Also I believe (I may be or I am somewhat wrong in this) that it was confirmed to be BWTB. Time will tell, so I think it's just a tad early to make that comment. The branding is irrelewant they are using direct designs from the show, both the car and batman are based of the show completely. Quote
