What's that grey piece inside the back engine cone? The interior looks great.

It looks like a grey barrel piece to me. :classic:

The 66 Batmobile will be a SDCC exclusive, but it will probably be a mini, like the Ghost.

Thanks Gremer. Not as exciting as I was hoping but at least we get the UCS Tumbler

This rocks so much! I'm not a huge Batman fan or anything but this sets looks just great and reminds me a bit of the 8880 Super Car I sold before my Dark Ages. Very excited about this release!

If GOTG 2 doesn't have the Annihilus wave storyline I am going to be very upset and same thing with Avenger 3, I'm patiently waiting for the civil war storyline to occur.

Realistically speaking if Lego made Avenger mansion or Xavier's school it would come out bad. Especially since the Xavier's school wouldn't even have Cerebro since that's a huge room underground the mansion. Avengers mansion hasn't even been unveiled yet, from the Avengers movie the main base of headquarters was the Helicarrier and Tony Stark's penthouse and to have a Doctor Strange Mansion Marvel would have to make a movie to pus the character since Dr Strange is a really under the radar character. Same thing for the fantasticar since Fox owns the rights and the Reboot hasn't even released yet. UCS Asgard would be really difficult since it would require Lego basically making a new city. UCS Gotg sets are way too soon to happen since it depends on more of a sells thing if the public even likes the sets and the design of the ships.

However I do believe the possibility of UCS Blackbird would be really cool and possible. I would definitely buy, especially if it came with a UCS Nimrod or Master Mold Sentinel.

GotG might not be able to use Annihilus, which becomes an issue obviously as Annihilus is tied to the FF License which Fox currently has. Part of the bad blood between the head of Marvel and the head of Fox stem from Marvel's offer to extend Fox's contracts for Daredevil, Electra, Punisher and Ghost Rider, which were expiring. In return they wanted a block of FF villains returned to Marvel for use with Avengers. Galactus, Silver Surfer, Annihilus and the Skrulls. Fox did not simply say no, rather the head of Fox studios apparently went insane on hearing this request. Prompting the current state of affairs.

This is an incredible set and Lego have really done it justice. It's a shame it isn't minifigure scale and doesn't come with the batpod but I can overlook that. I have to say though it would've been great to see a few more figures. Lucius Fox designed the thing so he would've been good also Ras Al Ghul (liam neeson), catwoman and scarecrow would've been good too. However the Joker figure is wicked! The begins batman is very well done (shame about no eyes but oh well) I love that the plaque is a wayne industries applied sciences rundown of the fetures which is a great touch.

Petition Regarding SDCC Exclusives?

You know, instead of just whining and griping every year about the SDCC exclusives, why don't we bring together our collective voices and send them to LEGO directly? Power in numbers.

There are certainly enough people it seems that feel that this system is extremely unfair.

What do people think?

I was thinking the same thing, in fact we could do with a website where people can ask lego for things and people can support it, like bring back classic space or no more exclusives and lego can see how many people want it, someone want to make it?

This sounds like a fantastic idea. I don't have near enough of the technical skills to do this, but I am happy to support this idea.

The one thing I would say from the outset is that we need to keep things simple at first. When people start putting in every one of their grievances, it really dilutes or drowns out the main message.

The message in my mind is that the SDCC Exclusive system is unfair on at least these levels:

1) Not everyone (in fact the vast, vast majority of LEGO customers) can or will ever be able to attend the SDCC.

2) The fact that the SDCC Exclusive minifigures never gets released up in general circulation (even if it is a year or two year later) means that they are almost like contraband snapped up by scalpers -- people who have nothing to do with LEGO, are not loyal customers of LEGO but are simply leeches looking to exploit a supply / demand dislocation into a greedy profit.

3) This ends up rewarding the absolute wrong segment (i.e. scalping non-LEGO fans) while the vast majority of LEGO fans worldwide end up feeling very frustrated and unappreciated for their loyalty.

A nice idea, although it is probably useless. I'm trying for 2 years now to get people to write letters to TLG and to complain about how unfair their comic con policy is. I also pointed out alternatives. I used my Arkham Asylum MOC which generated 1,000,000 clicks to spread the message but NOTHING happened.

Fact is, as long as TLG is making loads and loads of money from us, they don't care and ignore us. I'm afraid and sure no petition will change that, sad as it is.

I know it's frustrating. I am pretty realistic that it may not have an effect.

But having said that, if people take the time out to write gripes every year on a message board. Well, isn't it worth the extra effort to collect all of those gripes together? Worth a shot at least?

You are right. While there is life, there is hope. I'd be among the first to sign the petition.

I might get the UCS Tumbler but the figs will play a big part in that I would have definitely pick up a big d2c batman dark knight set if it was minifigure scale and had other characters like Alfred, Lucius Fox, Harvey Dent, Scarecrow, Ducard, Rachel Dawes.

I don't have any UCS sets are there any differences between these and other big d2c sets other than the name and card plate thing (which I am not looking forward to putting the sticker on)

The display card is usually printed, I think.

There is a slight downside to the Tumbler reveal: now it's entirely possible that the DC exclusive minifig might be movie-related just like the other three (or four, if you count Rocket Raccoon). I really hope not though, I don't want TDK Two-Face or Scarecrow to be exclusive like that :cry_sad:

What if the Lego DC exclusive is Catwoman from the TDKR? It would make sense, we don't have a exclusive female yet and she would just be a variant.

Makes sense. Even though I don't collect DC, I'd be interested in seeing the torso / legs on a new Catwoman.

Thanks for the news, j2g.

The TDK Barmobile looks well done, for those of you into it. Easy pass for me, though.
