Zergos Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I sure hope that those are characters coming out eventually, cause I want that captain cold and reverse flash and basically every other character, but mostly those two!!! O my goodness, so excited!!!!!! Quote
Cammo Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 First time that France has the 110% price treatment when you compare to Germany. Seems like there's no advantage to getting it here in Belgium or at the Lille Lego Store. At 220,00 it's not such a steal as I would have wanted. Nonetheless I'll buy it the first chance I'll get. _epicster_ Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Sinestro and GL would be awesome in a $12.99 set similar to the Gandalf the Grey vs Gandalf the White in the LOTR line. Quote
Erathor Pridenar of Loreos Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Honestly, the only reason I'd think about getting this is for The Joker. Heath Ledger was awesome in the film! The set does look good, though. Quote
KCMatze Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 The disgner in the video always talks of stickers, and it really looks like stickers... who said it was confirmed printed pieces?! That is a major bummer in my view. Messed up stickers can ruin a 200 (TWO HUNDRED) Euro set. Quote
Kez Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 That designer makes the model look even better, and tbh I'm quite satisfied by the £160 price tag, I just need to start saving. Quote

That is a major bummer in my view. Messed up stickers can ruin a 200 (TWO HUNDRED) Euro set. I wouldn't be surprised if it were all stickers. But you can clearly see in the video that the stickers used there aren't the ones we are getting. They are way too rough and badly cut + they aren't shiny. I just hope that the info plaque will be printed. Quote
EddyGtheNinja Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I really want to see a size comparison to the UCS Batmobile 7784 :) for those who have not seen the designer video yet.. Quote
Zilcho Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 It's a shame that the Ventriloquist and Scarface are not on there. I hope he does turn up in the game. At least most of the SDCC figs are there. It would be great to get them. And sinestro and super girl and the rest..... let's hope It's a shame that the Ventriloquist and Scarface are not on there. I hope he does turn up in the game. Ultron Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 You can very clearly tell they are stickers in that picture of the interior a page or so back..why is everyone so surprised? You guys thought we would get all of those pieces printed?? Yeah right! Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Heath has the distinction of being the only actor to win a posthumous Oscar I believe. Not quite, but close - Peter Finch won a posthumous Oscar for the 1976 classic Network. Each is unique in winning his particular posthumous Oscar, though - Finch's is for Best Actor, while Ledger's is for Best Supporting Actor. Other actors who received posthumous Oscar nominations include: Spencer Tracy, for Best Actor for Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967); Massimo Troisi, for Best Actor for Il Postino (1995); Jeanne Eagels, for Best Actress for The Letter (1929); Ralph Richardson, for Best Supporting Actor for Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984); and perhaps most notably, James Dean, the only actor to receive not one but two posthumous Oscar nominations (both for Best Actor), for East of Eden (1955) and Giant (1956). However, Finch and Ledger are the only ones who've actually won posthumous Oscars for acting, so far. (Apologies for the tangent. We now return you to your regularly scheduled LEGO discussion.) Quote

You guys thought we would get all of those pieces printed?? Yeah right! Well, in a 50 Euro Ideas set (Ghostbusters) were all pieces printed, and for a 200 Euro set this should be the way to goo, too. Stickers are just not good over a long period of time. Quote

I'm not sure why the ghostbusters set was printed though and this one isn't. Quote
TheLegoExperience Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 At about what time this will be off shelves? Maybe I can save enough to get it. Quote
Al CZ Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 And EU price ? I think - 200Euro (This isn't fair)... Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 So the dc exclusive minifigure has to be on that poster they revealed today, i could see cheetah, killer frost, or captain cold. It has to be a villain minifigure, somethings telling me that black canary could make it into a set, as well as a teen titans variation of cyborg since they are in the front with the justice league. Quote
Ezekiel2517 Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 The artist that made the drawing said,“I have had no advanced knowledge of the minfig exclusives for Comic-con. The depictions of characters and choices of characters were entirely based on personal preference and aesthetics." Quote
Cammo Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 And EU price ? I think - 200Euro (This isn't fair)... depends on the country ridiculously enough. 200-220 euro. Quote
Faefrost Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I agree they should be printed, but for some reason Lego hates printing pieces nowadays. I'm not sure why the ghostbusters set was printed though and this one isn't. One of the designers recently gave a bit of insight into it (I think Mark Stafford in that long Redit thread). Part of the problem with printed pieces is that they are extremely labor intensive. Unlike minifig printing which is very automated, printing on other parts typically requires special jigs and rigging and almost always requires manual feeding of the machine by somebody. Whereas stickers literally are "send batch job to printer. Pick up output a few minutes later". I think they can also do more colors at better detail levels with stickers these days. Quote
TheBrickPal Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 That Tumbler is great, but I'm not sure if I will buy it. It may come in black, but does it come in very, very dark grey? (LEGO Movie reference time!) Love that Joker the most! Quote
SMC Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 For UCS and $200 it should be the best, it should be printed Quote
TheLegoDr Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Printed also adds a lot of cost to a set and this set is already expensive. Just look at the Maersk ship they came out with. Expensive with a lot of detail and a ton of stickers. Anyway, I'd prefer printing if possible, but unlikely in most cool sets. The designers also need to keep within a budget and need certain elements in certain colors and that may take up too many slots of freedom they have. As far as the official version, it looks great. I will definitely pick it up eventually. There are too many other advanced sets I want to get before they retire and I'd assume this would be around a little while longer considering it is coming out this year. With that said, I may have to quit buying Star Wars sets to make up for the want in other areas. That Joker is great. I am surprised they didn't use the longer touseled hairpiece instead. Although this one is better than the other one they've been using, at least for this Joker. I am surprised they did the facial scars. And the Batman variant looks spot-on to the Begins suit. Now we just need a TDKR Catwoman and I'll be happy. (I'll gladly take Lucius Fox, Alfred, Ras, Scarecrow from the movies also). Quote
8BrickMario Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Lucius would be good, if only for a second LEGO Morgan Freeman! Quote
