NegativesAccount Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Oooh, that trailer was just great. I have never wanted to own a video game more in my life. Ever. It looks hilarious, and I would buy a game of just the '66 levels...add in the whole Green Lanterns storyline, and you've got something incredible. I know it won't happen, but god I want physical versions of all the '66 characters! Quote
-Horizon- Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) Not positive if anyone has said this but, Lego.com Tumbler listing. Edited July 25, 2014 by lego3364 Quote

Red Lantern Jamie Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 I really love the Heath Ledger Joker i think its spot on. Quote

BrickG Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Just saw GotG. I know people asked why Groot is so BIG in Lego form. I will now say something... WHY IS GROOT SO BIG IN LEGO FORM? He's ridiculously big in Lego and his mold can't exactly be shrunk. What the crap? How can Lego get it so wrong? Quote
DJ Bricks Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Just saw GotG. I know people asked why Groot is so BIG in Lego form. I will now say something... WHY IS GROOT SO BIG IN LEGO FORM? He's ridiculously big in Lego and his mold can't exactly be shrunk. What the crap? How can Lego get it so wrong? More playability, actually having Rocket on Groot. Doesnt he grow bigger than normal in the movie? I heard he did. Plus be grateful we got a Groot figure at all. Without all this push to make thwm complete public knowledg, without the movie we wouldnt have gotten theb Guardians at all. Quote
LMB10 Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Rocket being to big would be more excusable if they'd made Groot not so ridiculously oversized Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Just to let you guys know, Rocket's Warbird isn't in the movie. Like, at all. He was in a ship at the end but it didn't look anything like the Warbird. Plus now I really wish the Collector wasn't a SDCC figure. A WAY better one would be Star-Lord in his dark blue Nova Corps outfit with the Warbird coming with a dark blue Rocket. Now I really want the GOTG sets. I'm trying to come up with a fix for Groot, I think if you made his arms half as long and replaced his lower legs with some brown Mixel legs it might work. Quote
legofreak86 Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 (edited) After recently seeing guardians yesterday I have to say a large dark aster set would be quite cool. Details discussed in descriptions of characters could be spoilerish therefore I will not go into detail on what they mean in the film.: The ship of Ronan, it could come with some reissues if they wanted but it could do some variants. Figure wise it could have: Ronan(purple eyes and purple highlights on his chest), Nebula (angry face), Korath The Pursuer, Star Lord (scrapes and marks on his face and other side of his face with black skin and purple eyes), Drax (angry face), Rocket (ravagers outfit from Sdcc), Yondu, Groot (normal size), Gamora (same as star lord purple eyes and black skin on other side of face)or her main outfit from the movie which is black and sleeveless and not released thus far. Then one sakaran. The set itself could have the flight deck with large front open alcove/window, and a long black platform with a circular ridged area in the middle also a holographic screen could be swapped with the window. There would also be a throne for ronan near the window, another room would be the control room with green cylinders hanging down from the celing and an exploding wall section near the back of the room. The final room would be the engine room with lots of gears and cogs turning mechanisms but space for a fight. Just an idea to finish the characters we still need and have a nice big thing for the wave. Edited August 1, 2014 by legofreak86 Quote
LMB10 Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 That would be ridiculously expensive The room where the final confrontation takes place would be more reasonable Quote
Clone OPatra Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 After seeing GotG, I feel like LEGO really hit the nail on the head when it comes to the sets they made. They obviously can't do everything, and what they did do provides many major vehicles and all of the really important characters (besides potentially Yondu, but I don't see him fitting in any of these sets). For once we didn't have an Iron Man 3 situation where the sets were dead wrong, or a Man of Steel situation where the sets were just repetitive and dull. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I also thought the sets were very accurate. I'll be picking up the Milano for sure soon, and maybe Knowhere Escape. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Just found this on TLG's German facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/LEGOGermany?brand_redir=1 Another great LEGO-fied movie poster Quote
Faefrost Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 in looking at some better pictures of that SDCC Rocket Raccoon and Warbird I just realized something. I suspect that we are correct and that the fig is not a true SDCC exclusive. But not for the reasons we normally think. I think we have a fully uniformed Starlord fig somewhere in the pipeline, and the SDCC RR fig just used its Torso. That symbol on the front of the jacket is Starlord's crest or icon. So maybe that fig is just a recombination of parts that we will be getting? Quote
Clone OPatra Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 In the film that symbol is worn by all of Yondu's gang, and the Guardians get their outfits from Yondu's stash. I wouldn't read too much into it. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I think we have a fully uniformed Starlord fig somewhere in the pipeline, and the SDCC RR fig just used its Torso. I'm confused by this. We already got his fully uniformed outfit in the Milano, and RR has a different torso than that. What "full uniform" do you mean? Quote

For once we didn't have an Iron Man 3 situation where the sets were dead wrong, or a Man of Steel situation where the sets were just repetitive and dull. Agreed the accuracy was completely dead on! The dark aster was simply an idea for a set. Just cause it was a cool ship in the film. They did cover all of the main characters. FAR superior to Iron Man 3's wave. Quote
Colossus Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 (edited) This ^ ! I think the GOTG wave was very well executed. I would have liked a larger environment set than Knowhere, but I can't think of any one scene that I'd like as a set. Anyhoo, I ALMOST had buyer remorse purchasing all the GOTG sets in one fell swoop when they were first released. But after seeing this flick, I can't wait to get home n play with them with my kids. I asked my son whether he liked the movie, and his response was a huge smile and "I am Groot." I assume that means yes. Edited August 1, 2014 by Colossus Quote
ResIpsaLoquitur Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Is there any sign of a GotG Polybag in the wild? I'm not aware of one, but it's weird that there hasn't been one yet. Polys do tend to sneak up on us, though. Quote
Moon_Knight Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 (edited) After seeing GOTG yesterday, I just kep thinking, "More sets please!" It might not be the best Marvel movie to some but it was definitely my favorite. I'd like to see a Klyn escape set, Taneleer Tivan's museum, minifig scale Rocket's Warbird, more Nova Corps, and definitely Yondu. Edited August 2, 2014 by Moon_Knight Quote
