The_Chosen_1 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Too many Ultimate Spider-Man sets, not enough Marvel Cinematic Universe sets. I was also holding out hope for an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. set. Quote
wesker Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 To be fair the article only mentions three "Spider-Man" sets. It doesn't clarify whether they are based on the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon, the Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie or a mix of both. We also don't know how many sets we can expect from Guardians of the Galaxy. Quote
Marvelfan120 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 I for one am glad for some 'news' of any kind... I really wish we'd get more MCU sets but if it's true we're getting 3 spidy 2 winter solder and more for x-men and GotG that's sounds nice... As for getting sets for agents of SHIELD etc. I think we'll have to wait till after they renew the license. My theory is that Lego will realize what a cash cow the super heroes theme is and when they renew they will expand it a lot... Quote
Piranha Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 He's not on the list now because he never was. In the game comic Green Goblin turns into USM Green Goblin just as Bruce Banner turns into the Hulk! I know, I was referring to earlier speculation (not by me). 1. USM Gobby is part of the main game. Why does everybody think every single character they have shown in that Gamespot video is DLC exclusive? 2. Is there really only one character pack? LEGO Batman 2 had two and seeing how ever more games get DLC I really expect them to use DLCs to push that character list to 200. I think he's referring to how some claimed that the game designer was talking about USM Goblin being in a game DLC and not an actual, physical set. Yes, it was in reference to earlier speculation. legofreak86 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 I believe Lego will probably make some announcement on the Spidey sets first, I think I spotted a comment about the Avengers Assemble T.V series, and I just want to say that the probability of getting sets for that is unlikely. Indeed that is quite an unpopular show. I read that it isn't attracting the audience "EARTH'S MIGHTIEST HEROES" used to. The voice acting is atrocious and below the level of many other similar shows. EMH had personality whereas this has no visual flair or interesting plotlines. To be quite honest I don't think we have to worry about them basing sets of that because to marvel the god knows how many million dollar marvel movies are more important to promote to Disney than some run of the mill TV show. This what I expect for next year: January: dc: the 4 batman sets. Marvel: One captain America 2 set and one thor the dark world set. March: Marvel: 3 Spiderman Sets USM or ASM2 or a mixture of both. July: marvel: sets for gotg and X-men perhaps loosely based on days of future past. Either way these are the figures I'd expect next year: DC: Batman (riddler chase version), the flash, the joker, man bat, penguin, batgirl, Nightwing, 2 exclusive villains for the joker set. marvel: Thor(tdw), Malekith(tdw), Odin(tdw), Loki(tdw), Jane foster(tdw), Captain America(tws), The winter soldier, Steve rogers (tws), falcon(tws), Nick fury (MCU tws), Crossbones (tws), Black Widow (tws). If USM sets are in order then we can expect: Spiderman (duh), Green Goblin (big fig), White tiger, Agent Coulson, Power man, The Lizard. If ASM however we may get: ASM2 Spiderman, Electro (ASM2), Rhino (ASM2), Green Goblin (in green and black armour (rumoured)), Peter parker(ASM2), Gwen Stacy(ASM2) Xmen wise I would reckon either more main xmen in comic attire or dofp characters . Either way I'm hoping for a minfigure professor X that would be fantastic. Even if it wasn't a movie version the game one looks like Patrick Stewart anyway. I have never heard of guardians of the galaxy before now but I assume they are some sort of outer space bounty hunter esque team i do know Karen gillain is playing the villain though so that'll be interesting in minifgure form. In short i think 2014 sounds like a very good year for marvel superheroes. Plus some more batman is no blight on my collection. It will finally give us man bat so that's good. Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Just realized... Rocket Rackoon minifig. FTW. Quote
The Brigante Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 (edited) Personally, I reckon the Spidey sets will have Electro and Rhino as the villains, plus the Gobbie fig. My reasons are simple: if it is AMS2 then it's an explicit movie tie-in, if its not and they're USM sets (which I suspect) then Electro and Rhino are the best choice due to being the new bad guys in the movie, as well as being popular villains in USM and just in the comic world generally. I'm really hoping for Sandman as well. With the X-Men, I'm expecting/hoping/demanding comic versions. To my knowledge there's been no talk of LEGO acquiring the rights from Fox, plus the black leather wouldn't translate well into Lego. I'm really hoping they release Gambit and Havok as well! Marvelfan120 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Rhino and Electro would be cool. There are a lot of good villains in USM. I want to see white tiger and power man minifigs... Any new x-men figs would be great. Also, I'm still holding out for a D2C set. Quote
Legoman123 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Just a thought be these new avengers sets could be based off of the new TV series ? Quote
DJ Bricks Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Just a thought be these new avengers sets could be based off of the new TV series ? Nope, I think the person didn't know what they were, so they most likely are CA:TWS and the guy just though avengers. Sadly I don't think we will get ASM2 or TDW sets. Quote

Marvelfan120 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 anyone care to guess when lego will officially announce the sets Quote
Legoman123 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 (edited) anyone care to guess when lego will officially announce the sets Early to mid October I would think. Edited September 17, 2013 by Legoman123 Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Early to mid October I would think. Then I will definitely anticipate October. It'll be interesting, I hope whoever rumoured the X-Men sets are right, maybe we're getting 3 X-Men characters in a set instead of 3 sets in total? Quote
TheStrategist Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 I think the way described that lego juniors minifigs will be the same as the lego4juniors ones from years ago - oversized half way between a minifig and technic guy like the old Spider-Man ones they had and jack stone and pirates! I would think that you are correct. I can't see why they do these sets though. It seems like a confusing waste of the licence, especially to make such basic, primitive sets like Bats and Robin in the Batcave vs. Joker. Anyway, for anyone who was wondering about what those juniors sets looked like: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=4860-1 http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=4858-1 Quote

adotnamedstud Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 I'm excited for these sets, Marvel & DC. If 2014 will be a BIG year for LEGO I don't think they'd want to make Superheroes sets bad quality. If you come to think about the sets they sound pretty awesome (But there are no names for the Marvel sets) But DC wise I personally like all the sets. Sure some have flaws but I'm planning on getting the majority of the DC line . ANYWAYS I'm no going to lie, those look hideous. I would prefer they do duplo. I actually like them... Though I'm sure LEGO won't make the "whateverthosesare". Just a speculation here but I think they will make medium sized figs (a minifig x2 in size) That won't be Duplo. Or it will be Duplo... I'm not quite sure. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 I know this may or may not be the place to say this (I couldn't figure out where) but the mold on the series 11 Holiday Elf could be used as a Green goblin hat. Quote
8BrickMario Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 I don't like the Juniors figs. At all. We want minifigs, not stuck-together blocky action figures! Quote

I have no interest in that set... However, I am excited about the real sets we've heard about and am really wanting a marvel D2C set this year Quote

wesker Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Glad we're getting more DC heroes. I'm guessing the Green Lantern is the mystery hero thats supposed to be coming in the Joker Steam Roller set. Quote
Legoman123 Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Or the Green Lantern might just be in his own £40 exclusive set. Quote
