what I want to know is when we will finally get some marvel D2C sets

They might be doing a 2 year cycle to avoid flooding the market. I think we will probably see a Marvel D2C in 2015, perfect timing for the Avengers sequel, maybe that is what they are saving a Stark Tower or Helicarrier set for.

Would have been nice to have gotten one in January like this year but I doubt that will happen now the Maersk Line Triple-E has been revealed. Still there's always hope for later in the year.

Not necessarily, this year we got two D2C sets in January (the Horizon Express and Arkham Asylum) so this could happen next year as well There's another LEGO-related con in October, maybe something will be revealed there

As much as I am a Stark fan, I'd much prefer a Comics based FF/X Men/Avengers set/proper hall of Armour for Iron Man, or even better Castle Von Doom. Also, does anybody else hope we get some completely left field villain in the Spidey sets? I really didn't expect Dr Doom or Beetle so early in the licence, maybe Batroc the Leaper, Arcade or the Zodiac? Along with the compulsory Spider-Man villain, Kraven, Mysterio, and Electro would be my preferences.

I'm sure if there's a D2C for January 2014 for Marvel, it would be Stark Tower similar to the Tower of Orthanc.

The more I think about it now since we got the arkham asylum last year we could get a wayne manor to complete the batman sets and maybe a helicarrier in the summer wave.

Highly doubtful. I can't see LEGO making either a Helicarrier or Wayne manor. Wayne manor won't happen the closest thing we could get to it being an X-mansion. With the Helicarrier most of the stuff that makes it interesting has all ready been produced ( shield jets, Quinnjet, Starks lab and Loki's cell, even a small command bridge ). Really the same can be said for Stark tower.

But what would Stark Tower even include? Except Coulson and older armors there aren´t many new figs they could put in while staying movie based and the Avengers cartoon is probably off limits since other D2C sets were all for themes that weren´t overtly aimed only at children.

The announcement mentioning multiple X-Men sets really makes me think that D2C X-Mansion isn´t set in stone. If they don´t take the Fox license (which I hope for since their movies have terrible designs, especially for a childrens toy) multiple comic based sets are the way to go and would need a multitude of new molds for pretty much every villain and D2C sets can´t get new molds without them getting reused in a normal set within a month apparently.

I would expect the Helicarrier to be a regular set if they finally get to do 100+ sets for regular stores. Could incorporate many functions and would be good for a 2015/Avengers 2 release as a... flagship. On the other hand making it D2C could do wonders for the size but then you run into the same problems of getting some good exclusive figs within the movie line. Only getting Hill, Fury and Coulson would be a downer.

If it is like Orthanc, who says it would need lots of new figures? Orthanc only had one new figure made out of existing parts. Throw in Tony, Pepper, (movie version) Nick Fury, one or two armors and bam, you got a D2C.

I said this on Brickipedia, but: What if the Venom big-fig in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes The Video Game, was included in the Spider-man Junior set. I know they probably won't seeing its a Junior set. But it'd be pretty cool.

Do we all think there is any possibility of Iron Man 2 sets? I just watched the movie and I'm really wanting a Whiplash fig. Overall, I'm very excited to see the new Marvel sets and some actual pics of the DC sets. I'm really hoping we get a new hero (either Batgirl or a Justice Leaguer) in the Steam Roller set!

Wayne Manor could very much happen, we got lots of Hogwarts that are fairly large for about $100 add another $50 part wise we could get a nice Wayne Manor with a helicopter/batcopter. Also with the 2 batcaves released now (Juniors and System) we could get a nice playset working like Jabba's Palace and The Rancor pit worked...

I could see lego making Wayne manor, although it may not have too many play features, it would probably have 3 walls, open back and maybe include Batman, Bruce Wayne, Alfred, and perhaps a few villains such as Rhas al Gul, some shadow league members or it may have another mob of villains who have the intention of setting Wayne manor on fire like they did in TDK trilogy films. The rooms it would probably have are a dining room, the armoury, the library with hidden elevator shaft, a kitchen, Bruce's bedroom and perhaps a few more rooms such as a gym and entrance hall with grand staircases. And the play features could be a falling column, opening secret passage behind the book case, light up fire etc.

But if we are to get a D2C marvel set this year l reckon it would be stark tower from the avengers film (with the portal machine), but as good as a heli carrier would be it would have to be huge IMO to fit everything what it needs to make it recognisable.

I don't think Sabertooth would need any new moulds, in the video game he just has Wolverine's hair, and no accessories.

I may like the way the mansion looks in the movies, but the characters would probably look better if they appeared the same way they did in the game. The mansion could easily be based off of the movies while still having classic designs. So I would say "call it comic based and make it look exactly like the movie! What I am hoping would happen, would be for them to lump random other characters in, whether they appeared in the film or not. It would be one of those loosely inspired by the film, but featuring other comic characters. It would not be the first time a superheroes set had something like that either, featuring multiple continuities. That opens up a whole realm of possibilities for minifigs. Also if they wait until 2015, like I think they will, they can include all the new designs from the new movie.

A Helicarrier can also work as a generic platform. It could be like a SW capital ship in size, open up with features on the inside and be a nice stand alone model on the outside. Ideally they could also lump more obscure heroes in this set too. These are really the best chances to get Fantastic Four, and others we normally wouldn't have.

The next D2C DC set will probably be a Justice League HQ.

They also have a yellow skinned Batman in the clothing from the Riddler Chase set, which may mean it's a prototype. Very interesting. And, they also have a 2014 Nindroid, which JUST leaked, and adds a bit of validity. This is all too confusing.

I would say IM2 sets are a possibility when they are expanding the line into 20 sets a year like Star Wars, the way they currently are there is barely any room for the current projects already.

A single villain against 7 or so heroes seems rather unfair and uneven.

I hope so. The way it currently sounds those Junior sets are the newest version of Magnet figs, Planets sets and Battlepacks. I expect at least some variation in the Juniors figs since it otherwise just would mean to wait for figs to appear in the Junior line to get them cheaper and without useless/crappy parts packs. Had I known they are doing that Batcave set I wouldn´t have bought Jokers Funhouse.

Juggernaut would need new molds and you can´t have that in a D2C.

I don't think Sabertooth would need any new moulds, in the video game he just has Wolverine's hair, and no accessories.

He has a neck piece for his fur and different claw pieces in his hands but I guess they could do him without.

The Deadpool set had a helicopter that was vaguely influenced from Origins so yeah, some film influence can be there.

Now that´s a relief. Looks like 3 of the 4 new sets have a new hero beside Batman so we get at least some variety. Somewhat weirded out that they use New 52s costume designs. Should have been the classic designs like last and this year.
