Navy Trooper Fenson Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 (edited) I just did the math and that sheet only has 146 characters on it. Does that mean theres still more? I thought it was 155? The full game has 150 slots of which ≈10 are supposed to be for custom characters. Alternate costumes of the same character also appear in the same slot (for example the 8 Iron Man suits and 2 Tonys are only one slot that changes its icon all the time like in the Harry Potter games) so there are probably ≈20 new characters left over. DLC characters like from the Prorder-DLC (Thanos, Beta Ray Bill) and regular DLC (Thor 2 packs 8 movie chars) get their own slots added to the list when you purchase them so they don´t count to the 150 slots of the full game. Let's get back on topic, people. It would be nice if the conversation in here could naturally progress instead of a mod always telling us what we can and can't talk about. I would love to see all of these game designs realized as minifigs but the reality is we probably won't get 90% of them. On the topic of next years sets, I really can't wait to see them. I'm really hoping for a Green Lantern figure in a cheap set so that I can buy a bunch and make my own corps using alien heads from other themes. Quote
Mr Breden Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 I really hope we get some of these figures in the upcomming years, especially Ant Man, Hulk buster, Whiplash, the X-Men and Fantastic Four. Quote

Freddy Bricker Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 (edited) There have been GL rumors going around. But unless it's a store exclusive set, I'm not so sure. The minifig lineup in the sets we know about seems to be filling out. Well I believe I have 2 good reasons as to why Lego would, and wouldn't put GL in a set. In 2012, Lego introduced 4 hero's to the DC side of the theme, Superman, Batman, Robin, and Wonder Woman. However Batman and Robin already appeared in the Batman line, and superman as NYCC exclusive (it may have been SDCC). This means in 2012, WW was our only "new" hero. This year, Superman, Batman, Robin, and Aquaman appeared in sets. Again, this means Aquaman was our only "new" hero. And now here are two reasons why I believe we would/wouldn't get a GL in a set next year: 1. Lego seems to release 4 hero's in a year for the DC side of the line, in 2012 it was Superman, Batman, Robin, and Wonder Woman. In 2013 it was Superman, Batman, Robin, and Aquaman. Next year we have confirmed (leaked) Batman, Nightwing, Batgirl, and the Flash. This means we already have our 4 annual hero's, Lego is more than likely not going to give us 1 new hero for the theme, unless they start changing how it's made. Also, as I've said above we only really get 1 "new" hero in a year. Next year we are getting Batgirl and the Flash. This means we are already getting 2 new figures, it's more than likely we won't get a 3rd. however Batgirl was released and then cancelled as a micro-figure, this could sort-of make Flash the only "new figure" and Lego more than likely wouldn't make a 2nd new figure. 2. A micro-figure is not a minifigure, in this sense Batgirl was never really made, and that would mean Lego is giving us 2 new hero's next year. If Lego would increase the amount of new figures released in a year from 1-2, then what would stop them from releasing 3? It is possible Lego will spoil us next year and give us 5 hero's next year (Batman, Batgirl, Nightwing, the Flash , and Green Lantern) 3 of these have been released before (Batman, Nightwing, and Green Lantern) while 2 would be new (Batgirl and the Flash). So in a sense, Lego would not be increasing the "new" fig number from 1-3, but merely be making 2 new hero's. I kind-of contradicted myself when I said earlier "If Lego would increase the amount of new figures released in a year from 1-2, then what would stop them from releasing 3?" because they would basically be releasing 2 new hero's and since Green Lantern has already been released, he wouldn't be breaking any of Lego's habits. I must concur that my explanation was difficult to understand, but I hope someone understood it, but basically my 2 points are: Lego only releases 4 hero's a year and we already have confirmed images of 4, so a 5th would be a curveball. Lego is already making 2 new hero's for next years wave, so adding a 5th that was already release wouldn't do much to them. All in all, everything we know from Lego goes to support both my statements. No matter what they do though, it will be unexpected (or at least for me) Edited October 18, 2013 by Freddy Bricker Quote

This is just a mess made out of rather contrived coincidences in hopes of creating a pattern. Like reading an article on the Spongebob Wiki. I don´t think LEGO is playing by some kind of weirdly complex system of rules. The one guy who said we would get Avengers and Spidey sets was right and also said we would get GL this year. That´s enough of a confirmation for me. Besides, I don´t think DC is okay with only 5 sets while Marvel has 6 plus an unknown number of X-Men and GOTG stuff AND presumably a D2C set. It looks like they are ditching the equality rule from the last two years but I think it will be more like 40% DC and 60% Marvel, not this extreme. A second DC wave in summer is pretty much confirmed. How big it will be and how it will look is another question but I would expect something that in some way ties in with the LEGO Movie. Not sets based directly on scenes from it but at least a chance to get a GL fig (even if it won´t be the San-Diego 2011 movie fig they use in it). Also, does Superheroes play by other rules in regards to set lifetimes or shouldn´t the first wave of Batman sets be discontinued by now? If they are going to discontinue them a new release for Comic Superman and Wonder Woman should be a necessary. Quote
Only Sinner Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Though that does leave one left over, which is most likely some kind special character in game (Like when you get 100% or something). Maybe a certain popular comic book writer/artist ? There are so many exciting characters here, but far too many to anticipate many of them being in the 2014 sets. I almost think it would be a shame to get cheap chinese versions of them in CMF style. Has anyone said anything about that? Quote

SoupOrFishOil Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Thanks for the news here and elsewhere, Sir von Lego. I really appreciate it. Sounds like both Batgirl and Nightwing come in the Steamroller. Better than two goons, I guess, as long as the Man-Bat set has another figure. Maybe that's where Green Lantern is hiding? darth_tater did mention that there were three figures included, and I hope LEGO doesn't include just two at that point now.... The Spider-Man sets don't interest me much. I might pick up the Electro one, but not too interested in the Green Goblin or Ock ones right now. Maybe when we get pictures. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 So the roller has Bman, Robin, Batgirl vs. jpker and Henchman? Maybe nightwing is in the Man Bat set. but why would Man bat, a guy who can fly need a vehicle. To do so? Spidey sets sound nice, hopefully a team mate is inclided in the Goblin set. female could be MJ or Aunt May Quote

I feel like Nightwing will come in the Man-Bat set, and Robin will stay in the Steamroller set. We haven't had a Robin figure for a while now, as the only 2013 set to have him was the polybag. Then again, we're supposedly getting him in that Juniors set. The Man-Bat set is most likely $20 in the US, so I think he just forgot to list the figure, as $20 sets usually have three figures. I think we'll get the Green Lantern figure in The LEGO Movie CMF series, as we're supposedly getting some licensed figures in there and Green Lantern appears in the film. Quote

I won't believe that we are getting licensed characters in TLM sets/blind-bags until I see it, either, so for now, this is my theory. I wouldn't bet money on it, but I don't think it is any less likely than GL appearing as part of a CMF range for TLM. Quote
