Legoman123 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 I wonder when we will see any more information on the new Avengers sets, I hope we do soon. Anyway I really can't wait to get the set with Electro in, and I actually like the sound of the Doc Ock set. Quote
Pulp Detective Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 (edited) So do we have any news for the upcoming x-men sets(based on the new movie)?? Edited October 19, 2013 by LOTR343 Quote
just2good Posted October 19, 2013 Author Posted October 19, 2013 So do we have any news for the upcoming x-men sets(based on the new movie)?? Not yet. We don't even know if it's based on the new movie. For all we know, it's a comic-based set. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 I'm holding out hope that the sets will be comic based. I'm also holding out hope that we'll even get X-Men sets. On another note, are we getting pictures this month or am I asking for too much? The Hobbit images got out, and we had 3 different minifigs revealed (Joker, Nightwing, and Batgirl) does that mean we are likely to get set images since we've had so many leaks? I ask because I'm pretty sure mid-October is gone, and we're almost in November... it'd be nice to get some pics. Quote
Sam892 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 My thinking is that the X-men sets will be comic based. Also I'm guessing we will get a Wolverine with mask. Mainly because from the Marvel LEGO comic variants and the alternate game costume, he has the same mask by the looks of things. I'm also going to guess that storm will be included as she is the one in the game who doesn't have her 90's outfit on. Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 I'll forego the argument altogether regarding whether or not TLG has the right to produce sets licensed from the Sony Marvel brands. But In terms of costume design alone, I just don't think an X-Men DOFP movie set would be very marketable. It'll be dark, bland, almost apocalyptic... A comic-based set, on the other hand, would just pop off the box and certainly be more appealing to kids & AFOLs alike. Comic set's a no-brainer... Just give us about 5-6 X-Men and a brick-built Sentinel and we've got a classis set on our hands. Quote

The reason people think it might be based on the new film is because LEGO just got the license for another Fox brand, The Simpsons. I have to agree. I'd rather see some comic-based sets. All they need to do is like one or two comic based sets and I'm happy, as long as they have new characters. Maybe a $30 set (to introduce new moulds) and then a D2C X-Mansion (using those moulds and some existing ones to have more characters). Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 We all seem so sure we're getting X-Men sets, are Guardians of the Galaxy still in the picture? Quote
just2good Posted October 19, 2013 Author Posted October 19, 2013 We all seem so sure we're getting X-Men sets, are Guardians of the Galaxy still in the picture? Yeah, considering we're basing the fact that we're getting X-Man sets based on the same source that said we're getting GotG sets. Supposedly the X-Man sets will come before the GotG sets, though. Why dont we have set names for the two.Avengers sets, i get that one migjt be based on CA: TWS, but the other? And we wont get information. On the summer sets til NYTF. Quote
lemaskdemasque Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Found first pics of the Penguin Face-off (76010) on 'The brick fan'. Loving the rubby ducky! http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-dc-universe-super-heroes-penguin-face-76010-first-image/ Quote
Pulp Detective Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Um.....you're kinda late since this pics is out for at least a week. Quote
Legoman123 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 I really hope the X-Men sets are based off of the comics, I would really hate if they decided to use the movie designs. I think however that they will use comic designs because that's how they are in the LEGO Marvel game, so I don't know why Lego would change there designs for the sets. Just what I think though. Quote

lemaskdemasque Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 I apologise if this has been mentioned already but I think this is the clown (well, the torso anyway) from Joker's steam roller. http://www.brickheroes.com/2013/10/lego-marvel-super-heroes-demo-pc-en-ligne/ Quote

Dr Leg O Brick Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Wasn't the Deadpool set similar? In the fact that it was a comic based set but was similar to a Scene in XMOW? And why so serious about Electro? Ultimates was great for revamping everything and the stories where good, but they've got nothing on the 616 costumes. I guess its the era of comics I grew up in, but I love old starfish head any day over the pitiful electrical current with demon eyes. Quote
Pulp Detective Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Well I hope we get atleast one Captain America:The Winter Soldier set or a Thor:The Dark World set. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 It is a little late in the game for Dark World sets isn't it? Unless they have been well under wraps then they will be out way after the film, it is out in a few days over here! Though sets based on the film would be awesome, plenty of cool weapons and figure designs. Quote
Mesonak Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 (edited) Lego released their TDKR set many, many months after the movie premiered. It's not unheard of. I guess it's just a waiting game to see if one is produced or not, but I'd say its' decently likely. Edited October 19, 2013 by Mesonak Quote
The_Creator Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 It would be nice to get one or two sets for T:TOW, and as Mesonak said: The TDKR set was released months after the movie. A CA:WS set would be nice, I'd like to get a Bucky… Quote
Legoman123 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Well I think its safe to assume that we are getting a CA:WS set, but as for T:TDW I don't think it is very likely because if it was, I'm sure we would of heard something about it by now. Quote
parkman2000 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 they should make some batman sets based off of more mature batman novels such us the dark knight returns and batman year one. If they do that they will have all of my money Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 IMO, not getting any sets for Thor: The Dark World is probably the single biggest disappointment so far from the Superheroes line. Quote
SMC Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Im just hoping for a new spiderman, we have so many batmans and it looks like spiderman is getting some love with the number of sets just hope he is new, even if its not great it would be better than the same fig again. Quote
