wesker Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 The Dark World sets seem pretty unlikely if Thor is being included in the Hulk/MODOK set. Quote
The_Creator Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Well I think its safe to assume that we are getting a CA:WS set, but as for T:TDW I don't think it is very likely because if it was, I'm sure we would of heard something about it by now. Not questioning what you're saying, but where do you get the impression it's safe to assume we're getting CA:WA sets? I'm thinking you're right about T:TDW, as with the hype surrounding Marvel films, why release sets for it months later? Seems silly. Quote
Moon_Knight Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 This has probably been the most depressing forum topic for a little while now. We haven't gotten any images of the new sets and the new sets are based off of the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon. Why does Spidey even need a chopper? He's got webs to get around. Plus, we already have a Doc Oc. C'mon LEGO, you've probably got the license to make some ASM2 sets. Why not make them? Give us some CA: TWS and T: TDW sets too! Quote
Marvelfan120 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 I'm happy with USM sets but it's the minifigs I'm worried about. I like getting Electro and Green Goblin as Villains but Doc Oc Again meh... and we need Power Man and White Tiger... I expect well only get one of those this year though since I expect Lego doesn't want to run out of team members to make before 2015. I'd like to see some sets based on other stuff. Hopfully Lego will start producing stuff for older movies when (If-gasp) they renew in 2015 and realize what a gold mine they have here, after all lego makes sets based on older movies in the star wars theme... Hope it's not wishful thinking on my part. Quote

Well Marvel has the rights to all the Films merchandise, and LEGO has the licence to everything Marvel owns. Whether or not this means will will get ASM2 sets however is a different story. Quote

And and article posted by you! For some reason I was under the impression that Mega Brand still held the merch rights for the Sony stuff. Thanks for helping me get cleared up there! Quote

I think Ock will be based on his season two outfit, but then the only change would be his goggles and a scar on his mouth, apart from that his look is pretty much the same. I think we'll. Get Power Man this year due to the vidoe game having his USM outfit minus the hair(cuz Cage is normally bald). I am secretly hoping the fig in the Ock set is Coulson, but its probably the Arkham/ GC Bank guard. Quote

When we found out about the other Marvel sets coming out, someone said it looked like there was a set with Captain America, The Winter Soldier and another minifigure in it. So I just assumed that was the CA:WS set. Quote
legofreak86 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 To be quite honest if those set descriptions we have been given yesterday are accurate then that's quite disappointing. The spider man sets sound generic, dull and unnecessary. The only thing I can see in those sets that I would possibly want is The Goblin figure and maybe Gwen Stacy. Electro has never really interested me that much and reusing the same doc ock from the first wave of ultimate Spiderman sets is just plain lazy. The spider copter sounds ridiculous as a helicopter would not look remotely attractive in those colours and Spidey really doesn't need one! He is not Batman! The tricycle sounds ludicrous as I doubt even a child would pay £13 plus for Spiderman, electro and a tricycle. £50 for the spider copter set is utterly bonkers, considering it includes only the copter which if like the one in the game isn't that large and three figures. The only way this wave could improve is if in the final versions of the sets: Goblin has a glider, Coulson is driving the van, Doc Ock is the game design and the £50 set includes more figures than just 3. On a lighter note I do like the sounds of the DC ones: We have already seen the penguin one which looks brilliant! the perfect £13 set and scuba batman is a nice thing to include. The man bat set I reckon will include Batman maybe another hero and man bat in the final set which sound good. the steam roller we have been told includes: Batman, batgirl, robin (I assume mixed up with the red Nightwing), joker and a henchman which is quite good for minifigure selection. I already liked the riddler set as soon as I saw it so that's good. So a mixed bag for early superheroes ranges this year. let us hope the "avengers sets", xmen sets and guardians of the galaxy sets fare better. Quote

Even though he can web swing. It like giving Supes a jet or Flash a motorcycle (those two actually. Happened). The Electro set sounds similar to the golf.cart of doom set. Spidey in the trike amd Electro with some lightnimg.pieces.at least we are getting a Spidey villian and anouther USM SS member., three down three to go. Ock set sounds okay. if it includes the Iron Spider armor i will be happy. Ock will probably. Have a new face due to him most likely. Being based on season 2 appearance. I think it just might be a bank ttuck with a generic. Driver. The Copter ive already adressed, so yeah i think it will be like the Helicarrier set and includes four figs. Spidey, a teammate (most likley Power Man), Mary Jane( she barley even in the show) and bigfig Goblin on hjs Glider(like Lego wouldnt give him his vehicle, im more worried about the Pumpkin Bombs and if legos gonna give him them) Quote
Dr Leg O Brick Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 (edited) I'd be more happy if they did Spidey with boot printing, as he already has a belt printed, and maybe a battle damaged Spidey with a ripped mask and costume. Disappointed about no Powerman yet, and I hate stupid childish made up vehicles. Where the hell is he going to park the thing? Aunt May's back yard? I know he is a member of SHEILD and all in the cartoon, but I much prefer a few cars or part of a building, or a full one, instead of a multi colored VTOL. It's like the Spider cars and Iron Man jets and the Superman rocket launchers that Hasbo regurgitate every once and a while, it stupid, and I excepted more from Lego. And why make it red and blue? Why not grey and black like a SHEILD vehicle? The only good thing I could use it for is my Hellfire club Guards. And I know its all ifs and buts, and I know Lego is for Kids, but still, I can't help feeling somewhat disappointed, even though all we have is a game shot and a description of a prototype.... dviddy Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 You all know that TLG doesn't make the decisions regarding who is in which set or what kind if setting or vehicle it is, right? The property owner, either Disney or WB, says "give us a set with Deadpool, Wolverine, Magneto and a helicopter" and TLG responds with prototypes of those ideas until the property owner is happy. So if you want more buildings and less vehicles, you'll have to show Disney or WB market research that pushes them that way. Quote
North Lego Star Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 So at this point is it possible that we'll recieve 7 marvel sets next year, due to the fact that we only got 5 sets this year perhaps as a result of Marvel(Disney) wanting them to release a larger number of sets in 2014. Quote

It is more likely to balance the sets between DC and Marvel out. That would bring the total number of Marvel sets to 18, and DC 16 (2012-2014). I can see 2 more DC sets later in 2014. Quote
wesker Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Any ideas on which one of Spider-Man's love interests will be in the Green Goblin set? Quote
Sam892 Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Any ideas on which one of Spider-Man's love interests will be in the Green Goblin set? I doubt that it will be either Black Cat or Gwen as neither have been mentioned or appeared in USM. MJ however has appeared a good number of times although not in that outfit. Also from the sounds of things the Goblin will be USM based and Spideys helicopter looks like the S.H.I.E.L.D ones from the show. So with all that I'm guessing MJ is the figure were getting. It would be a real shocker if it was Aunt a May though HaHa. Quote
montgocloud Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Hm. I'm torn right now. On the one hand, this is extremely disappointing given Marvel's large universe of heroes and LEGO seems to only focus on a few. But, on the other hand, this wave bodes extremely well for villains, something lacking in the LEGO Marvel sets thus far. All we can do is wait and hope for the best. Quote
RelicRaider Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Ah well, the DC sets sound exciting anyway, and I'm most interested in those. Quote
strangely Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Mary Jane is pretty likely, but I would rather get Gwen Stacy. In a perfect would I would also want comic Green Goblin so that I could do a moc of #121, but apparently this is not a perfect world. Also I'm tired of getting so many red-headed female characters in these sets. We've have five women with varying shades of red appear in the sets, plus Pheonix. Although I suppose Lego could fool us all and put Betty Brant in the set. Quote
