phanstasm Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Thanks, CM4S, for the larger image. And thanks, Cammo, for the Thurs and Fri schedules. Only showing one DC set? That’s very odd since they try to balance Marvel/DC everything. You’d think if they were only showing one DC they’d at least also show one Marvel. Unless... maybe the winter 2014 wave will only be DC, and the summer 2014 wave will only be Marvel, like they did in 2012. Quote

But with the DC set being the one they already revealed, since they still haven't made an official announcement. I'm still hoping for the figures to be revealed, but it seems a little unlikely now. One of those days could say unveiling of Marvel set. Quote
8BrickMario Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 (edited) Darn. Riddler needs a question-mark suit, not a racing jacket! Will we need a fourth one in in couple of years to get a proper suited Riddler? I just don't understand LEGO's reasoning when it comes to the minifigs of the Riddler. "A red crowbar is totally his ? cane!" Edited July 18, 2013 by 8BrickMario Quote
strangely Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Honestly more than anything else I'm just confused. I can understand giving a character a gimmicky vehicle for the sake of giving them a vehicle, but the jacket just doesn't make sense. Usually these minifigures are based on something (movie/TV/comics) but this variation seems to be something they just made up. I mean it's possible this version of the Riddler is set to appear in something down the line (A DTV movie maybe, an appearance in a show or something), but for right now this variation just doesn't make sense. It just seems too specific to just be random, there had to be some reason Lego decided to do this. And if this design is in reference to something than I'll be understanding about it. If however it's just something they came up with I'm a bit disappointed as there are real variations of that character I would prefer. At least we get the green hat I suppose... I am excited about this Batman variation, it looks good. Quote

Thursday is a Star Wars set, Friday is dc, Saturday is a hobbit set, and Sunday is a lego movie set. Quote
CF Mitch Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Thanks for the better quality picture, CM4S! I love that Flash minifigure. I'll definitely get the set, if only for him. The Batmobile looks nice too, but I've got so much of it already, though obviously not this variant. Regards, Mitch Quote
TheLegoDr Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 If I'm not mistaken, the Riddler's head looks different too. Granted once I put together Funhouse that first Christmas it came out, I haven't looked at it since, so I might be wrong. I do like the batmobile, although I want to add fenders to make it bulkier/more intimidating I guess...I don't know why. The Flash wins hands down. Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 (edited) If I'm not mistaken, the Riddler's head looks different too It looks like he has a different grin and a more angular mask. Also, in the image it looks like there is something golden behind the engine. Any ideas what that is? Edited July 18, 2013 by Superficial Username Quote
strangely Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 The gold piece is interesting. Perhaps he's holding a gold cane. Maybe that's a little wishful, but it's position makes it seem like it's something he's holding as there wouldn't be a whole lot of places to attach a piece on the engine block. Quote
North Lego Star Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 (edited) Also, in the image it looks like there is something golden behind the engine. Any ideas what that is? There's money stored in back of the Riddler's Car, but that's all I can make out. This is a nice set, but I think could have been better. The Riddler has been done before and to be honest I don't like his new design very much. I would have perfered getting a new villain such as Black Mask, Mad Hatter, Hush and so on. As for Batman and the Flash, there nice and something new, but the vehicals in the set are anything special. I don't think I'll be picking this set up whne it comes out, I'm still hopefully though that we got some more TDKR sets. EDIT: Oh, I didn't notice that golden curve before. I think it's probaly the Riddler's Question mark cane, which is a cool addition to this set. Edited July 18, 2013 by North Lego Star Quote
Catanas Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 On closer inspection, the set is even stranger to me, as the Flash seems to be in his New 52 outfit ... The belt is New 52, as is the Chin strap, and weirdly, the circle of his logo is above the lightning bolt. I wonder if this New 52 thing is a new trend, with this and Green Arrow. Quote
SMC Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 (edited) halomaster96 thanks for the info of each day, looking forward to seeing dc set, lego movie set and hobbit set which is the only one we don't know what it is still. Edited July 18, 2013 by SMC Quote

strangely Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 I wouldn't mind Lego using some of the new 52 looks for the new minifigures. I would really like a new 52 version of Wonder Woman (I don't like the exact colors they used on the minifigure). Harley Quinn as well just because I like her new 52 look. Quote
Catanas Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Aquaman is also new 52. So he is! Guess we'll probably see a New 52 Supes soon enough then. Quote
legofreak86 Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 (edited) I zoomed in the picture and if you look really carefully it looks like the gold bit curves downwards and looks 3D. Due to the fact that it is curved then I would reckon that may well be a bit of the question mark of his cane! Well I'll guess we'll see properly tomorrow. It really is looking likely. Fantastic! If it is that would make up for the racing jacket. Plus the gold matches the bat mobile wheels and has a part in shadow and a part where light it reflecting off it making it look lighter same as the bat mobile wheels. Kez Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 halomaster96 thanks for the info of each day, looking forward to seeing dc set, lego movie set and hobbit set which is the only one we don't know what it is still. Thanks too halo master, I certainly look forward to the hobbit set, correct me if Im wrong but this is one of the lego movie sets (unless off course you meant the hobbit set, which I certainly can't wait to hear more on ) Quote
8BrickMario Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 (edited) Okay, if that gold whatever-it-is is in fact Riddler's cane, I'm sold on this set. Flash, too, but the cane is a priority for me. Waiting (im)patiently for more pics... Edited July 18, 2013 by 8BrickMario Quote
deskp Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 If that is his cane, they would do better putting it in his visible hand.. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Maybe the Marvel Sets are based on Thor: TDW and that's why a set isn't being shown, but maybe the wave contains Ultimate Spidey or X-Men sets(s) and they couldn't shown those because why? Hopefully they will at least show some Marvel figure, maybe a set that isn't on the timeline. And i hope that is Riddler's gold cane!!! And it better be a new mold, not a gold crowbar. If that is his cane, they would do better putting it in his visible hand.. But his exposed hand has a banana to slip flash or bats, and that's more important!! Quote
