zipper778 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 YES!!! Finally some pics! The junior Batman set actually looks interesting, but the Manbat set is sort of a let down. The Joker steam roller looks better then I thought it would (the giant smile is great), and it's good to see a larger pic of the Penguin. Now all I want to see are some pics of the new TMNT sets. Quote
Churchill Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I like the juniors. I'll probably get those for the Robin. We don't need another plane for Batman- and I don't really appreciate the Joker steamroller. But I'd welcome a Batcopter. I really hope they aren't using the CMF batwings- It will really limit the minifig. Thanks for the images! Quote
jonwil Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I hope the Jr sets dont introduce too many one-piece specialized parts (the one-piece car body part that first appeared in this years bricks & more type sets is bad enough) That said, I bet (and hope) a few people will buy the Jr Batman set for the figs and flog the rest on Bricklink on the cheap so I can pick up some of the bits :) Whats Hulk doing in that Spider-Man set? Hulk is just a digital stand-in for the big fig Green Goblin that's going in that set. Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Ah, those junior sets are cool.....and cheap way of score Batman and The Joker ! Those boxart images I feel might have been the one's first shown to DC and Marvel to get the thumbs up for production perhaps. Gee, it's been a few days of 2014 surprises eh ? Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 (edited) I'm still disappointed that all of the Marvel sets are based on the USM series, but the Batman sets look pretty good! Edited October 28, 2013 by The_Chosen_1 Quote
DJ Bricks Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Well the sets look good. For DC Juniors, bright blue bats plus tradional Robin yes! Nightwing plus i was right about Man-Bat Joker Set, it look like we just might get an upgrade on the Arkham Robin, with a partly yellow cape. and purple for Batgirl. Electro looks good. Ock set. I've got a feeling it's gonna be a season two ock with aSM2 ock as a prototype. i think the other guy is just a driver for the truck. Goblin, of course he gets his glider, Mary Jane plus Power Man ( of course we get the girl teammate last) Quote
TheSpritePlate Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 See Spiderman in the Doc Ock set? He has a RED body, instead of normal blue, and navy blue arms and legs... Will we be getting a different Spidey figure? I'm going to be broke next year... Quote

DJ Bricks Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Noticed that a page back ;) Could be just a prototype mistake Quote
TheLegoDr Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 (edited) Personally all of the sets look fantastic and preliminary sets are notorious for looking terrible compared to the officials. I will welcome all of those sets into my house, except for junior Spider-Man. Another big fig will be a nice addition. I wanted to find the red robin cycle poly, but with all of these extras in these sets, I won't worry about it now. Edited October 28, 2013 by TheLegoDr Quote
Piranha Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 I hope that alternate Spider-man is supposed to be a stand in for an ASM 2 fig. Also I wonder why they would use a Dock Ock like that for USM, unless they are giving us the game design? Quote
wesker Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 For preliminary designs I'm quite impressed with next year's vehicle line up. Classic Robin is a nice surprise. I wasn't expecting to see him. Hopefully the second Robin minifigure is Damian Wayne and Doc Ock is based on the classic comic design. Quote
RaincloudDustbin Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 These are just like 'rough visualisations' of the descriptions we already got- sorta like the pictures in my head. I'll wait for Grogall till I make any impressions. Quote
Robianco Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 So we get 4 x Batman, 2 x Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, 2 x Joker, Riddler, Penguin, Henchman, Manbat, 'Driver', and of course, Flash... not a bad haul for the DC sets (including Juniors) That prototype actually looks a little more like Scarlet Spider... although that's looking a little too much into it seeing as it's just a CGI placer. Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Okay, so my predictions were wrong. I hope that GL is in the TLM stuff now. I'm not too interested in the Marvel stuff. I'll try and keep an open mind until we get better images, but the content is sort of bland, like in the descriptions. If the Electro set has all of those lightning pieces when it is finalized, I might get it, but I don't need three more Spider-Men, a trike/cycle for him, or a generic truck, even if none of them look that bad. I do like the DC sets for the most part. The Penguin one doesn't seem like it changed much, but looks as good as it can with these images. Same with the Man-Bat one, though I'm not sure about Nightwing's glider. The bat-copter already looks great, so I'm really looking forward to seeing hi-res pictures of that, though Nightwing idoesn't have his escrima sticks. The steamroller set I'll try and wait to judge. The plane seems really odd, and though I really like the lips on the steamroller, that's about it. I'm also a little disappointed that we're getting another Robin. At least he has a new cape, and I hope that he gets a new face, especially if it is Damian. Even if it is Damian, I would have rather had a new villain. Oh, and Batman seems to have a black torso and legs in the copter and steamroller, but gray in the Riddler set. The logo makes me think they'll reuse the black one from last year though. I don't care for the Juniors sets, but might get the Batcave for classic Batman and Robin. Quote
The Joker1 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Very nice indeed, So this wave we have been given (DC wise) 3 new heroes, one new villain and one new henchman. Plus a number of new prints/designs. It is also nice to see a mix of land, Sea and air vehicles. It is good to see there will be a new classic style batman and robin. And the sets are pretty good as superhero sets go. I will be back with a look at marvel later... -Also it's good to see batgirl will indeed be getting a purple cape. Quote
Brickadiergerard Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 For rough and readys, these are looking like some pretty good sets aren't they? Remember how very rough the LOTR ones were that leaked before wave 1 was seen? And compare the rough images of the figures with the photos of the real things that have surfaced recently. If these ones are just as rough an impression of the final thing, I think we're in line for some great-looking sets come 2014. The figure range looks pretty good: Manbat should have the CMF wings IMO because he's usually portrayed as having arms turned to wings rather than getting a pair sprouting out of his back, and although you can make a near perfect version using the MF brown manbat and the CMF werewolf legs, it's nice to get an official one. Batgirl, new Nightwing and Joker in his hat are great additions. I'm just hoping we'll eventually get the updated Alfred so many of us hope for, and Clayface. As for the vehicles, the standout ones for me are the Batcopter, Penguin duckboat and the Joker steamroller. They're full of character. And they haven't been done to death already. I don't care for the Riddler's Mario cart, I don't need another Batmobile (especially not one with an orange windscreen) although with some colour changes it would make for a great car for Nightwing, and I don't want another Batwing even though it has that same slightly steampunky/art deco cool that the Naboo starfighter has with the front-loaded wing line. I am lucky enough to have the Batmobile and Batwing from the original Batman line. They're still my favourites, and my kids like them more than the more recent sets. If I hadn't got them, the versions from Superheros wave 1 would have been great alternatives, and we'd be very happy to have them. I don't see why there needs to be 2 more variants in this wave when there are so many other great vehicles to base sets around (if they have to be based around them rather than a building). For my part, I would love Lex's flying heli-circle-VTOL-contraption from the DC Superheroes game. Quote
Big T Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Well this is really encouraging for everything but my bank account. The Joker Steamroller set looks like it'll be better than I expected, especially if that Robin turns out to be Damien (even if he doesn't, yellow cape for the win) and purple cape for Batgirl could make that the figure of the series. The Batwing might need some modding (will need to see final pics for it) but it's a cool different design for it compared to the typical 'make a bat shape'. Batcopter's a bit bland but I reckon final pictures will do it more justice Quote

SMC Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 ^ thanks that better to see on my phone, can anyone remind me of the costs of these sets as its harder to go back pages on my phone. Thanks all Quote
kermit Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Who is the guy in the purple cape in the joker set? I am going to assume that it is batgirl since I dont see her in any of those pics. I also see we get two variations of robin , night wing and one with a hood. Is the hulk in the spiderman cartoon? It seems strange to include him in that spidey set. Quote
Drock Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Kermit, yes. That's batgirl. ;) Also the "Hulk" is a stand-in for Green Goblin Quote
