I would have liked some Thor 2 Dark Elves, Malakith and a Winter Soldier. I also would have liked to see some Green Arrow sets, not based off the show Arrow, but based off the character and other characters like, Death Stroke(aka Slade Willson),Agent Coleson,Nick Fury( in the black jacket),Ras al Ghul, the Mad Hatter, usm White Tiger, the Lizard and some kind of villain bases, like a Hydra Moutain base or the Lizard's secret lair and maybe D2C usm Aunt Maye's House, also could you tell us a bit more about how the lab looks and if the guy in the hood is looking toward the Villains or the Good guys on the corner off the box ?

Yes so much missed potential by going with a run of the mill (most likely to be short lived) television series rather than big character filled and potential blockbuster movies. Still at least we get some new villains and red skull is cool to get.

I've been hoping the Cap and Hulk set would be the redeeming factor, and it appears so. Falcon? New Thor? Possible New Hulk? Taskmaster? Red Skull? Hydra cannon fodder? Possible new Cap? Fantastic! It would of been better if there where more unique characters, and maybe one Hydra goon, but I'll take what we get. As for the Tank, sounds good, and the lab, well, parts fodder perhaps. I've been hoping for a better Super Villian Hideout since the Doc Ock one, I'll probably give it some more green and give it to Dr Doom. I've lost the link as the auction has ended, but one of the Mexico informants, 2011lilibetho10, had a Spider-man and a Venom. Venom was identical to this years, however Spideys costume was a much darker blue, i.e regular blue, not the light blue that Spidey's had for the last two years. Disappointed with no TTDW or CATWS stuff, but still for me at least I'd like Taskmaster or Falcon or Red Skull over a Winter Soldier, whom, as mentioned previously, is easily made purist style. As for the Spidey sets, well, apart from the Doc set, I think this quote from a Spider-man comic, made by Spidey himself, sums up my feelings: "This is bad. I mean, this is the kind of bad that's so bad you almost don't feel it. This is Trickle-Down Economics bad. This is sand-in-the-swimsuit bad. This is Detroit Tigers bad. Hell. This is Phantom Menace Bad."

As has already been said, I think the movie tie-ins for Iron Man 3 were not received well and this might have warned Lego off of releasing movie sets.

Bear in mind, Disney constantly promote their own cartoons, so that is pretty much free promo for the attached Lego sets. I think Avengers Assemble is god-awful, but it's also an episodic cartoon staring mostly popular characters, and this means Lego can make sets based off of it and have the free promotion to boot. This way, with no spoilers for various films, we don't end up with another flamethrower-golf-cart fiasco.

The new waves of DC sets, predominantly based from the imagination of designers, are where Marvel sets might get to at some point. But for now I think TLG designers will stick to the modern source material, and that means cartoons.

Awesome to hear of a darker blue Spidey! Did he have leg printing do you remember or a different head print?

I don't think that's the reason, as we're getting GotG sets. Then again, they really heavily promoting that film, so who knows.

Plus this time Disney haven't majorly changed anything about the film in the final stages after Lego has made sets like reducing the importance of a pivotal character in iron man 3. People have seen thor 2 and there is apparently nothing like that in the film. So Disney should've told Lego to make a range of sets based on cap 2 and thor 2 but instead for some completely foolish reason decided to promote one of the worst made animated shows on television plus they used the voice actors from that show In the Lego videogame which is  as hardly of that cast understand what the characters are supposed to sound like especially not the iron man/tony stark voice actor. Wish they'd kept the EMH guy on as him but that's off topic. Back on topic its a shame to get no movie tie in sets for two of marvel's largest movies of the year but at least we have some new villains and possibly new design main characters which should be good plus two new heroes.

Hang on, I found the link in my favourites, I have bad eye sight and it seemed he was a darker blue, particurlay as the same seller has other 2014 stuff, sorry if I messed up, but still thought it was worth reporting : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-spiderman-and-venom-lot-figures-beautifull-/400580083598?pt=Building_Toys_US&hash=item5d446eff8e&nma=true&si=VDZWKVfnoo9EInKcKRr4E37EB%252FY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Yeah you got my hopes up but looks the same a bit darker but could just be the light. I will end up have 3 of those at least. I think we could have seen more different prints it would not really add to the cost and it makes the sets less needed as each time spidy is not a fig you need unlike batman where we have seen a lot of different ones.

Few thought about the sets:

Junior line is crap, especially the Batcave. But it may be a cheap way to get the figs. I'll keep my decision until I see the price tag. That... Spider-car is ridiculous, but judging on its piece count the pruchase is no brainier; if the price is $10, it's fine (although $7 would be better) and it shouldn't be too expensive here.

From DC stuff, I'll probably pass the first three sets, they are not worth buying for figures alone (Penguin, Man-Bat, Nightwing, Flash), but I'll see. Will consider the Steam Roller, this one is worth it, it looks. Some unique figs and nice funny steam roller.

From Marvel sets, I will consider buying the first two. Doc Ock truck would be pass for me, but if they really put SDCC Spidey ("The Superior Spider-man", that's how they call him in the game) in it, I must get it. The helicopter in the biggest set is ugly, but the selection of figs is nice.

So, looks promising. I can't wait to see proper images. However, I wish I could say the same about sets CM4S gave us description of. :sceptic: I still haven't forgiven TLC not making any sets based on Thor 2 and they are gonna do the same with CA:TWS? I mean, there are two great movies every year and they waste the space with some ugly cartoons? Yes, I would like to see M.O.D.O.K., Red Skull and Hulk again, but I want - and it makes much more sense to make them, too - figs from MCU movies. After seeing the care IM3 got I was looking forward to improved Loki, Odin, Jane Foster and many more. Nothing. Then new variations of Cap, improved Black Widow and Falcon and... nothing? C'mon LEGO, you can't be serious. :sadnew:

Thanks Spider-Man (Never thought I'd say that), must be going blind and senile in my old age, as already said however, I just wanted to make sure, and not let something through the net so to speak. I too hope for one with less large eyes, and boot printing, but with all these Spider-men I might as well paint them on one.

I always wonder how people get the Retailers Catalog... Anyways I'm actually very excited for the Marvel sets. Also the DC sets. Honestly I hope you all know that the photos we saw are preliminary and some of the builds are very sloppy. The catalog may have better versions of the sets we saw. And I'm confident LEGO will edit what they need to before they release. (Maybe they will spell "Arctic" correct this time... :sweet: ) So, any ideas about the TRU exclusive set or a possible D2C set? I honestly think LEGO will give TLM the Superheroes' D2C set this year. Other than the D2C I'm hoping the TRU exclusive will be Arkham Origins based. (Oh and I think Beware the Batman got cancelled so they may update the printing on Riddler and Batman. )

We will probably never get a minifig that looks like the ASM SDCC one, as exclusive SDCC merchandise is usually under contract not to be produced and released outside of SDCC.

LEGO just can't win. They make sets based on films (Man of Steel and Iron Man 3) and everyone complains that they should make sets based on more classic looks of the characters. So now it sounds like, at least on the Marvel side, they are making a couple of sets that will feature more classic characters (since the cartoons are a lot closer to the comics than are films), and everyone complains that they aren't making any film sets. Such is life.

Complaints about the abundance of Batman sets seem a bit more reasonable, since it would be nice to see DC sets that aren't Batman. But the Marvel sets - I just don't get it. Most of us haven't even SEEN the two non-Spidey sets. If the sets are lousy, fine, complain, but they also could be fairly awesome. I look forward to them.

They have to have a middle ground like Star Wars, there we get sets from all six movies, the cartoon and even some EU stuff from videogames evenly spread out. Marvel should make one or two sets for each film with the most important characters and the rest of the wave comic based. What they are doing now is too much into either extreme and it doesn´t help that Iron Man 3, the probably least fitting movie for a toyline, got 3 sets while Thor 2 with the battlefield action and Winter Soldier with the car chases are getting none.

I am satisfied with the Marvel sets so far... Everyone wanting ASM2 sets must understand that Marvel does not own the rights to it. As for CA2, yeah it would have been nice but we're getting Power Man, Red Skull, MODOK, Electro and more... the only thing we're not getting that I can't do without is White Tiger and I bet she comes next year.

As for DC I'm happy we're getting the flash and the other batman sets look great, especially the Juniors one, love the retro 60s feel... I wont be buying them but for all you DC fans... Enjoy!

Also I would love to see Arrow in a set, TV or comic version *crosses fingers*

Do we have any idea of the prices of the 2 Avengers sets, so far this is what I think and just to say my not a super superheroes fan so maybe an outside view point. I like the sets for the figs mainly partly cos Lego does not put good build in these sets so I look at how many of the figs I want and how much I want them so mostly go for smaller sets.

76010 Penguin set - I like this a lot, a low cost and I dont have the penguin yet but everything in this sets looks good and a batman thats not just in a different colour or print but a different suit for a reason, I really like it and makes me want more. Space batman next maybe! 2 Figs I really want BUY

76011 Man-Bat – It will depend on if it is a new suit for batman or not, I like the idea of man bat and I did really like the look of nightwing with his red batons, 3 figs I would like to have so a buy (but I almost always buy the £20 sets). The helicopter looks ok too, BUY

76012 Riddler, Flash – I really wanted to like this set because it has the Flash in but I don’t like the price, the orange windshield, the batman and Riddler versions do nothing for me and even thou I need a Riddler I still only want the Flash from this set. Sadly a miss for me although reall want a Flash. MISS

76013 Jokers Steam-Roller – another miss but I am happy about this one as I don’t get the bigger sets unless they are really really great. Its just too much for more vehicles that are not iconic at all, Joker Robin and batman all come in other sets although maybe not the same that’s ok and the only fig I want is Batgirl. MISS

76014 Elektro: As it’s a small set I want to like it but the Trike is only ok and as we have got the same spiderman in set after set I have no need for him so there is only Elektro to have so unless he is really good then another MISS

76015 Doc Ock: I don’t have Doc Ock and want him so another set I want to like but the driver as the 3rd fig is a waste but what looks like a new spiderman will save the set and make 2 figs I really want so it’s a BUY (the bank van looks ok and I could use it)

76016 Spider-Heli: This is all about the big fig, I didn’t want to see the green goblin as a big fig but as we are getting him this way Im not sure, I will have to wait and see how he looks. The Helicopter looks ok but does spiderman really need it, I do like the turbines. MJ is another + point. MAYBE

well in the video game he has to go out to back up some other heroes on a ship at sea... Nothing to swing from... Really when you think about it outside big cities his webs are less an advantage for getting around and more a weapon.

^ yeah thats true.

I also like the Junior set as batman and robin look good and I dont have a joker so might as well pict that one up

Actually Disney bought the merchandising rights from Sony, so there could be Lego sets if Disney wanted. And they could always surprise us I suppose and put one out unexpectedly in the summer.

I was under the impression that MEGA Brands owns the Amazing Spider-Man movie license for building sets, thus rendering it impossible for LEGO to make sets based off the Amazing Spider-Man movie franchise?

Do you guys think the helicopter in the usm set should have been a SHIELD helicopter and does any know what in the world Batmans flying in the steamroller set ?
