KingPixels Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Such a shame - the Lego movie gives us this great batplane and batmobile and NEITHER is a set?! How did that occur... Maybe they'll be in the LEGO Movie sets. ^ I hope so and I also hope thor will get a helmet. I've seen Thor 2 and he doesn't wear the helmet at all in the movie. So I doubt they'd do that even if he wears it in the show. Quote

Dr Leg O Brick Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Darth Vader, not to get involved or whatnot, but the reason why I don't like vehicles is because, on average, they end up stupid. Does Spider-Man need a bike? No. Does he need a Helicopter? No. I'd prefer buildings, and fully understand your point, but IMHO, I've got nothing against Lego when they do vehicles like a Hydra tank or a SHEILD jeep or a speedboat, but its when TLG give me something that I 100% don't need or don't have a use for when I don't like vehicles. I know these are prototypes, and its not the sets that's not good, its the idea. What makes me mad is that there are plenty of other options Lego could do, I know its not in there hands, but having read comics all my life I can't help but feel it just screams "missed opportunity" when I see a red and blue bike for Spider-Man. RelicRaider Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Wow, that Penguin set is even better now. batman has a little respirator beneath his cowl. :) The little duck vehicle looks excellent too. Definately still gonna get this one when it comes out. Quote
North Lego Star Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 (edited) Thanks for the pictures SlimShady! The Penguin Face Off set looks really good, nice new Batman and Penguin as well as vehicles, but I'll probably pass on it. The Man Bat Attack Set looks alright, Batman's helicopter is pretty good, little blocky but, it's okay. I feel like they should have just given Nightwing a motorcycle instead of the jumbo jet pack and his electric staffs, I also don't like how they just used the Batman Movie Batman in this set, I would have rather gotten the BTB Batman or completely new one, but I guess it doesn't matter since I'm not buying it anyway. Anyone else notice though, how the sets name's start off with Batman:, I hope this means that there'll be some other superhero sets this year. Edited November 2, 2013 by North Lego Star Quote
TheBatstan Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 (edited) These 2 sets look awesome! Definitely going to get the Penguin set, as for the Man-Bat set, im kind of divided about it. I only want it because of the Nightwing mini-fig, Man-Bat doesn't interest me, the Batcopter im probably going to mow down for parts for my Arkham Batwing MOC and as for the Batman minifig, I feel like Lego wasted an opportunity to give us a New 52 Batman instead of the 2012 suit AGAIN which frankly is really annoying. But I am going to get the Riddler Chase set for Flash and the BTB-suit and the Batmobile, which reminds me of the Norm Breyfogle Batmobile, one of my all time favourites and maybe the Junior Batcave. Hope the Steamroller set shows promise! Edited November 2, 2013 by batmobileAO Quote
CaptainDeadpool15 Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Stupid bricktvshow,Sooo freaking lucky to have that flash! probably costed as much as 50$!! Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 I wouldn't think it would be too difficult to get your own sticks for Nightwing. Aren't they just the 3L/4L bar? It's not a deal breaker that they aren't included, but since they are such simple things to put in the set, it's a little annoying that they weren't. Anyone else notice though, how the sets name's start off with Batman:, I hope this means that there'll be some other superhero sets this year. I wish, but the sets this year had that in their names too. Quote
KingPixels Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 What he wears in the movie shouldn't matter, as it's based on the show. Even if it's branded with the show, they usually base the figures off the most iconic appearance, which is Thor without his helmet. And it saves them a new mould. Stupid bricktvshow,Sooo freaking lucky to have that flash! probably costed as much as 50$!! They were going on eBay for less than $20 but nobody was buying them since he's being released really soon. And they've probably made way more than $50 from ad revenue on that video so they don't care. Quote

BrickG Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Thor because of the movies at this point is probably more iconic without his helmet, at least to non-comic people. Kind of like how you constantly see people want Loki without his helmet for the Lego sets. :P Quote

Hey man trust me I'm with you. I'd much rather have Spider-Man battling Doc Ock on top of a building. New York has some awesome buildings and it'd be neat to see them fighting on something like the modular buildings. But that's because like everyone in here complaining, I'm an adult, and when I buy Spider-Man sets, it's because I love Spider-Man (or the Avengers, or Iron Man, basically all the Marvel stuff [and also Star Wars EU stuff!]), and I'm planning on displaying them. I don't need goofy Spider-Man vehicles either. I'm just explaining why we get them, and whose fault it is. I know I love learning new reasons behind things from TLG reps, and so I always assume everyone else wants to know why this thing they are always complaining about keeps happening. Quote
Ultron Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Kind of like how you constantly see people want Loki without his helmet for the Lego sets. :P I just want Loki with hair because the helmet isn't very good in my opinion. The horns don't curve out and then back, they just curve back and really bothers me. Or at least a new face. The current one is awfully generic Quote

The most iconic Thor is definitely not him without his helmet. That may be true for comic readers, but for the generation that's only seen Thor in the movies? Without a helmet is definitely more recognisable. Quote
Legoman123 Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 (edited) I am really looking forward to seeing the finished steam-roller set. Mainly because it it the Joker's so it has to have some weird/cool play features on it. Edited November 3, 2013 by Legoman123 Quote

Again I disagree, when you look at a lot of Marvel merchandise like, Wrapping paper, Phone covers, notebooks, shoes, wallets, ect they always feature all the heroes in their classic 60's outfits. On top of this just because People have seen the film doesn't mean it's iconic maybe recognisable, but not iconic. An example would be the Dark knight bat suit and logo, they are instantly recognisable but the iconic bat suit is the Blue and grey with the yellow circle logo. Freddy Bricker Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 (edited) I think the other thing that Penguin is holding (not the umbrella) is supposed to be his cigar. I think the other thing that Penguin is holding (not the umbrella) is supposed to be his cigar. Actually now that I look closer, the control device penguin has is not in his hands, and indeed, he has a short black tube-like thing in his hand. I think it may just be a cigar. If anything I'll quote the picture and point it out later, but I'll wait and see if I'm allowed to, I've read a couple of times that quoting pictures is a big no-no. And I agree with Darth Vader, we as adults do not contribute largely enough for TLG to make sets that will end up costing them money, on us. However I am still dissapointed with the sets, 2012 was basically a "make-up" year for lego, they had to remake sets from the old Batman line that year. And this year TLG had sets for Mos and TDKR to make, along with more characters and setting to remake. And if the theme lasts into 2015, Lego will be making sets off of the batman vs. Superman movie. So 2014 was, in a way, the only year lego and DC could have elaborated on more characters, yet they still made batman sets. That wouldn't be SO dissapointing had we gotten characters like Rha's Al Ghul, Talia Al Ghul, or even another Two Face (I would even take another Poison Ivy), but no, they had to give us Man-bat, who we basically already had, another riddler, and another joker. What makes it even worse, is that we get yet another Batmobile, Batcopter, and dragster. Except this time the dragster was given to the riddler, which doesn't help its case. But the one thing I don't understand, is why the marvel fans are complaining. Lego and DC are rinsing and repeating this entire line (it will at one point become as predictable as city) while marvel got 9 heroes o its 1st year, 2 more on its second, and my personal favorite: villains for different heroes. We got spiderman villains, Iron Man villains, Thor/Avengers villain, and X-Men villains. I can't say the same about DC, it's all Batman and superman, and even then Superman only got 5 villains, 3 of which were based on a movie, and 1 was an SDCC exclusive, which means we basically only got 1 comic superman villain. Pardon me for saying this, but I think this whole theme was just a giant middle finger to the public. I wouldn't be so mad however, if it weren't for the name of the theme. Don't call it DC superheros, that's misleading. Call it "Lego Batman and friends" and maybe the public won't be so suprised and dissapointed when all they see is batman. There is a plus side though, the lego movie stuff seems to be doing so well, I may just spend my money on that and save money on this theme, if anything. Now that I think about it though, there may always be a retail exclusive in January, or a second wave in the summer, but even then I'm 99.9% sure it'll be batman related. The other 1% goes for superman. Edited November 3, 2013 by Freddy Bricker Quote

Penguin is holding the detonator. Anyway, we don't know what to expect from 2015 yet. I'm sure there will be some Batman/Superman and Avengers sets, but there may always be a few comic ones mixed in. But the longer this theme goes on, the harder it is to be optimistic. I'm happy to get Batgirl, Flash, and Nightwing, but they could have done a lot better than Man-Bat and a repeat Riddler. The Captain America and Hulk sets sound good though. Quote
BrickG Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 lol a CIGAR? Lego would 100% never do that these days. It's a detonator. Quote

I mean we live in an era where if there's smoking in a movie it's mentioned in the rating. I mean you would have people protest if Lego did that. It would never happen. Quote

It's a realistic statement. Natalie Portman's character fell in love with him just because of that scene, at least that's what I could deduce with the complete lack of character development (it was super rushed :P). Quote
The_Creator Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 76011 is OK but as I can already make Man-Bat, Batman is just another black/yellow version, and Nightwing is the New 52 version which I personally don't like much as the '06 blue/black one. If it goes on sale I'll pick it up, but not at MSRP. 76010 is absolutely fantastic. Complete I mean COMPLETELY new Batman plus the Penguin in an $13 set?! Definite buy for me. Awaiting better pictures of the Marvel and other DC sets! Quote
