Gremer Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 I was looking for LEGO reviews and I started watching the forums, mainly SW and LotR. I decided to join to start talking. Quote
Tariq j Posted August 3, 2013 Author Posted August 3, 2013 I was looking for LEGO reviews and I started watching the forums, mainly SW and LotR. I decided to join to start talking. It's the same way I found eurobricks as well. Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I had heard about it on brickset, and first checked it out by spending 45 minutes looking through the Star Wars MOC index! Eventually I branched out into discussions and other threads. So I decided to plague you guys and sign up! Quote
SheepEater Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 (edited) I got back into Lego as an adult in 2002, so it's very hard for me to remember. I remember the name being thrown around more and more on Lugnet as that site got more and more stubborningly stuck in its ways. Then all the reviews on Brickset started linking to here. I'm amazed it took me this long to register - maybe because for a long time, I thought EB was german language only. Edited August 4, 2013 by SheepEater Quote
Athos Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 I really have no idea. Its been so long (almost 9 years) I can't remember. Steve Quote
Darkdragon Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 I was a member of Classic-Castle and Bricklink "community" but they didn't really take for me, then the CMF Series 1 review came out here (linked on a Bricklink forum post). I was very impressed with the organization, moderation, and everything about the community and joined right away. It took a few months before I became active though. I think I had 2 posts for about 6 months. Quote
Steven L Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Long story short. About a year ago I perchased a DSLR camera. Through a friend, I joined DeviantArt. A website to share and appreciate all kinds of art. From sculptures to photo's to paintings. It's there that I saw a 3d rendering of a LEGO quad. The maker added text to the render, where he explained what programs he used. The first one was LEGO Digital Designer. It's free software so I thought:"why not." and downloaded LDD. I used to play a lot with LEGO when I was a kid, so it took me back on memory lane. Now I'm hooked on LDD. A week ago I had a few difficulties with a complex build, so I searched the internet for a manual. On my search I found EB and decided to join. ...So, I found EB through Google, basically. Quote
Tariq j Posted August 20, 2013 Author Posted August 20, 2013 Interesting story Steven L, it's amazing to think that a camera helped you find EB. Quote
LegoDrake Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 (edited) I found Eurobricks while on Brickset looking for set reviews.I lurked in the shadows for a few months, then finally got the nerve to sign-up and BAM hear I am. Edited August 21, 2013 by LegoDrake Quote
Steven L Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Interesting story Steven L, it's amazing to think that a camera helped you find EB. Thank you. @LegoDrake: for me no lurking in the shadows. My criteria was that this wasn't a kid's forum. As soon as I knew this is an adult forum, I joined. I'm here just a couple of days, but I find it here quite nice and friendly. Quote
