ResIpsaLoquitur Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I don't know if this is the best place to share this, but I just got back from a preview screening of The LEGO Movie, and it was as good as you'd ever hope. If you have some small questions to ask, feel free. I can confirm that the guy there is Gandalf, and can further confirm that Dumbledore is elsewhere in the film. I cannot state how amazing the movie was enough. I am guessing that a lot of the Disney licensed characters had very non-obvious appearances. However, I am desperately hoping that we see Lego Obi-Wan Kenobi, Gandalf, and Dumbledore team up. (I have heard that Luke Skywalker shows up...true?) Quote
Jay Sathe Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 (I have heard that Luke Skywalker shows up...true?) Luke, nope, but that's not to say Star Wars is entirely out of the film..... Quote
Cammo Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 My guess is some Star Wars chase will be happening in the background while the main cast flies in space in Benny's spaceship spaceship SPACESHIP. Quote
SandMirror38 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 please say gandalf has an amazing moment! Quote
legofreak86 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 The track on the soundtrack titled middle Zealand may suggest a cameo of the citizens of Lego's middle earth... I read a rumour that Gandalf appears in it apparently. Quote
Mencot Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 :wub_drool: -Sci Whoa actually, like I thought TLG won´t ever make these sets available for sale because they are all like huge and too plain awesome. (Big pessimist, I know I am) But they will, THIS IS AWESOME. Oh man now i have to get them all, my wallet will not like this. Quote
TNT apples Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Looking at the cast list on http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_lego_movie/ it looks like Han Solo, Lando and C-3P0 are all in this movie, and having speaking roles Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I think it might be time to start using spoiler tags when discussing the movie... Quote
TNT apples Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I think it might be time to start using spoiler tags when discussing the movie... Yep, especially as the movie comes out on different days in different countries. Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP...is beautiful, next to the new Ninjago Temple, on the top of my buy list! Quote
MrSinistar Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP...is beautiful, next to the new Ninjago Temple, on the top of my buy list! I totally second that. Also, I believe Benny's Spaceship is the second LEGO set to have windscreen part 13252, which was only available in 10240 Red Five X-Wing Starfighter in trans-clear (and going for crazy prices on Bricklink). To get a rare windscreen in trans-yellow is excellent for MOC Neo-Classic Space builders. Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 the classic space sets from the 1970's and 1980's (long before I was born) Are very cool and benny's ship look very similar (for obvious reasons) and almost as in it's a huge combo of some of them! Quote
Risgrynsgrot Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 So when do you think that LEGO will officially reveal the Sea cow since it's apparently going to be up for purchase February 17th? Quote
Scootercide Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Finally definite way to get PJ Emmet. "Beginning February 7, all RealD 3D Regal locations playing "THE LEGO® MOVIE" will give away a Limited Edition LEGO Minifigure to Regal Crown Club members. The "Pyjamas Emmet" giveaway will be available to 3D moviegoers while supplies last." http://online.wsj.com/article/PR-CO-20140130-916403.html Quote
Risgrynsgrot Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Luke, nope, but that's not to say Star Wars is entirely out of the film..... Is it true that the movie is a musical? I'm thinking that there's a musical act at emmets work, when they're building, and I think that Lord Business is going to have one too.. Quote
xtremegoogler Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Youtube channel Atamaii shows Benny's spaceship at around 2m40s Quote
Sarah Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Lego needs to do more videos about their sets like this. Its really quite a bit more impressive seeing it work in person -- and noticing how sturdy the models are. NOT falling apart! Quote
jonwil Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 In that Colosseum picture, can anyone identify the orange guy near the statue of liberty, mime and wrestler guy? Quote
SMC Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Thanks I wanted both those sets and now I want them even more, could the spaceship be the best set ever! Hobbit House/Helms Deep watch out Quote
TNT apples Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 (edited) Youtube channel Atamaii shows Benny's spaceship at around 2m40s Good lord that wing function just made this set even more of a must-buy for me Edited February 1, 2014 by LuxorV Quote
Infernum Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Wow, look at all the functions in Benny's set and the dropship! Quote
Lego Spy Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 In that Colosseum picture, can anyone identify the orange guy near the statue of liberty, mime and wrestler guy? That would be the exclusive Pre-Order minifigure that came with Lego Universe. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 After that video I'm buying the Spaceship and the Dropship. And the mech. And maybe I could save some VIP points toward Metalbeards ship. Quote
