TNT apples Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Do you know if it will be available from WH Smith as well? They usually are. It seems to only be available at Toys R Us: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/prmts/article-2556598/LEGO.html Which is annoying for me, as it means I can't get it Quote

Fives Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Does anyone find it funny how Johnny Thunder is included in the upcoming Police chopper set, yet he didn't make any sort of significant appearance in the film? It seems that LEGO included him just to fullfill the wishes of so many fans for an updated Jonhnny. Also, it's a shame we're getting Robot Disguise Emmet, yet not the same for Wyldstyle. Quote
Super Goblin Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Yeah Johnny and the Green Ninja were a waste. One of them should have been Green Lantern. Quote
Gremer Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I wouldn't doubt that Robo-Wyldstyle comes in the DVD. Quote
bekindsorewind Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Yeah Johnny and the Green Ninja were a waste. One of them should have been Green Lantern. Johnny Thunder is really cool to represent a LEGO character as a Master-Builder. I agree that Lloyd should've been replaced with GL, since GL did have an appearance in the scene this set will be recreating. Quote

Disclaimer: I am not privy to how the licensing for characters in The Lego Movie, or the licensing involved with putting Batman in a Lego Movie set, works. My hypothesis for why Green Lantern wasn't included in any sets is that there was a sort of paradox. It may have cost licensing money for Batman to appear in a non-Super Heroes set (which would explain why he only appears in one set despite being an important character). So if that were the case, for Green Lantern they'd either have to shoehorn him into the set with Batman (which would make that set overloaded with superheroes, as opposed to the variety of themes that set currently represents) or pay additional money to feature him in a set that didn't already feature DC characters. I'd love a Green Lantern fig as much as anyone, although personally in that case I'd have preferred the movie to have featured a comic-based Green Lantern fig, to go with the comic-styled Superman and Wonder Woman in the movie. Taiphun Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Received a bunch of Valentine's cards from Warner Brothers, the studio promoting the movie. Sorry for the grainy nexus 4 camera picture.. they all say "I think you are AWESOME!" Quote

Very nice that there is the option, though. Quote

One of them should have been Green Lantern. Uh, though Johnny is indeed important in Lego action history, IMO most TLM physical minifigures except the original characters don't have too much to do with the whole movie story. Honestly I don't need Lloyd and Batman (and the suggested Green Latern, sorry guys) since they can all be found in current line. If GL still doesn't appear in other licensed sets, it's just that TLC or DC don't want to produce him. It could be interesting if TLC made an online poll that allows us to choose which two Lego characters deserve to revive the most . A Hard Hat Wyldstyle is interesting, however, the problem is I don't see TLC would make the third exclusive headpiece (helmet with a tail on the top) for her unless all her hairpieces can be used for future generic minifigures. Received a bunch of Valentine's cards from Warner Brothers, the studio promoting the movie. Not a good Valentine gift for DC fans though. Edited February 14, 2014 by Dorayaki Quote

I wouldn't look PERFECT, but it could do. Edited February 14, 2014 by just2good Quote
Darth Punk Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I think part of the reason green lantern is not in a set is because the lego movie is mainly focuses on non licensed material. While yes licensed figures are including because they draw in certain interests and certainly are a part of TLG's success, in the movie they are mostly secondary. Batman provides some balance while at the same time the movie makes fun of him constantly. TLG has indicated that they wish to become a little less reliant on licensed material which while having made the company profitable can be a challenge working with. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 And that the GL used is SDCC exclusive. I'm so glad I got him cheap two years ago before he got into the $200 range. Quote
tafkatb Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 And that the GL used is SDCC exclusive. I'm so glad I got him cheap two years ago before he got into the $200 range. Off topic, but according to the Bricklink price guide one sold for two dollars last month! Regarding potential DVD figures, prologue Vitruvius is the most likely candidate. Quote
legofreak86 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I sure hope Vitruvius from the prologue is going to be in the dvd/blu ray. I really liked his wizard design and it'd be good so you can recreate the prologue once you have that figure which was a really good opening scene. Hope they'd include him in a polybag rather than built into dvd/blu ray case. So they could include have his prologue staff with him! Quote
eiker86 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I got this set tonight. I bought it in no special store. It came from LEGO. And also got to buy this one =) Quote

pcvando Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 How did you buy the tin? That tin is a media or reporter exclusive tin. It contains mini figures and a movie theatre with seats, it is selling on ebay for 100's of dollars.... The polybag is new to me. Quote
eiker86 Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I got it in a auction at AFOL night :) The same with the polybag. Quote
