All right, this theme gets crazier and cooler everytime I see new pics/read news. Truly in Lego's zany and fun spirit. I'll get some Series 12 bags for sure, as for the sets I need to see the pics of course.

2 in 1? Interesting!

-Sci

Maybe that refers to there being two ways to build the set? An alternate model.

The box for the Castle Cavalry set says the same thing. So all hope is not lost, I think it will be two models, one for the castle pod racer thing, and the alternate build as a regular castle set.

It would match the film storyline, Emmet is a regular builder, while Wyldstyle is a master builder. The difference is master builders build wacky stuff while Emmet can only build something specific based on instructions. So having sets with two models, one practical and one more whimsical would be a creative way to tie in the film.

I think I just fell in love with Wyldstyle. She is everything I look for in a minifig.!!! LOL I need to find a real woman with the same values

I hope the her actual Wyldstyle minifigure has her raised collar as a separate piece and not have it be a printing.

And I just realized that Emett's hair is not just the traditional male piece but has a tuft of hair sticking out a back corner.

There is a new video for him as well:

Ladies and mentlegen, I present to you Metalbeard. He's certainly not what I expected.

Nick Offerman is famed for his facial hair. The Parks and Recreation star even had a mustache manifesto in his recent memoir Paddle Your Own Canoe.

Now said facial hair has been immortalized as the pirate Metalbeard in The Lego Movieopening Feb. 7. But Metalbeard is more than just a snap-on beard.

In fact, his character's beard is almost dwarfed by everything a pirate would need, including Jolly Rogers flags, built-on arm cannons, steering wheels and, well, arm sharks.

He's described by distributor Warner Bros as "half pirate, half utility knife, with a knack for doing things the hard way."

I think we are now getting a feel for what we will get with the movie and the sets, something a little bit crazy

Like a (well-stocked) 12-year-old kid's bedroom floor three hours after the bucket has been dumped in a pile!

Has anyone posted the trailer yet, it has some new clips in it including the robotic cowboy minifigure.

This robotic cowboy is not Metalbeard, it just Lord Business's henchman in cowboy disguise.

Yeah that's what it looks like, I like it something different but I am unsure how many of the sets will be must buys for me at this rate, have to wait and see.

The more time it passes, the more I recall...

Correct me if I am wrong...

Nope, there's definitely a common thread between the LEGO Movie and Time Cruisers/Time Twisters. They're both what I like to call "potpourri themes", blending concepts from various unrelated themes into something new and crazy. You get shades of that in themes like Ninjago (ninjas and other historical/fantasy elements in an anachronistic, high-tech setting) or BIONICLE (biomechanical aliens on a tropical island, using magical powers to fight evil), but sometimes the zaniest and most imaginative themes of this sort are ones like the LEGO Movie where the only unifying thread is an unbridled spirit of creative play. In themes like BIONICLE and Ninjago, there's a certain distinctive flavor that can be lost if you venture too far from the theme's unifying traits (for instance, I don't know how well Ninjago could handle a space opera storyline, and BIONICLE took itself VERY seriously compared to most LEGO themes). But in a franchise like The LEGO Movie, anything goes!

I quote anything you say, but I still find it difficult to find that stuff appealing. I bet a dime they will appeal little kids, what Lego is for, but that theme won't drag any afol into it, I suppose.

This zany style is not for me. But that is okay. I just wonder if some of these 2 in 1 builds have something more my style. As it is, I just want a Wildstyle and perhaps some CMF if they appeal to me.

I'm really liking the sets the more I hear of them! 2014 is going to be a busy year for me along with the new superhero sets :thumbdown:
