Haltiamieli Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 (edited) Why does the ice cream truck have an Octan sticker on it? In the movie Octan is an evil megacorporation that seems to own pretty much all of Lego City, including ice cream production. Puts some other Lego sets into rather different light, doesn't it... Lego Spy Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 (edited) I think this is 70805 Waste Crusher =) Screenshot from Lego Movie Trailer 6. I think you're right. We know for a fact that several of these sets are "2 in 1"s, so this is probably one of two forms of this. The other form is this one, which is "under the cloth". Ceroknight Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 There is so much awesomeness in the sets I don't know where to begin! I'm also glad there aren't any licensed figures included Quote
DPrime Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Kind of disappointed we haven't seen some kind of Classic Space themed set... or at least blue 1980s space guy. But I guess we still have some surprises left. Here's hoping! Quote
The Architect Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Its certainly looks... interesting. Quote
Zzz Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Those sets really look great, and I like the concept of having a normal and a transformed one to build. This is what lego is about and so many seem to forget that you can create whacky things from a simple set. I feel that the movie holds the potential to be the ultimate marketing and instruction for how the toys is meant to work, how every single set is meant to work - and that is in endless ways. Now if only the prices for these sets are right, lately Lego was a little too overconfident about pricing their sets - at least outside the US. Quote
parksroad Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Also withholding judgment until I see the alternate models. I wonder if it will be more like a Creator total rebuild or if there's some kind of transformer-style play feature. Quote

Hrw-Amen Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 So this bearded guy, what is his name, 'Vitruvius(?)' his staff has that kind of chewed bit look that I had so many of when I was a kid, as I expect we all did. Are they actually going to employ an army of seven to eleven year old kids and ply them with buckets of staffs to chew their way through in order to get that authentic look for his Mini-Figure's staff, do they have an old chewed one that they are just going to make a model from and cast them ready chewed? His staff is a mostly-eaten lollipop. The set version will use a Monster Fighter moonstone, though. Quote

Piranha Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 I would not be surprised if the largest (and yet unreleased) set will indeed be a huge honkin' Classic Space cruiser Now I can't wait to see it. Benny the Space guy has been mentioned to play an important role in the film. In addition there were several large trans yellow windscreens found in LEGO's database recently. Now THAT is a cool thought.... More than just a thought. Quote

Tom Jurassic Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 A Spaceship would indeed be a very, very awesome addition to the line. Considering the ending of Wii-U City Undercover, I would not be surprised if there is a Space Battle in the Movie. Still, Spaceships always equal thumbs up from me. ;) Quote
Ondra Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Wow big retro spaceship with my favourite character aka 1980 space guy?Too good to be true. I think same way as lego, set that is big and can make happy kids and afols at the same time :-D .Lets hope, that ship is soul remake of set 6985 . Quote
skalidor14 Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 just to let everyone know, im new here. besides that, uni kitty is the brick built cat in the colorful palace set. Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 There are 2 space sets I can think of ,1 1980s space guys ship in the trailer and 2 the thing the Micro Managers come out of in sky. Quote

That ship from trailer doesnt seems to be something that is going to resemble classic space. That ship looks rather ugly than honkin.Like something that is build from scrapyard or stolen from robots or octan corporation. But Im certainly sure, that we are going to see last remain sets in the movie Quote

Yeah, I like what it seems they're doing here... the sets' official builds look like something a kid might create, which is a really cool aesthetic for this kind of film. I don't know if I dig it enough to buy them, though... Maybe for the parts, we'll see. Also withholding judgment until I see the alternate models. I wonder if it will be more like a Creator total rebuild or if there's some kind of transformer-style play feature. It seems like some of them are obvious (bus/van something, Castle), but others not so much. Should be interesting! I would not be surprised if the largest (and yet unreleased) set will indeed be a huge honkin' Classic Space cruiser Me neither... or maybe I'm just getting my hopes up. :) Now I can't wait to see it. I'm not sure what you mean by "soul remake" (spiritual successor?), but I think I'd rather see something new, than just a remake. Though I suppose a slightly updated Galaxy Explorer or something would be cool. 6985 too, though it seems much less iconic for such a thing... I don't expect we'll see any light grey, but that's fine, I suppose. :) Quote
Ondra Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Yes I mean spiritual successor, I m not too good in english :-) . Quote
LordLEGOtube Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 (edited) interesting, although most of them are very repetitive: a normal vehicle with a twist that has been turned into a flying vehicle and a cubic black flying robot with claws and translucent red eyes.
