Amazing Bricks Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Looking at the actual Trash Chomper in this video, i really like it now! He added the other build in the set. Quote
Lego Spy Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 (edited) ^Interesting, I don't know how I feel about the "wings" on each side though. Edited December 22, 2013 by Lego Spy Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I'm pretty sure you can easily remove it. Quote
just2good Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Here's some very quick pictures I took of the Garbage Chomper set: And my video review here: Overall, it's a pleasant surprise of a set! I really like both builds. Granted, the "Trash Chomper" build is a bit flimsy. I love the minifigures though, and the price is excellent. Quote
greeny Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I'm not sure if I like those 'creative builds' now. I'm not intrested in having an Ice-Cream van or a Garbage truck and I think the alternate builds just look ugly now. I liked the look of them when they were first revealed, but now I'm not interested I think I'll pick up the rest of the sets like Metalbeard's duel and the Super Cycle chase though. Quote
jluck Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Or when all the sets are released, I'll go on the LEGO's Missing pieces website for the minifigs that is in the set (such as Normal Wyldstyle, Vitruvius and El Macho Wrestler) rather than buying the set or ordering at bricklink to save more money. I'm confused, are you saying you'll use the missing pieces site to pick up minifigs? Is this a common, accepted practice? Seems a little dishonest. Still, your right when you say BL is a great way to save money if you just want the figs. Quote
SMC Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 You can buy thing on the missing pieces site can't you? Quote
jluck Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 You can buy thing on the missing pieces site can't you? Gotcha, if that's the case I wasn't aware of it. No offense I hope! Quote
Sirtank Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 My local Toys R us put the sets out this morning. They had everything but the Rescue Reinforcements, Flying Flusher, and Creative Ambush. I picked up a full set of 16 minifigs and the Super Cycle Chase. When my Wife got home from work she told me she had a $15 off coupon, so we ended up going back and I picked up Ice Cream Machine, Cuckoo Palace, and Getaway Glider. Quote
jonwil Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Does anyone have any close-up pictures of the minifigs in the plumber van set or the fire mecha set? Quote
JeagerEX Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 You can buy thing on the missing pieces site can't you? Only at the pick a brick website and buy a piece section, but the broken, missing and a piece broke while building are given free replacement parts and minifig parts. Quote
Dr Leg O Brick Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Gotcha, if that's the case I wasn't aware of it. No offense I hope! Thing is, you can get stuff from there, but it is cheating Lego out of stuff. There was talk of some kind of restriction or even cancelation of the service (don't quote me on that, I'm not sure where I read it) due to people using it to effectively get exclusive parts/minifigs in large quantity's and sell them on for twice the price. As for weather its excepted, I've seen both sides of the argument, cheat Bricklink and the after market from charging stupid money for stuff you want and get a good deal, or that your cheating the Lego company out of money and possibly put a good service out of action for people who need it. Quote
dark1san Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Found 4 boxes of the minis two were picked through, two werent. Got my Abe, 2 panda guys, taco guy, barista, and scribble face cop. They had the ice cream truck set and the cloud cucko palace. Found them in lancaster,pa Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 (edited) WILEY FUSEBOT for the win. Love this fig, even if I'll be swapping out the head and hands to make him human later tonight. Some great figs in this series. Edited December 22, 2013 by Mr. Elijah Timms Quote
Lego Spy Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 I'm pretty sure you can easily remove it. True, though I think I'll be getting Cloud Cuckoo Palace instead. Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Well dang nabbit here's ol Wiley as a regular normal frontiersman! Quote
just2good Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 More quick pictures! This time of the Getaway Glider set: This one I found at Target. Overall, it's a great parts pack! The glider itself is a little unsturdy and it annoys me that it can't stand on its own, but I still love the nice pieces we get in the set- especially the two new moulds found on the Sheriff Not-a-robot figure. And, of course, if video reviews are your thing... Quote
Ridge Montante Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Just2good where do you have the money for all these new sets? Quote
just2good Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Just2good where do you have the money for all these new sets? IOUs. Kidding, I save up my money I get payed. I didn't buy much LEGO in December sans two (of the biggest) Princess sets. And, believe me, this is only a fraction of the sets I got today. Quote
Ridge Montante Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Well its pretty awesome. Love seeing the pics and reviews you put up. Keep up the good work. Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Only at the pick a brick website and buy a piece section, but the broken, missing and a piece broke while building are given free replacement parts and minifig parts. Isn't that like stealing because the piece didn't break or it wasn't missing either. I know you can buy minifigs from the buy pieces section if you don't want to get the whole set. That is what I did. Quote

There's no problem about it and they don't ask me to pay for it as long as is not for the very old set like the ones from 2000 or 2003. Edited December 23, 2013 by JeagerEX Quote

I just don't feel it's right to claim a piece is broken just to score some free stuff. Quote

just2good Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 And... here's stuff for the Melting Room! Here's the video review: And, some quick pictures: This set is a little bit disappointing. I really wish Wyldstyle's hood piece didn't have all that extra printing, as it makes it exclusive to her. There's something off about the melting room itself, but I do like the design and the play features. Well its pretty awesome. Love seeing the pics and reviews you put up. Keep up the good work. Thank you! This means a lot to me! I will keep it up. Quote
