That pirate ship is awful as set but in movie I love it.Why this happen?I think main problem is in fact, that ship have all features as full size movie ship so it looks like some sort of messy Time cruiser UCS.

If this ship will be released without movie, I think it will be fail.

Erm, how exactly is this awful? If the ship was released without the movie, then it won't sell? It's a pirate ship. Kids love pirates. So do a lot of AFOLs.

I just got the Store Calendar for February. Check these out...

That's obviously the promotional polybag for the set. (A lot of lines get two polys, so I wonder whether there will be another and if so, what.) I'm not too impressed, given that almost every set comes with Emmett and the 1 x 1 x 2 brick. If I see it at TRU or Target, I may grab one.

Sweet! My daughter and I do the Monthly Mini-Build every month, so this looks full of win and I bet it'll be pretty popular. I'm actually moderately worried, because I may actually be busy that day and might not be able to go. (I could ask my wife to take my daughter, but I bet I'll owe a lot of favors if I do that....) This MicroManager looks like he'll be compatible with the main line. I was wondering if they'd do a micro ship from the film or something, but this is way better. If you don't live near a store or don't have a kid, Lego always puts out the parts list and instructions, so hit Bricklink and you can easily build your own. If I make it to this event, I promise to post photos of the parts.

Also, the monthly Store Lego Club meeting for February is themed around the movie. Attending a Club meeting usually nets you a "free" set (it's included in your reservation fee), so I'm guessing kids will get either the Melting Room or the Getaway Glider...plus a t-shirt with Lord Business on it (which I didn't photograph).

As comedy and fantasy movie vehicle it is ok but If I look at this set like it is some kind of standalone thing I must say Is awful, because is unproportional a have many weird things,.Also I dont want to give about 250 euros for something, that Im afraid to show someone who Isnt familiar with lego especially cannon of lego movie.

Also I think that many kids will not get this set because of Its price...

I kinda agree with Ondra. To me the design is pretty bad, it's too childish and goofy with that huge stern. To me, it looks like the design is for kids (it's probably very fun to play with) but the pricing is for AFOLs.

Sure, it's a cool build, and most likely have tonnes of useful pieces for Pirate MOCs, but really I think you can get better parts for 250 bucks than this..

Great find, indeed!

It's also how Thor found the Cosmic Cube!

Yeah, I was just thinking that the POR set is a lot like the Cosmic Cube bag, or a smaller version of Riddles for the Ring.

I've noticed that polybags often include unique parts--most often hairpieces. I assume that Lego not only uses them to promote a line on the cheap, but also to get some extra use out of a mold. (Remember, Lego molds are VERY expensive--when you want Lego to make a highly specialized piece, it costs them an extra $30,000. That's probably why we see so much part recycling.) So this set probably lets them reuse Emmet's hair and the POR one more time. If I had to guess, a second TLM polybag might have Lucy, since she has the unique hair and hood elements.

250.0 seems fair for that "pirate" ship. it is HUGE and detailed, and 2700 pieces. Hey, if it wasn't for Benny's space ship, this set would have easily been the best set ever. Definitely beats any licensed set, for sure.

I, for one, would rather pay for two Benny's space ships than one of these, but I am sure that people with more pirate/steam punk tastes are loving this.

Is there a release date for the Pirate Ship yet? (Sorry if it has already been posted somewhere)

On the latest calendar, someone told me that it says a "new exclusive set" will be available starting February 17th for V.I.P. members. Since The Simpsons House D2C is coming in April and the Sandcrawler D2C is coming in May, I'd guess that exclusive set in the Pirate Ship set, which leads it to a March 1st release for non-V.I.P. members.

Yeah that makes sense, especially given the movie is released in February. Thanks for the answer!

I have a LEGO seller who apparently has a brother in the LEGO factory here in Mexico, he took the picture and put it with a price tag of $2,500 MXN, around $191 USD, but you gotta include his revenue, so I would say thath the price would be around $150 USD

He speaks!

Hmm, so I guess sets are leaking out of the Mexican factories now. That's something else.

Does the brother happen to have a picture of the new The Simpsons House set?

Two more new polybags for The LEGO Movie- 30282 Super Secret Police Enforcer (includes a Super Secret Police guy) and 30281 Micro Manager Battle (includes Wyldstyle).

Good find. I wonder when and where they'll be available?

I forgot to mention earlier that the February calendar mentions some free Lego Movie parts pack when you visit the store between the end of January and February. I'm guessing it's like the Friends parts pack that came out a few months ago. There's also this Piece of Resistance book which comes with a cop figure.

I guess if someone wants to get absolutely every TLM set and figure, there will be a lot of hunting. (Oh, and I'm calling it now--the TLM DVD will come with an exclusive figure. What, I don't know.)

Would you, or someone else that has it, mind putting up a scan of the whole calendar? My store did not have them this morning.

The calendar is up on the Store webpage. It defaults to the January calendar, but click on the arrow to the right to see the Feb one.

Weird - I'm not seeing the arrow, even after refreshing the page. Could you either post or PM me the direct link to the PDF?
