phonciplebone Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 The VIP early release will most likely be the Sea Cow. We already have box images and everything, and it is close enough to the movie release to tap into the hype. All other major sets are just rumors or hearsay right now. Quote
Lego Spy Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 ^I'd like to know the official price as soon as possible. Quote

DannyRww Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 That would still seem out of the blue to release that in February.......I'm still thinking there are other sets in the second wave that we don't know about...it just seems odd they they are all fairly high priced sets. Quote

It would just be Metalbeard's Sea Cow released in February as an early release for V.I.P. members. The other three would be May/August releases. The Sea Cow set is a D2C, and D2C sets are usually released solo. Quote
Dorayaki Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 It's good to see these real deals coming. I think it should also be what other licensed themes do too: if they want to release products before the movie, there should be some sets based on spoilers that can only be released after the movie premiere. TheLegoDr Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I'm saying 'nope' as in 'Definitely not getting the set now!' -Sci Okay then. It can be difficult to understand people at times, sorry if I came across as rude then. If it is $150, that'd be great. I'm just going by what our local manager said. I still don't think I'd pay $150 for it just because I can think of a lot of other great sets that could use that money. As much as I love ships, it isn't what I would want to display. Quote
CM4Sci Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Two LEGO Movie polybags revealed Two more new polybags for The LEGO Movie- 30282 Super Secret Police Enforcer (includes a Super Secret Police guy) and 30281 Micro Manager Battle (includes Wyldstyle). -Sci Quote
JeagerEX Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) Finally, a normal Wyldstyle with hair in a cheap polybag rather than buying a Cuckoo Cloud Palace or a Super Cycle Chase. Anyways it is either Walmart, Target or Toys R US polybag exclusive? I hope will be Walmart or Toys R US exclusive. Edited January 2, 2014 by JeagerEX Quote
Cult_Of_Skaro Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 We've had pictures of Simpsons House and Sandcrawler already? I apologize, I thought you meant the other summer LEGO Movie sets. Quote
Brickadiergerard Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Does anyone know about the availability of the sets in the UK, outside of legoshop.com? I haven't been able to find them anywhere I wanted to find this out too - no sign of them anywhere, and I can find no dates online either. It's frustrating isn't it? I really want to get my hands on some of the collectable minifigures bags. Quote
ResIpsaLoquitur Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) Taking an LDD stab at what Micro Manager Battle will look like: If this is it, I don't think that's too bad-looking. I'm hoping that's film accurate, since licensed polybags often take liberties. (As said earlier, Thor certainly didn't find the Cosmic Cube in some contraption.) Most of the bigger set Micro Managers are made of 4 x 4 or 6 x 6 plates, so a 2 x 2 is pretty puny...but maybe there are some in the film that are that small. As it is, this could be a nice way to get some Micro Managers on the cheap since most of them come in the $30 and up sets. I'm guessing that Wyldestyle will get a set of nunchucks, as I can't imagine what else the telescopes and chain are for. Edited January 2, 2014 by ResIpsaLoquitur Quote
phonciplebone Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I apologize, I thought you meant the other summer LEGO Movie sets. My apologies as well. I was a little vague in my first response. And yes, I know the Benny Spaceship and Construction Mech are all but confirmed now. Was so excited when I saw the pics of the spaceship and was so happy to see my pics of it spread like wild online. Lord Insanity Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) I did some quick color correcting on MetalBeard's Sea Cow. It is far from perfect but it looks alot better now. This steampunk flying pirate ship is awesome. (Okay I am just guessing it flies. I mean why wouldn't a steampunk pirate ship fly. ) Oh and Benny's spaceship looks awesome too. Those two sets alone make the whole movie line whorthwhile to me. Edited January 2, 2014 by Lord Insanity Quote
ResIpsaLoquitur Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I want instructions for the couch. Because let's face it, most of us will not have the money to blow on the ship, but we probably all have enough parts lying around to make the Double-Decker Couch for watching TV with our buddies. Quote

As much as I love ships, it isn't what I would want to display. I think you are sort of highlighting the potential problem with the Sea Cow as a hugely priced D2C set. It may turn out to be just a bit too weird and wacky for that high of a price point. I know the Pirate fans would love a good ship even a strange fantasy one. The SciFi and Adventure folks would love a nice Steampunk ship. But this one looks like it might be just a hair over the top for either group. If it hits around $150 USD it might do well. $250 It will be a shelf warmer. Whereas Benny's space ship quite possibly might be the best selling set at that $100'ish price point next year. (Although it will face stiff competition from the ATAT.) Quote
Spider-Man Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Hmmm, seems to me that the Sea Cow drastically needs more canons. Quote
Lego Spy Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) Hmmm, seems to me that the Sea Cow drastically needs more canons. Aren't those cannons, under the large propeller? Edited January 3, 2014 by Lego Spy Quote
PenPlays Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I just bought the Ice Cream Machine and Bad Cop's Pursuit. I've only built the Truck form of the Ice Cream Machine, and I have to say that it looks charming even in mid-build. The finished vehicle is absolutely adorable! The truck may very well be the best set of the wave (I'll make that decision when I have them all). The Micro Managers are also cool, an I'm interested in getting them all, considering it looks like they combine in some shape or form. Quote
Lego Spy Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 (edited) Hopefully, I'll be picking up Cloud Cuckoo Palace tomorrow, but snow has to be added to that equation... Edited January 3, 2014 by Lego Spy Quote
danth Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 It's going to be a looong wait for that space ship. What if I die before then? At least I will have died excited. Quote
