Brandon Miller Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 There was a post the other day talking about an exclusive minifigure available at Target when you reserve the Lego Movie game for $1. Anyone know where that post is? I've searched and searched to no avail. Quote
CM4Sci Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 OH I remember they did this for the LEGO City Undercover game. I'm gonna have to go see if they do have something for it. Then never buy the game. -Sci Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) Bleah. The AMC bonus requires you to be a Stubbs member. Stubbs membership requires you to pay $12. So I'd have to pay $12 plus $15 for a ticket to get a Minifigure which, by all rights, should be worth $3. Pass. At least a Regal membership is free and the Pajamas Emmet is more appealing anyway. really, a membership? I don't have a Regal by me. I do have the S6 Sleepyhead though. Close enough. My aunt manages a Walmart. So I'll try to get a Radio Robot through her. Then I can get both pre-order figs with only one copy of the game. (I could also get the 3DS version through Walmart but I'm gonna wait till it goes on sale, 3DS games are $40!) Edited January 28, 2014 by Tolkien Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Local Walmart has all Movie sets on clearance now. That's insane! Where are you? Quote
Brandon Miller Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 That's insane! Where are you? Middle Tennessee. Not a huge markdown yet but they are on clearance. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) Amazing. I've seen individual sets clearanced at Walmart in just a couple months or so before, but never an entire theme just weeks after it comes out. Wow. Edited January 28, 2014 by Blondie-Wan Quote
jonwil Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Hopefully the movie-bonus figs are available at theaters in Australia (that said, I have vision problems that prevent me from viewing 3D films so I probably wouldn't be able to take advantage anyway) Quote
TheLegoDr Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 ^not to worry. Upwards of 20% or more of people have that problem. Binocular vision is a tricky one. Quote
MrSinistar Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Hi guys, been following this thread for a while now. Super excited to see the movie. I'm annoyed by how unprofessional both Regal and AMC have been already. I called AMC to double check and see if they're doing the promotion and they haven't even heard of it. Granted, it was only just recently announced but you think the theater operators would have this information way before the public does. The AMC theater near me didn't even know if they can give one figure out per ticket or just one figure per cardholder. I really hope it's the former. Fortunately I have an Regal near me, however they also didn't know if they were going to do the promotion or not. Fortunately the Regal card membership should be free and I'm already a cardholder so Pajama Emmet should be fairly easy to get, provided the theater is actually offering them. If my local one doesn't, I have to go to the next two counties to grab one, ugh. Quote
TNT apples Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Some new screenshots from the movie, super pumped for it now http://collider.com/the-lego-movie-images-batman/ (Some look a bit spoilerish) Quote
jtr Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 70 pages are a lot to read through, so sorry for repeating. I can't wait for the movie, i think i(or really hope) it will be great, dare I say cult classic (tounge i check), even for non AFOLs ? Set wise I'm very exceited to see a classic space remake - an absolute 1st day minute must buy. Othe sets that are must buys include, evil lair, plumber and the exo-skeloton suit (sorry no set numbers). Can't wait ! In Aus we have to wait untill April school holidays. Quote
BrickBuilder3213 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I've just seen the Cloud Cuckoo Land video! Unikitty is adorable! >W< Also, was that a glimpse of Angry Kitty that we saw for a moment? .o. Quote

Alpinemaps Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I live in a major metropolis, and we only have two or three AMC theaters here. They're about 45 minutes away from me. Add the $12 AMC membership fee, and I'm out. I like the DJ Robot, but that just makes it too much. I'd preorder the game, but a) I don't really want/need another video game, and b) if I don't keep the game, then I've got to sell it, and it's just too big of a pain to deal with - especially because I won't be the only one doing that (how many others are going to do that?) We'll be going to an Edwards, but we all hate 3-D. So, I may pass on it there, too. Just don't know that it's worth it. Quote
CM4Sci Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Does anyone think the AMC at the Mall of America (20 minutes away from me) is doing this? -Sci Quote
just2good Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Does anyone think the AMC at the Mall of America (20 minutes away from me) is doing this? -Sci Why wouldn't they? Maybe you should call them next week. Quote
DannyRww Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I won tickets to see the movie Early from Lego Discovery Center In Chicago. It is at an AMC but a) I'm not a stubs member and b) I have no desire to buy tickets again....wish these mini figures weren't tied to the clubs like they are...stillexcited to take the kids to see the movie early though. Quote
bekindsorewind Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Registering for a $12 membership and paying $10+ for a movie ticket for the DJ isn't worth it. Especially if the member has company and only the member gets one figure. I really hope they'll give out minifigures for each person of the member's party, but I just know it'd be too good to be true. I definitely want multiples of Pyjama Emmet! Does anyone think the AMC at the Mall of America (20 minutes away from me) is doing this? -Sci Ask them... Quote
ResIpsaLoquitur Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 So is Cloud Cuckoo Palace going to be the low-cost breakout set of the series? I'm noticing fewer of them in stores and wondering if the kids will snap it up as a cheap way of getting Emmet, Wyldestyle, and Unikitty in one set. The Target near me had one left; the Wal-Mart near me didn't have any. I'm wondering if I should get it now before it vanishes (shades of 2013's Advent Calendars!). Quote
bekindsorewind Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 As someone who owns the majority of the Movie sets, Cloud Cuckoo is one of my absolute favorites among them. I'd definitely recommend it. Quote

Well the original version of Unikitty is still a incentive. What the major issue is most of the large sets are fighting vehicles, while Cloud Cuckoo is the only mediium buiding set. Also TLC is known for including protagonists in any other licensed sets. Don't be surprised for that. Quote

jamesster Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Here's a display for the sets including a real life model of Cloud Cuckoo Land: https://twitter.com/olive_seon/status/428565947050254337/photo/1 Pretty nifty. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Oh how I wish we got an actual Cloud Cuckoo Land! Perhaps one day we will, I just don't see how. Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Middle Tennessee. Not a huge markdown yet but they are on clearance. Here in nebraska at ShopKo they had all the Movie sets 20% off. Bought MetalBeard! Quote
