Lego Spy Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Well, I just found a link to Lego's Press Guide from Toy Fair. Not a lot new to be gleaned from it, but I was surprised to see that the second Lego Movie wave isn't due out in August, but rather, two months earlier in June. I imagine this may be to tie in with the DVD release. And that's only three months away! That's great news for me, as my birthday is in July! Quote
SMC Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I still dont have any wave 1 sets as they don't seem to be going to sale they are just going Quote
meyerc13 Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 These sets are flying off the shelves. I was in Target this past weekend, and they didn't have a single LEGO Movie set in stock. The weekend before that, I was at the LEGO store and even they were almost out of sets. This reminds me of the supply issues that Friends experienced for so long... interestingly the Friends aisle was well stocked for a change. I'm glad I picked up most of the sets that I wanted, but there are still 1-2 I'd like to get but can't find now. Quote
antp Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 And when the dust bag in the hoover gets full, he opens it and goes patiently through all the dust and rubbish to see is there's something that's not supposed to be there. When a Lego parts goes in it, usually you hear it and you can get it back immediately When I was kid, my mother often searched in the bag for parts that she accidentally vacuumed Quote
ResIpsaLoquitur Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 You know, since this movie could be a serious contender for Best Animated Picture next year...Lego and WB would be smart to re-release this film in theaters next December. AND they'd be smart to either re-release the toy sets or jam out some new ones in time for Christmas. How about it, Lego? Quote

Ojik Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 When a Lego parts goes in it, usually you hear it and you can get it back immediately When I was kid, my mother often searched in the bag for parts that she accidentally vacuumed Yes, you may hear it, but it's not too practical to stop vacuuming immediately and open up a bag full of dust in the room you are just cleaning. It's not a problem anymore though. This happened back in times I put Lego all over the floor and played with it. This way I often overlooked a part while cleaning the mess and it was later vacuumed. Nowadays, I handle Lego only when building a new set, so this can't happen. Thinking about it, it's rather sad actually. I'm starting to look like The Man Upstairs, I only build sets and then display them. Maybe I should play with them sometimes, or even better, start MOCing. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Has anyone bothered to collect The LEGO Movie McDonald's plastic cups? Contrary to popular belief, they are actually pretty cool things to have. The holographic/3D features work well, and they are great on display near your sets. You could also just use them the old-fashioned way as drinking cups. Not to mention, they come with free child tickets to LEGOLAND. Unfortunately, the app the cups are compatible with is trash and won't scan them at all. The only ones I am missing are Vitruvius and Lord Business. Very early Feb I got all except MetalBeard in one trip. FINALLY got him Sunday. These are AWESOME. favorite is Unikitty. That's great news for me, as my birthday is in July! Me too! (So do you want the Spaceship too? ) Quote
ResIpsaLoquitur Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Weirdly, one of my local Wal-Marts had a TON of Ice Cream Machines in the clearance section. Asking price? ...$29.97. I hate when this particular Wal-Mart does that: they move stuff to clearance but keep the price the same. Quote
DannyRww Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I'm glad I bought my Lego Movie sets when I did in Dec.. I got a lot of looks from people (like my wife) wondering why I would by sets for a movie I haven't seen..but I told them I just knew it would be good. I bought the melting room, cloud cuckoo palace, Lord Business' Lair, and the glider for my birthday. Since the movie came out all I have seen in stores is the evil Lair (though the Lego store had some items off and on). At any rate I'm glad I made the purchases I did (and with Christmas gift cards it was easier too). Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Please may someone post a pic of Larry's Flying Coffee Cart? I'm thinking of making a MOC. Thanks! Quote
HomerJSimpson Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Please may someone post a pic of Larry's Flying Coffee Cart? I'm thinking of making a MOC. Thanks! You should ask just2good, he got pictures of Milhouse in the simpsons forum from the movie- they're not the best, but you could still make it out. Quote
CM4Sci Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 (edited) Worth a shot I suppose! Just find some gameplay of the video game, look for the part with the big battle. It's much better than the camrip J2G got it from. EDIT: and besides, there's no way you can make anything out of this. Good luck! -Sci Edited March 9, 2014 by CM4S Quote
CM4Sci Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Thanks CM4S! Wow, that's strange. No problem! -Sci Quote
HawkLord Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Are any of the sets store exclusive? Like only at Target or TRU, etc.? I'm trying to help narrow down my search, as these are really drying up in the area. Quote

Metalbeard's Sea Cow is LEGO Brand Stores. Quote
just2good Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Awesome - that helps! Thank you. No problem! I just started going to Walmart again after a few months, and I'm on the fence of the Flying Flusher. Quote
Thelegomaster Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Creative Ambush is Target. Rescue Reinforcements is Toys"R"Us. Flying Flusher is Walmart. Metalbeard's Sea Cow is LEGO Brand Stores. Thats weird, I saw flying flusher and rescue reinforcements at target...... Quote
just2good Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Thats weird, I saw flying flusher and rescue reinforcements at target...... That shouldn't happen. Sure about that? Well, unless you're not in the US. Quote
Dorayaki Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 That shouldn't happen. Sure about that? Well, unless you're not in the US. Well my local ToysRUs have all the regular sets, and the Rescue Reinforcements is not available in other chain stores. Quote
Cube1701 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 (edited) I've got Metalbeard's Duel and Cloud Cuckoo Palace so far. Lord Business' Lair should arrive tomorrow (my LEGO Store was sold out) - my Pants Guy and Bad/Scribble Cop minifigures should go well with that set. I've made a few small adjustments to Metalbeard to make it closer to the film (oddly, some of these parts are spares you get with the set, like an extra chain). I'm looking at getting the extra parts I need for his third cannon. As for upcoming sets, I'm getting Benny's Spaceship as soon as I can. If they're out in June, even better. Edited March 11, 2014 by Cube1701 Quote
PenPlays Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 (edited) Due to the immense love for Benny's big scene, I can see the SSS! flying (literally) off the shelves. Those of you who want to wait for a discount must do so with discretion! I know that I will be debating getting this set the day it comes out, merely because it will be just that popular (Cloud Cookoo Palace popular!*). *Cloud Cookoo Palace was the first to sell out at all stores in my area, even before the movie. Other TLM sets followed soon after release... Edited March 11, 2014 by Penkid11 Quote
