Right, but according to the linked source, that pack will include a DVD, along with both 2d and 3d Blu-rays (plus a digital copy - of course Blu-ray and DVD are themselves digital, but you know what I mean). AyliffeMakit was lamenting that (s)he didn't have a Blu-ray player, so "it would be pretty pointless for me to buy it." I was pointing out that since that top-of-the-line Blu-ray release also includes a DVD, AyliffeMakit could still use it; (s)he would just have a couple extra discs.

Correct, Although I may consider investing in a Blu-ray player if I find a cheap one with a VCR player also built in (Yes, I still have videos  ).

Great news, but its a shame that it's only in the most expensive edition. That and I don't have a Blu-ray player, so it would be pretty pointless for me to buy it.

Same here. :sceptic: It sounds like a fair amount of extra money for a fair amount of extra discs... I'll probably still consider getting it, but these LEGO Blu-ray promotions are frustrating.

That's pretty much the same boat I'm in, actually. I seem to have developed a tendency to acquire media for various platforms before I have the hardware to play them on - I had my first videotapes before I actually owned a VCR of my own (Ok, so I was young at the time and using my family's VCRs, but still), I got my first few laserdiscs before I got a laserdisc player, I got my first few DVDs before I got a DVD player, I got NES game cartridges before I got an actual NES, I got Super NES games before a Super NES, Mac and PC games before I got a Mac or PC, and even now I have a few Blu-rays already though I don't have a Blu-ray player myself... yet. For me, picking up the swankiest Blu-ray edition of The LEGO Movie even though I don't have a BD player yet will just be par for the course - better than that, actually, since at least that edition will also be a DVD edition, and I can at least watch those now.

Well, at least this one isn't as bad as getting different minifigures with the videogame depending upon what store you buy it at and/or what platform it's on. I know that one must have been terribly frustrating for a lot of people. I was lucky in that I was able to get the two freebies that were offered at theaters, and one of those (the Radio DJ Robot) was one of the two offered with the game from one of the vendors, but for people who don't live near that particular theater chain, they're out of luck (not to mention there just not being enough of any of these to go around for everyone who wants one to begin with).

Shoot, looks like he'll have the ordinary cape if that pic is legit and accurate to the actual released fig. In the movie he has the robe from the CMF Graduate and Judge, in the same Dark Azur with glitter of his cape from other sets.

No staff either, but at least that's easily buildable with existing parts.

Kind of looks off with the wrong cape :( I do want it as Vitruvious did not get a lot of figures in the line so far. Even Metal Beard got to figures...the only thing better would be a Benny in a set that cost less than $100

This looks great, I'm a little disappointed about the inaccurate cape and missing staff, but I guess it'll be easy to make with existing parts. I really hope this will be available in the UK too, which it should, seeing as all of the other Lego DVDs which included special edition minifigures were...

Looks pretty cool! Getting it for sure. The Graduate robe would've been nice, but hey, at least we're getting him!

After finally tracking down the Rescue Reinforcements, I recon its the best of the LEGO Movie line so far with the Flying Flusher and Ice Cream Machine being close seconds.

Of course nothing can compare to the (as yet unreleased) spaceship which is clearly going to be tied with the Ghostbusters set as "best set of 2014" for me :)

My friend Arnold has done a exelanto custom Pyjamas Emmet and another custom Emmet. If you would like to see just post yes and I will post the Video (Or link).

I may or may not get Bennys Spaceship, i hope Lucy has the arm printing and they just left it out at toy fair.

As soon as a LEGO collector starts using Briclink they immediately way in the possibility "can I buy more legos on brick link than this?"

Still a 100$ set a few exclusives, I may go with the popo set, for the Jhonny Thunder....
