The Legonater Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I don't see the issue with no open world. It's not like it's a necessity, it's only shown up a couple times. If they removed a feature like building I'd be more annoyed. Quote
ShadowWolfHount Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I think it mainly because you get to do a little more stuff to do in the game. Quote
Lyichir Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I think a more likely reason for the lack of an open world is that the world presented in The Lego Movie is vast (with oceans, deserts, etc.) and that unlike past Lego video games, everything is going to made of Lego. I can imagine that'd make modeling a complete open world for the game quite difficult. Quote
JeagerEX Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Lloyd Garmadon and the Swamp Creature are the only characters who will appear in the official LEGO video game for the first time. Quote
SandMirror38 Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 for AU residents Wild west emmet can be purchased on any platform! :D at EB Games Quote
legolegoandlego Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Like the riddler said it wont be the best lego vg Quote

Hogwarts was an obvious choice, as was Gotham, and New York city. Such a setting might not be present in the Lego Movie. Quote

Lyichir Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 You make some good points. I think people are just disappointed because it almost seems like a downgrade from the regular games. I actually just broke down and preordered it the other day. It won't feel like a downgrade for me; I haven't played any of the open-world ones and had plenty of fun with the "hub world" ones like Lego Batman. I'm sure the open-world ones are great (and I can't wait to play Lego City Undercover once I finally get a Wii U), but I think there's room for both, so as long as I can go back and play previous levels for fun and completion I'll be happy. BlueberryWaffles Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 I preordered it. Yay! This will be AWESOME! Quote

Yeah, I'm not saying I think it's a downgrade, it's just that some people might. (I just pre-ordered Bravely Default, so I don't think I'll be picking up TLM video game too soon. ) Quote
Piranha Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Does the Gamestop pre-order come with the DLC or just the promo fig? Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Does the pre-order come with those legs? They can be very useful but I hope they'll be available with all purchases and not just pre-orders. But I might pre-order it if I can't get those legs otherwise. Quote
PenPlays Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Walmart is giving out the Robo-DJ minifig for pre-orders... Sigh. I'm gonna be burning a hole in my wallet to get these minifigs... Quote

Wha...bu....GameStop......minifig.......exclusive... GAAH! Why did there have to be TWO pre-order figs? Why? BTW, Gamestop preorder only comes with Wild West Emmet. No pants DLC. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Then where will these pants become available? *sigh* All this waiting and money spending isn't turning out to be, awesome. Though it's not like the game ever really intrigued me, I just want those pants! Quote

That is probably true, but free roaming in a digitally recreated Bricksburg in the game would have been glorious. Are the pants DLC just like a skin? Or some different feature? Quote

Oky Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 The Gamestop preorder here in the US comes with Western Emmett and a movie voucher of $7.50. The Wild West DLC pack with the pants is exclusive to preorders from GAME in the UK as far as I know. The pants are skins that give you special abilities in the game, not real Lego pieces. Quote
Cult_Of_Skaro Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Urgh! Too many choices! One thing's for sure, I'm becoming a Regal member.. Quote
SandMirror38 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 In AU we only have Westen Emmet as a bonus as far as I'm concerend :( No Sleepyhead Emmet or DJ Robot which I was quite looking forward to :( Does anybody in AU know would I be able to pre-order TLM game get the emmet and then trade in the game and get some $ back? I am tempted to get this but I dont know if I would enjoy the game :/ At least I CAN get the preorder exclusive with PC Quote

SandMirror38 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 When will this be released??? I pre-ordered it the other day :D But thinking now that JB HI FI may have the DJ Robot minifig :/ Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 When will this be released??? I pre-ordered it the other day :D But thinking now that JB HI FI may have the DJ Robot minifig :/ Yeah, that is why I am holding off pre-ordering for now. I don't think JB have ever done an exclusive minifigure, but I think this is the first time there have been multiple minifigures so you never know. But they won't have the exclusive DLC, so that is a bit of a turn-off for me. Quote
