Posted July 17, 201311 yr I am not sure if anybody has similar feeling. I really do not like this cockpit piece. (not the color, although I hate the clear the most) somehow I feel this isn't LEGOish. or maybe too Childrenish(more like a 4+ piece)? is this only me?
July 17, 201311 yr I like it. I love how sleek it is, and I much prefer cockpits like this that connect to clips.
July 17, 201311 yr I think it's a very nice piece, although it has some fairly difficult angles to match. It kind of feels like a revamp of this piece (though it's in fact smaller). If you felt that piece was too "childrenish", then I suppose you'd feel the same about the new one, but otherwise I don't see how one is decidedly more specialized than the other. 2507 is bigger and has no studs, but has somewhat friendlier angles. 92579, in contrast, has less friendly angles but is smaller and has far more versatile connection points.
July 17, 201311 yr I really don't see how that's any more childish than any other cockpit pieces... Seems okay to me. Personally I'd love to have a few in trans-yellow. :)
July 17, 201311 yr Well it's all down to personal taste I guess :O) I'm not a massive fan of long cockpits, but love them in others' MOCs when it's done well. There have been a couple of times I've detested a piece, but grown to like it once I discover some cool connections!
July 17, 201311 yr I cannot say I have a real dislike for this part, but I do have to say that given a choice I much prefer the older 2507. Maybe it is because as a child I had it back in the classic space / Blactron / M-tron era and I have nice memories of it. I am sure that children of today will probably prefer the newer one for the same reasons, but really they perform a very similar if not identical role in most sets and MOCs.
July 17, 201311 yr Love it. Any thing trans in general but glad to see Lego exploring various colors.
July 17, 201311 yr Author thank you for all the reply. I think one of the reason for this cockpit. is that it mixed curve and 'straight edge'. but agree, it might be a personal thing.. I like these better: even this:
July 17, 201311 yr Funny, I hate all three of those. I like the new one, I also like the bar and clip than the click and lock style. It looks awesome on the Alien Conquest fighter, even though it doesn't fit right with a minifigure in it.

I think you hit the nail on the head there for me actually. I'm a little discriminatory towards parts that are 'mixed'! Partly because it limits their usefulness - they're very useful in specific situations but not things I generally pick up and am inspired by - but mostly they bother me because they don't quite belong in my 'slopes' box nor my 'bows' box! Silly isn't it.

I like these better {pic} {pic} even this: {pic} Wow, I never liked any of those. Especially the first one- sorry to those who consider it a classic piece. It works as a cockpit piece the best in my opinion. Also, bar > click/lock.
July 18, 201311 yr The piece is fine to me. I think it was used in some Star Wars sets like the V-wing star fighter.
