Bricknblue Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Weird set to remake. Looks nice, but looks just like the last one but twice the price. Quote
baron Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 also curious about new trans green bubble type piece?? has this been spotted anywhere before? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 also curious about new trans green bubble type piece?? has this been spotted anywhere before? Someone on flickr mentioned that it was a recolor of this piece. (Notice how there's a bar of trans green extending back through the turret towards the minifig's chest.) Quote
Delta 38 Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Hmm, the rear section looks more accurate and it seems more angular. The top cannon/gun looks strange though, it looks like there's a flick-fire thing where the cannon should be. I like it, personally. I missed out on the first one, so it's nice to see a remake of this considering the AT-AP is probably one of the more obscure vehicles from the films. Quote
HJR-Holland Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 (edited) EPIII sets, I hadn't expected that after the cancellation of EPII & EPIII in 3D really... Well, if 2014 promises EPIII sets, I say bring on the UT-AT !! Edited July 19, 2013 by HJR Quote
ISDAvenger Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 I hope it is not a concentrate of Episode III sets. TLG better throw in a few O/T sets as well, otherwise it is going to be a boring winter/spring for me. Quote
wesker Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Hopefully it won't be long before the rest of the set names are leaked. Quote
Cloney Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 While others are so negative I would like this new AT-AP as I missed the first and if the wookie(Looks like Tarfful) and the Clone (That looks like an ep.3 Gree!) I will definitely buy this set more than once! Again I don't get all the negativity, it's a vehicle from an actual episode, you guys complain about anything :| first clone wars complaints, then Yoda chronicles now a remake of an episode 3 vehicle :| what will you not complain at! LEGO goes with what its fans want This! One is enough though. Almost a definite buy for me. Quote
Csacsa234 Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Great to see another Ep III. set but not this one... There are still vehicles that wasn't made in LEGO and they just rerelease the old sets with little improvements. Although the new wookie warrior (Tarfful maybe) and gree looks awesome, however one more clone is definetely needed to drive the AT-PT. Quote
Speedboat Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 While the walker looks nice, the most interesting part about this set for me are the Wookie and Gree minifigs, those look spectacular! I don't know if I'll purchase it, but the set makes me more excited for the other 2014 releases! Quote
greeny Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 I prefer the "old style" packs versus the newer ones. You got a bigger variety of minifigures in the older packs. I agree. I just want to get four regular Clones for my army, not three specialist Clones and a Clone Commander. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Like others here I'm a bit cool to the set. It's a bit funny - I consider myelf a huge Star Wars fan, and among LEGO themes it's the one I have by far the most sets from and the one that pulled me out of my dark ages in the first place, yet there's a huge chunk of the theme I just don't have as much interest in as I do most sets from totally different themes such as Friends. Chalk it up to my mixed feelings over the prequels in general. That said, this does appear to me to be a fine rendition of a vehicle; it's just that the source material doesn't move me as much as anything from my beloved original trilogy. I hope we'll get something new from the classics, even if it is a remake (as would seem likely, given that most major candidates for LEGO set treatment from the original three movies have now been done at least once in this theme's first thirteen or fourteen years - gads, it's been a long time now, hasn't it?). But I do hope they give us at least one thing from the OT that hasn't happened before, even if it's just a single character minifigure debut (c'mon, give us Aunt Beru! ). That new Wookiee mold is what I've been wanting for a long time! This means Chewie will get a comp, tee redesign, which has been necessary for the past couple years. Huh? Quote
Phantomscream Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Not the best choice for a set, but it looks pretty good. Quite big too! Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 (EP3 Battle Packs? Speaking on battlepacks, I also was confirmed that the new 2014 Winter Battlepacks will be going back to the "old style" where for example one set would just have droids and the other just clones) This is all confirmed and legit information. -David Are those faction choices (clones and droids) chosen purely for example, by the way, or are they actually talking about doing them (that is, more clones and droids battlepacks for next year)? I was hoping we'd get more OT battlepacks (isn't it the OT's "turn" in 2014, going from the established pattern alternating between the OT and everything earlier, or am I miscounting)? Quote
kermit Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Now why couldnt this new wookie mold be used for chewee in the ewok village. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Now why couldnt this new wookie mold be used for chewee in the ewok village. Because Chewie wasn't wearing shoulder armor in the Ewok village? (As I've noted before, I'm perfectly happy with the classic Chewbacca head / body mold. I think if they were going to update the figure, the only two things they could do that might be genuine improvements would be a) using a more detailed paint/print on that piece, and b) using a torso and hips/legs with the longer limbs created for certain Toy Story characters.) Im a brickmaster. Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Im pretty sure were about to see the best EP III sets made yet. Sadly missed the first AT-AP and this one looks like it kicks the previous sets butt! Cant wait for more! Quote

Blondie-Wan Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 My opinion best battle packs in terms of building your armies for a battle they made: I'd say it's this one: It's not just a great army builder; it actually debuted a whole entire troop type that hadn't been represented in the LEGO Star Wars theme at all up to that point, despite coming from the first film and released at a time when the theme had been around for nearly a decade, and it gave us four of these long-overdue "standard" Rebel troopers. It also was perfect for army building - all four minifigures were "generic" troops rather than specific, named characters, and thus had no figures "going to waste" if one bought multiples. And even the rest of the set was great - the craft is remarkably substantial and solid; one got a lot for one's money with this set, more than with some unlicensed sets at the same price point. What a great battlepack. Quote
homemade sciencefiction Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 (edited) it looks ok scie I don"t like Lego star wars(I like Lego space) I won't be buying this Edited July 19, 2013 by homemade sciencefiction Quote
nrg Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Accroding to this it will be released in March , but why ? Over 700 pieces ? isn't too much for this walker ? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Okay, remember, this thread is for discussion of rumors and pictures, and ones that have sources. Discussion of the sets you want to see, the sets you think we'll see, the minifigs you want to see -- that all belongs in either Future Star Wars Sets or Most Wanted Star Wars Characters. (In the case of the battle packs, you're free to discuss the format of the BPs here, because that is rumored to change, but specific battle packs that you hope to see, that would belong in Future Star Wars Sets.) I'll move some posts. Accroding to this it will be released in March , but why ? I find it odd, too, but it isn't unusual for TLG to release sets at that time. I guess they were okay with revealing a set for March more than six months in advance, knowing that since this is a licensed set, they could force any clone brands who managed to copy it to stop on those grounds, if any clone brands were able to do that with more than six months to work with. Fives Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Just realized Tarfuul is holding a pirate rifle. Actually makes a lot of sense. Quote
Darth Nader Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 (edited) My opinion best battle packs in terms of building your armies for a battle they made: [snip] I agree with you, the clone battle pack had some amazing phase 2 clones. It's a shame how it goes on bricklink for around $20 though, that is a little too much for a set with 58 pieces. And even though the other battle pack was with battle droids, it came with 7 of them, which was really awesome. After that, the rest of the battle packs for the separatist weren't very good, they were just their because they somewhat had to. I own the original '08 AT-AP, and this one is only a little taller with some nice detail. Sounds great, just not worth $70. I also think that if they were going to make a $70 walker, they should have at least included more than two minifigures on the side of the republic. Edited July 19, 2013 by Darth Nader Quote
