TheLegoDr Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I'm glad and disappointed in the DS BP. I would love to have had some stormtroopers or other guards of some sort. Maybe 1 of each to round out the 4, just to add some variety. I will definitely pick ONE up, but there won't be much need to buy multiples of this "battle pack." I thought the whole point was to build up armies and stage battles. Maybe I'm wrong there. But I like getting some Royal Guards since I don't own any. The rest of the sets are pretty meh to me so far. I'll have to wait and see how the final product ends up. I guess I can hope I continue to not like them to save up money for other themes. I was thinking of cutting SW to make room anyway, but it looks like LEGO made the choice for me. Huzzah! Quote
montgocloud Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 And a few people have mentioned wanting a new Bespin sometime. I suddenly got an image in my head of a Bespin done in the stule of the current Death Star. How awesome would that be if it cost $400? Carbonite freezing chamber; room where threepio gets attacked; ugnaught workshop; dinner with Darth & Boba; Luke & Darth lightsaber duel; Han torture chamber etc etc. I'd hate to go too off topic but the likelihood of that happening in 2014 is pretty low as there is already one new huge minifigure playset out, the Ewok Village, and I doubt LEGO would compete with their own products like that. There might be a chance for an $120 set though! Quote

Kitfistonator Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 (edited) All of the sets look pretty nice especially for a Winter wave. I believe the most sought after set will certainly be the Kashyyyk troopers battle pack as it will be a tremendous army builder. I'm overall pretty pleased with this wave. eric729 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Anyone else think that the thing the new blaster shoots is a blue stud? Quote
North Lego Star Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Anyone else think that the thing the new blaster shoots is a blue stud? Ya, I'm pretty sure that's what they shoot too. Regular Blasters are much better than this, I mean regular star wars action figures don't even carry around oversized blasters. Quote
The Executive Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Ya, I'm pretty sure that's what they shoot too. Regular Blasters are much better than this, I mean regular star wars action figures don't even carry around oversized blasters. My only concern is the blasters won't fire too well like some of the flick fire missiles. Do kids really care about flick fire missiles? I thought it was building toy not an action figure, but I guess I'm getting old. I was happy with just the building aspect when I was a kid with the first wave of star wars sets back in 1999. Quote
Sid Sidious Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Seeing these pictures and rewatching the OT recently both made me realize that the imperial guards are some of the coolest looking characters in the SW universe. I think their battle pack will be the first SW set I buy in years. Quote
Honorable Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 From seeing the pictures the BPs stand out the most for me from the entire wave. Finally an imperial gunner! This minifigure has been on my wish list for years. However I will say that the minifigure selection for the DS BP is strange, it could have very well with some stormtroopers in place of the guards, but then again these pictures are preliminary. Also the Salucami set doesn't look like a BP, and it's not even listed as one. I'm thinking it will be something like the BARC Speeder with sidecar set we got this year. Quote
Spider-Man Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 I don't know if it has been said yet, but how is that General Grevious new? It looks exactly like the one that has been used in Clone Wars sets to me Quote
Hulk_Smash Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 It's a prelim pic, they use already released figs when they are making a new one. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 I don't know if it has been said yet, but how is that General Grevious new? It looks exactly like the one that has been used in Clone Wars sets to me The final figs are in the minifig line up things. Greviois in that looks to be the same mould but white. Quote
Faefrost Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 I don't know if it has been said yet, but how is that General Grevious new? It looks exactly like the one that has been used in Clone Wars sets to me It will probably be the same molds from the CW sets, but a new PT type face printing. The face will probably be less cartoony. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 All it takes is a new print to be considered new. They could add a slightly different color somewhere and call it new. Since I didn't get the last Grievous, this one will be a guaranteed purchase Quote
Spider-Man Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 It will probably be the same molds from the CW sets, but a new PT type face printing. The face will probably be less cartoony. If that's the case then I am definitely excited! Less cartoony is definitely a start, and if it is molded in a lighter color I would just be ecstatic! Quote
halomaster96 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Is there any info on the Utapau BP? Cause I'm hoping it has Cody and a couple of 212th troops. That will hold me over until we get a 501st BP. Quote

jrad26 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 (edited) Who reckons there is going to be a new DARTH vader?? Edited August 17, 2013 by jrad26 Quote
jrad26 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Either the Vulture Droid or the Droid Tri-Fighter will include an Ep.3 Palpatine hey DARTH TATER please my brother are you still there, what is the deal with the 4 missing sets????? Quote
Csacsa234 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 All it takes is a new print to be considered new. They could add a slightly different color somewhere and call it new. Since I didn't get the last Grievous, this one will be a guaranteed purchase I'll definetely get it as well, he is my favourite character from the PT and I was really expecting a new wheel bike, also the CW Grievous looked too cartoony and the old EP. III. Grievous was kinda lame. Also it's the best set from winter wave IMO, but I really like the DS and Kashyyyk Bps and the Droid Gunship. Quote
Tariq j Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 (edited) Who reckons there is going to be a new DARTH vader?? Well it really depends, the only reason why new versions of figures are released are because they need to be upgraded, for example greivous needed a major change from is preivous ROTS version, Vader on the other hand dosen't need a major change. Edited August 17, 2013 by Tariq j Quote
Delta 38 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Hmm. The Saleucami set is essentially a battle pack. I did expect a little more but oh well, I guess that fills up the usual bad guy slot. I know the pictures are preliminary, but it looks like the BARC Trooper reuses the Phase II helmet instead of getting a new mould. Clever. Quote

Mr. Elijah Timms Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Death Star Battle Pack would have been perfect with: 1 DS Gunner (really excited to finally see them pursue this), 1 DS Officer with the black helmet (same as in 9492), 1 Imperial Scanning Officer, and 1 Stormtrooper. Or even cut the scanner and give us another Imperial Officer in grey with the kepi. Still, this is a must-buy for me-- but only one. As an OT collector, I'm skipping the rest of the wave. Good luck next year TLG-- maybe then you'll give us the Bantha we all want! Quote
Mr Spielbrick Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 What, no love for the new Chewbacca? Or am I mistaken and is that a different Wookiee? Quote
