The Royal Guards are just not well suited for Minifigures. You always see them in a very specific pose that you cannot duplicate with minifigures at all. They don't guard while holding these things like swords. I'd say you could probably duplicate the pose easier with a lance pointed upwards and shorter. Yeah that extra handle bit wouldn't make sense but the pose would be closer :P.

I don't think that the hand-guard would look too out of place if the sword is placed in a black lightsaber handle - in fact this is probably the best solution.

Not quite. That hand-guard spoils the fun pretty badly:

I tried it also with different intermediate pieces between the hilt and the rapier like holed 1x1 round pieces, no way to smooth the passage from the handle-guard to the hilt

Try rotating the minifigure's hand upside-down and then having them hold the spear, I think you'll find the results satisfactory.

It isn't actually that bad with the 1x1 holed stud, I didn't know that you could also "push" harder inside the hole with the LDD. There's still some space between the hand-guard and the hilt, but I prefer this to Lego light-saber solution. Judge it for yourself:

One Dutch site has the AT-AP listed in pre-order as 74.99€, and as they usually apply a high margin, I guess the official Lego price for it would be 69.99 $/€. As for the gunship no info as of yet, just rumors.

As for your other question, probably marketing reasons, introduce new things progressively, see how they fare instead of making radical changes...

In regards to the Royal Guard weapon, if you don't mind the lack of a black handle and the short handle sticking off to the side for the hand to grip, the best solution I've seen is a dark bley harpoon gun, with the hand 'upside down', the arm pointing straight down, and the gun held 'backwards'.

That is hats off the best solution accuracy-wise, I didn't even know that piece existed... Here's dark grey, dark bluish grey is not made anymore

I just bought the Grievous Wheel Bike set in a Dreamland toy store in Belgium. The whole new line was available. I payed €27,99 for it.

The box is very glossy, my girlfriend even said they looked brand new off the truck. I have yet to build the set, so I'll edit this with my impressions later :).

If you look at the guns from the movie on Grievous' wheel bike , the old cannon pieces would have fit the look better.

I am quite astonished that TLG shows such a disdain for SW line to not even make an official announcement of the Winter wave before shipping the line to retailers. I am very dissapointed at how little attention was dedicated to this line, and three The Lego Movie(s) couldn't justify it. Lousy, sloppy job TLG, for one of your three best-selling lines.

Why is it, that a set similar like sets as 75015 Jango Fett and 75003 A-wing fighter is more expensive, has less minifigs and probably the same (if less) brickamount.

Maybe they will surprise us by releasing all the sets in February!

Seeing the animated advertising isn't going to make me want a set any more or less. That seems to be geared more towards the younger fans. The only time I see the actual advertisements is when I'm in toy stores or when I come across them on the LEGO website.

Forgive me if this has been answered before but does anyone know what price the mircofighters will selling at in the Canada or the USA? I wonder if the turbo tank will be a good way to buy a large number of plain clone troopers.

The Microfighters Turbo Tank will definitely put more plain Phase II clone out on the streets but I'm not sure if it'll help drive prices down. The price for set would have to be $4.99, which I find extremely doubtful.

No, my bad, the use of a word "ad" to designate the general absence of any marketing on SW line was unfortunate. Ofc I didn't mean the kids' animations, what I meant is just an official presentation of the line, backed with HD pics, descriptions (yep, I actually read those silly things ) The kind of attention The Lego (bloody) Movie is grabbing all over the net lately
