TeufelHund Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I'll be getting the Cantina for the Dewback alone. It looks like it will include a new landspeeder which is a waste of parts for me as I have the last one which I quite like (I might up selling that set though if this is demonstrably better). I have the last AT-AT and Star Destroyer, both of which I think do a pretty good job as is (although the Star Destroyer in particular is a bugger to build and stabilise), so I'm not sure if they'll be worth a purchase for a handful of new mini-figs. Nothing else really interests me but I'll check out the Rebels stuff. A new Snow Speeder is rather crazy as there was one released in Battle of Hoth this year. Now I'd just like a system-scale Imperial Shuttle released and I'll over just about all the OT stuff I could want. Quote
Aethersprite Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Hmm. That's strange. Here you go: ISD AT-AT Cantina I noticed in the Cantina, the big ugly looking part with a door, there's some hinges on the side. Maybe some sort of plastic roof? I'm sure it'll look fine when final pics come out. -Sci Thanks, these links work fine! I don't own earlier versions of these sets so I'm really looking forward to them. As for the Cantina, might we see add-on sets next year, similar to how Jabba's Palace works? Quote
Nobrux Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 The AT-AT shown at the preliminary picture is almost identical as the last one. The legs seem to have the same external structure, the same happening with the body. And also the same height. That's very very strange. That model does not have 1138 pieces at all. Hopefully, it's just a preliminary picture of the set in a very initial design. Quote
khatmorg Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) I hope whoever leaked these took pictures of the non-rehashed stuff as well. The visible parts of the Ghost set look interesting at least, although it looks a lot smaller than it should be judging by the box. Edited January 2, 2014 by khatmorg Quote
Knightsword Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Thank you, you just made the lightbulb go off for me regarding what the Phantom is. The Phantom is a hero ship. It is a mini fighter that is carried by the Ghost. Chances are the Phantom model will be designed to attach to the Ghost. It is a sort of wedge shaped fighter that slides into the upper rear of the ghost just above the main engines. It is white or light grey with yellow markings in the concept art. http://www.therpf.co...3509d1375053660 The upper right picture in that link shows the Phantom docked in its bay. Or it's this Phantom (Which I hope it is with a female Chiss agent and a couple companions) http://images.wikia....02_1600x900.jpg Quote
Artanis I Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Do we know what the Squidwards are placingholding for? Probably these: Quote
BrickG Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 If only minifigure arms had the reticulation for that. Quote
jasbury Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) The AT-AT will probably be a bigger redesigned than the prelims are showing. The piece count is quite a bit higher than the previous version, and the spring-loaded shooters aren't connected to any firing mechanism; only clips. Makes it look like they're only placeholders. The fabric around the snow troopers' legs is a great improvement! The Cantina is so far my favorite of the wave! It would be great to have Ponda Baba as he's pretty iconic to the scene, but I'd be happy with two Bith musicians. I'd also be surprised if Greedo wasn't included in the set. I'll reserve my judgment for the remaining sets until we get some more pictures. The snow speeder could be really cool if it gets an upgrade with some more movie-accurate angles. Snowspeeder Pilot Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I hope that this new Snowspeeder brings a new Wedge Antilles and his gunner Wes Janson. Please LEGO :) Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Now I'm really hoping for the bartender and Ponda Baba in the Cantina. As do I. How could Lego possibly put out a proper Cantina set without Wuher, or Ponda Baba - one of the most iconic characters from that scene?! Quote
BEAVeR Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Actually, I quite like what I'm seeing with the Cantina. It's great we get a moisture-harvesting aain. That's about ten years ago! And now a good looking version peeks above the Cantina roof. Quote
LEGOMAN132 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 The new sets sound great. I must say I like the flick fire missiles more then these new missiles they made but I bet kids will love them. Quote
legos486 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Things I noticed: on the new atat one snow trooper has diffrent colored hips:since were getting a new darth vader could be a diffrent black such as dark metallic :the new storm trooper in the ISD seems to have a better helmet: in the cantina it only lists two figures as new when there's at least 4 new ones in there not including luke and han since the stormtrooper has a new pauldron I think:Since its the summer wave I would expect more figures in big sets like these and high priced espically since these are OT sets Quote
Something_Awesome Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Anyone thinking about getting the Droid Escape set now (set 9490)? I never considered getting it, but I plan to do a Mos Eisley MOC featuring the new Cantina, and it'd be nice to have a spare R2 D2 and C3PO to feature. Also, the amazing sand troopers don't hurt! Thoughts? One trooper on a dewback isn't enough imo. Quote
henning1010 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 The list sounds really great! As I am mostly into OT this will be so much fun (and yes, expensive). I will only comment those Snowspeeder: I don't think that it will be very different to the last one. It matches the AT-AT, so it makes sense to release them together. Furthermore we just know have a rehash of the JSF only in different color B-Wing: Fantastic! To be honest, we should have known that this would come after X-, Y- and A-Wing in the last three years Mos Eisley Cantina: From my point of view the prelim is not that far away from the set we got in 2004; that's fine with me. Really looking forward to Greedo and the new Dewback. AT-AT: Great! But I would not rely on the prelim as it is just a slightly changed copy of 8129; I am sure it will be different. Please remeber the differences between the prelims and the final models for this current winter waves ISD: The same goes for the ISD; the prelim is more or less the same as 6211 only with closed gaps on the side Quote
Ki-Adi-Mundi Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Well, that's good news! As my signature indicates, it's even great news, actually! Time was highly overdue to release a new cantina and the ISD! I am pretty happy with this upcoming wave and look forward to get everything OT of it. We have to wait for official confirmation of the final sets (composition and appearance) but it all looks very promising! I also hope that Cloud City will find it's way into the making, being one of the yet unnamed (exclusive) sets... Quote
MstrOfPppts Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Nice find with the images! I'm so glad we're finally getting an Ithorian! Shame it's in a Jek 14 set which comes even after the CW ... but still we get one. :) Quote
Faefrost Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 That watermarked image of the cantina, is not the final one of course......since when did Squidward from Sponge Bob join Star Wars ? Look carefully at the top left side of that image.....it's Squidward's head ! The oceans may dry. The fish may flee. Empires and republics will come and go, but a squid and a sponge still need a job. So they work the crusty cantina. You'll never find a greater hive of scum and villainy. Especially if you fail to tip! Quote
pranas Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Soooo happy we're finally getting a cantina! I'm for sure getting that one! I'm wondering just how many figures we're actually getting with it. So we know for sure we're getting Luke, Han, Greedo (yay!), a Sandtrooper, and I think it's safe to assume that the two 'Squidwards' will be cantina band members. I'm just wondering if there are any more figures out of frame of the leaked image we got, behind the back half of Luke's speeder? I'm going to guess that we'll get at least one more figure, and hopefully it'll be an alien. It's pretty weird that LEGO would finally give us an Ithoian figure but put it in a Yoda Chronicles set, and NOT the cantina, right? And we all know how when LEGO makes a unique new mold they love to put it in as many sets as possible to get their moneys worth on making a new part. So my gut tells me we'll see Hammerhead in the cantina. And I'm going to cross my fingers and hope we're getting at least one more fig in this set, giving us eight figs total. I mean, we'll probably not get another cantina set for a long, long while, if ever again, so I really hope LEGO makes it count and throws in as many obscure alien figs as possible. I guess the only way to know for sure is to wait until Toy Fair next month. Quote
Robianco Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I hope that this new Snowspeeder brings a new Wedge Antilles and his gunner Wes Janson. Please LEGO :) That's exactly my thoughts. We already have Luke and Dak from the last 2 waves in snow speeder pilot form. Quote

TheBear Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 There's also one in the Micro Fighter. I'm talking about the light grey uniform with a dark hat, as in http://www.theforce..../execpits01.jpg I doubt it's interesting to most people but it is one of the only original trilogy imperials that has never been done before in lego as far as I can tell. As well as being good for star destroyer bridges they can also be used as technicians for the Millenium Falcon scanning crew. Quote
Robianco Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) As much as Momaw Nadon (Hammerhead) is famous in the cantina scene I would say that Ponda Baba would be a better choice. Having a mould for an Ithorian head does indicate that we may get him in an OT set at some point. I'm not 100% convinced Greedo is there as we already have a Rodian head for several characters and that could easily have been used as a placeholder. Maybe the 2 new characters are Figrin D'an and Ponda Baba. That being said... now I've looked at it again the figure has an orange 'waistcoat' rather than an orange jacket... and they've used an Old Republic trooper torso on the Sandtrooper for some reason so I don't think we can look too much into the placeholders for those! If they have the graphic of the Ithorian on the next set there's no real reason just to put a grey placeholder on the cantina one if that is indeed the figure they were putting in. I agree... it's nice that there will now be an almost complete range of Imperials although I'm not totally convinced by the sudden need to print headsets on the new heads! Darthluke824 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Considering half of the photo of the Cantina is cut off the other half could easily have Ponda Baba and a Bartender with bar and even a GNK Droid! I do agree the AT-AT looks exactly the same as my 2011 one. I am excited about the Star Destroyer though! Quote
