February 19, 201411 yr The Ghost and Phantom combo is really growing on me...! Definitely getting these two and the AT-AT!!!
February 20, 201411 yr I don't hate the new snowtroopers, I loth them . Why mess with a fig from 1999 that looks perfectly fine!? This isn't adding obscene amounts of OTT printing or a cloth karma, it's remaking a helmet that didn't need remaking and has server accurately for so many years. I can live with new Imperial officers hats, I'll probably refit all my existing officers with them, but the snowtroopers new helmet was a colossal waste of money on a new mould. I don't think its a waste. The old mold was kind of limited in use because of the backpack. It could only be used for regular Snowtroopers. This new one gives use more options like Snowtrooper Commanders and Galactic Marines. Besides the old mold is still being used in the Advent Calender. So did Ben and Vader. The cheekbones are actually an improvement on them. Their old faces look a little plain in comparison. The new Luke head is pretty terrible, but you got to admit that it does kind of look like Mark Hamill! The neutral face on the boxart definitely looks a lot like Hamill. I've grown to like the change. Its the happy face I'm not keen on. The massive grin ruins it. I didn't like it on last year's Padme either.
February 20, 201411 yr Super excited for quite. Lot of the new sets but I am definitely getting the star destroyer and AT-AT. I love snow speeders but I'm not too sure about the newest one, I don't really like to duplicate sets but the mini figs look fantastic...
February 20, 201411 yr I keep seeing a lot of griping about the new Snowspeeder, but isn't this the first one at system/minifig scale that seats two in the cockpit?
February 20, 201411 yr I keep seeing a lot of griping about the new Snowspeeder, but isn't this the first one at system/minifig scale that seats two in the cockpit? No, they usually can seat two. This one is better than the previous ones, though, in that they finally stopped using the 3x12 plates on the wings and used the much more accurate 2x3/3x6 plates instead. Still far from perfect; they need to stop using that Y-wing cockpit piece for X-wings and T-47s. (And in the case of the T-47, there's already the 1x3x4 windscreen piece that's the right shape.)

Hello Brickdoctor, The part you mentioned (1x3x4 windscreen), do you know the part number? Thanks in advance.
February 20, 201411 yr Hello Brickdoctor, The part you mentioned (1x3x4 windscreen), do you know the part number? Thanks in advance. 57783. It's pretty much the standard piece for T-47 MOC canopies right now. (compare to some nice recent shots of the studio model here)
February 20, 201411 yr I hope we get some more tuskens, they are long overdue, perhaps some tattered rag as well...
February 20, 201411 yr Any info from toy fair about the sandcrawler? I think someone said that it was going to be a playset, and that it would be revealed in March.

Yes that is so bothering, we get all these snowspeeders and the windows are always the inaccurate old ones while the rest of the speeder is great. My concern with the new snowspeeser is the harpoon gun. The 2013 version was perfect and now they update the details on the wings but they use a not fittin piece for the harpoon. This way this vehicle will always have a "balance" between design flaws and design improvements and will never be truly accurate. Edited February 20, 201411 yr by Csacsa234
February 20, 201411 yr What would make the monetary plunge required on the Sandcrawler easy for me is if there was a Bantha and tuskens included :) But nrg's mentioning of it being a play set already has me excited regardless. It seems it will be more than just the vehicle - the question is: what more is included?
February 20, 201411 yr Any idea what the Jedi Scout Fighter is based on? Or is it just a ship that Lego made up? I mean, Jek-14's Stealth Starfighter was based on the E-wing, is this one based on any official SW ship?
February 20, 201411 yr Here you can see an Ezra's strange lighsaber (or some blaster stuff attached to a regular lightsaber), but there is no lighsabers in the 75048 Phantom set. What do you think, will there be a new lightsaber hilt or not?

It seems it will be more than just the vehicle - the question is: what more is included? I heard a rumor that would be 250-300 dollars. As a play set at that price point I would expect a bantha, couple tuskens, droids, and like 4 jawas.
February 20, 201411 yr Looks like every minifig of the summer wave is either new or redesigned. Every minifig... except Han. Edited February 20, 201411 yr by eric729

What do you think, will there be a new lightsaber hilt or not? I think the reason there is no lightsaber in the set is because we won't see him with one for a little while, but that's just speculation on my part. Because they gave Ventress a new mold back in '08, I think it's likely that Ezra will get one as well. Looks like every minifig of the summer wave is either new or redesigned. Every minifig... except Han. Well they did just give him a completely new redesign in the Falcon Microfighter, so I think it's fair that they didn't give him another in the Cantina. February 20, 201411 yr I love the idea of the Sandcrawler being a playset rather than just a big, detailed vehicle. I think Lego may be making more of a push for these UCS-style sets to be more interactive. At the local Lego store, the Ewok Village seems to be selling better than the UCS X-Wing - or at least the stock ratio seems to indicate that. If the sandcrawler was just a larger vehicle, I would pass, as a playset with extra goodies that will probably not be released on their own again, I'm definitely in.
February 20, 201411 yr If they just did a standard UCS vehicle everyone would be disappointed since it would get compared to Marshall Banana's, especially since his got a lot of exposure on Cuusoo. His is huge with over 10,000 parts and realistically they could only make an official one about a quarter of the size of that. By making it a playset it becomes more interesting and there are plenty of options on what they could add. Jawas and droids obviously, Lars homestead with Lars and Beru figures, Tusken Raiders and bantha. They could even motorize it but I hope they don't do that since it will eat up a lot of the budget that could be used on better things.
February 20, 201411 yr Perhaps the Sandcrawler will include parts of the Lars homestead as well. That would make me extremely excited!!
February 20, 201411 yr Perhaps the Sandcrawler will include parts of the Lars homestead as well. That would make me extremely excited!! That never even crossed my mind, but for sure that would be a delight! I'm hoping that we get both Owen and Beru, along with a pitcher of blue milk!
February 20, 201411 yr I hope the Sandcrawler will be an uptaded 10144 with a lot of minifigs and Lars homestead. That would be great.
February 20, 201411 yr I think it's pretty likely that that is what we'll see; it just makes a lot of sense to me. Lego will want to include minifigures other than Jawas and droids, so I'd say we'll probably get Luke, Owen, and Beru (maybe even a few Tusken Raiders if Lego is feeling extra generous). And for a $300 set, Lego could definitely throw in the iconic domed structure from the homestead with a small interior play area. It's probably our best chance at getting anything from the Lars homestead (as well as the Beru minifig), since it wouldn't be an obvious choice as a standalone set.
