That was me. I'm sure there will be a decent number of bricks in the build, but if you look at the old Sandcrawler, it was almost entirely bricks, with very little greebling other than a few modified 1x2 bricks and some headlight bricks. That Sandcrawler looks much closer to the old style blocky sets like the original Slave 1 or the Twin Pod Cloud Car rather than the sleeker stuff that would hit a few years later.

I'm sure that Lego would take advantage of various SNOT and plate techniques in a newer model, which will inevitably bump the part count up even if it doesn't change the size of the model.

I completely agree with you about the blocky style of the old Sandcrawler. It will be cool to see how TLG makes a new one with all of the new build techinques developed over the last 10 years.

And since it won't be UCS I'm curious to see what the other 2014 UCS set will be.

Good find nrg! Thanks for the link! Minifigs are indeed wonderful, save for the Imperial Guard who reminds me somewhat of that game "find the intruder". It is just impossible that it looks so much like cheap Chinese plastic in the midst of such gorgeous minifig line-up *huh* Worst of all, I'll be paying for them, for the irony of the fate is that it shares a box with a flawless masterpiece that is the Death Star gunner. Good Lord, do that minifigure rock!

As for the rest, Airborne trooper and that Neimodian fellow stand out IMO, I am not at all sold on Wookies, in fact, I prefered the old ones.

I am very much looking forward to the set reviews now! :classic:

Maybe this is an "out of topic" question, but do anyone know when hear something about the Lego Star Wars summer sets 2014?

Judging by the past few years, later this month. :classic:

I've started to wonder, how accurate are these "flick(click?)-fire" new blasters going to be? They look like the won't have much with the way they're designed. :sceptic:

However dont forget that it is very likely that the microsets will have a unique version of their minifigure (i.e. it will be slightly different from the same character in another set). Most of the planets series did.

That unique minifig will be enough for me to purchase the set but it won't be enough for me to buy multiple sets and army build.

Hothbricks have some new pictures of the new wave, first published by the Dutch Intertoys. Here is a direct link to their flickr gallery:

http://www.flickr.co...tos/hothbricks/

Now folks, for those of you suggesting few pages ago that I wanted some silly ads for the new wave - THIS is an official presentation of the line-up, marketing ABC. Good job TLG, outsourcing that to a renowned marketing agency Intertoys... As a next step, and ofc due to the pending The Lego Movie release and resultant engagement of all available in-house resources, I half expect to see part of brick production outsourced to Krafts food Inc. :sarcasm_hmpf:

Ain't I full of understanding... :hmpf_bad:

But that said, wow, I really like the new Vulture droid and the BP canon  Excellent job on the gunship as well, though I'll probably pass on it.

Edit: Sorry, credits to CM4S, I didn't realize that his link was to Intertoys. But, I'll leave the link to Hothbricks for the ease of browsing in flickr.

Nice pics, however high resolution won't change my mind about these sets. It just makes me want the vulture droid even more, and resist the (awkward looking) Anti-Vehicle Cannon even more. But thanks anyways to CM4S and SpyderLord for the pics!

Umm, didn't NRG already post that?

Oh no! CM4S, you're late!

Gah, sorry! Didn't see that. I'm not being my usual LEGO-news-reporter self lately.

Most of the new battlepacks have shown up in Norwegian online store Lekekassen.no, and much to my surprise the price is lower than the previous line of bp's.

Now NOK 129,-, before they were NOK 149,-

An extra 16% discount too, not too shabby.

Anyone else seen norwegian prices being 129 (in shop or online) confirming bp price drop, or is it just this shop that's got MSRP wrong?
