Kitfistonator Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 His head is made of a hard plastic. Is it really?! That's fantastic to hear! Does this mean perhaps other figures might receive a hard plastic head like Kit Fisto? Quote
wesker Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 His head is made of a hard plastic. I don't think so. His breathing mask is still flexable and the reviewer mentions its not the same ABS plastic as Admiral Ackbar. All I gathered is that his head now uses the sturdier rubbery plastic that Lego uses for most specialized headpieces these days, rather than the old soft eraser-type rubber where the printing scratched off easily. DebkoX Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 m going to get some of those mini sets Quote

michaelozzie Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 In my opinion the 75036 Utapau Troopers set seems to be an extremely low quality set, not just the crummy spider droid but also the clones don't look even remotely as good as the others in this wave. The spider droid is nothing special but I disagree about the minifigs. I have bought 2 of these BPs and find the figures great especially the airbourne figs. Quote
donbarca Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 i find the airbourne figs to be super cool too! Quote
Flieger Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Same here! What is the problem Fordo? They even gave the legs of the Airborne Troopers asymetrical printing to match the arms. This is rather detailed imo. I'd would question the rationale to create a new mold for this helmet, since the Airbornes don't have much screentime. And with the demise of the Clone Wars, they won't get any more. Quote
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 I'd would question the rationale to create a new mold for this helmet, since the Airbornes don't have much screentime. Using this reasoning, LEGO shouldn't have made a mold for a bunch of minifigs. There are quite a few minifigs from the Star Wars universe of characters that didn't receive much screen time. Quick example, the different Jedi from the PT, Clone Pilots, Death Star Troopers, etc... Personally, I will do a substantial amount of army building with the upcoming BPs. Quote
eric729 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Yeah, I agree. March seems like an odd date. LEGO usually likes to release them in May and have the May the Fourth promotion to increase sales. Quote
Flieger Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 There are quite a few minifigs from the Star Wars universe of characters that didn't receive much screen time. Quick example, the different Jedi from the PT, Clone Pilots, Death Star Troopers, etc... I daresay all of them have a lot more screentime than the blick-and-you-miss-them Airborne Troopers in one movie - especially the Death Star Troopers (Navy Trooper actually...) which could be seen quite a lot all the OT-movies, be it in firefights on the Death Star and Endor, guarding some room (they form Tarkin's guard e.g.), or carrying away an officer Vader choked to to death. And the Clone Pilots were featured heavily in the Clone Wars, just think about the Malevolence attack, unless you refer to the newer incarnations. So, I agree with you that the Airborne Troopers are there for the clone loving army builders, which make up a large part of the Lego Star Wars fans - sadly, imho, since I would prefer characters like Bail Organa or Mas Amedda. But they are not "action-y" enough. I perfectly understand that reasoning, I'd probably do the same if I ran Lego, but I still don't like it. Quote
Flieger Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) On another matter: I criticized that the Police Gunship did not include Policemen. I just rewatched the episode with this ship and it apparently was manned by Shock Troopers. Thus it is just screen accurate to include them. And, also, it does look very good in Lego, after watching the CGI version. Edited December 31, 2013 by Flieger Quote
Just The Doctor Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Whilst on the subject of the Coruscant Police Gunship, I have just looked on lego.com and it is on there priced at £44.99, to me that seems a bit overpriced, so I hope that other retailers have it cheaper. However, other sets like the Battle on Saleucami are priced lower than I expected, that set costs £14.99 which is 5 quid cheaper than I expected - at least I'm not gonna be spending as much, but I did expect the Gunship to be around 4 - 5 quid cheaper. It's an exclusive/hard to find whatever they call it. I don't know what that means in UK, but in Australia that means you can't get it anywhere but 1 specific retailer, and the price seems higher than it should be. Quote
Robianco Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 May release date for the Sandcrawler would indeed make more sense... I was more interested in the fact that the prelims in circulation to staff. At least it means being able to pick up a single item to get the £50 spend exclusive figure at the same time. Picking up larger items is also good as I can buy them as an 'office decoration' through my business. Quote
Just The Doctor Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Thanks for the info Artanis I, I didn't expect such a good set to be an exclusive, i'll probably have to get it online now Quote
eric729 Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Today I went to my local LEGO store (I live in the US). The employee told me that to winter wave is coming in February. Quote
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 *snip* First of all, if you add the screen-time of each that I mentioned, it can't be too much more than a handful of minutes per given character/type. I have better things to do than calculate the actual screen-time. When I mentioned the clone pilots, I was referring to appearance in the movie. I'm full aware of all of the clone pilots that are featured from CW. My kids and I are big fans, regardless of how the show ended. There's a distinction between the movie and CW sets. To name a few characters that required a new mold with little screen-time from the PT that have been immortalized by LEGO: AT-AT driver, Bossk, Greedo, Max Rebo. Personally I don't think any of us should be questioning LEGO's "rationale to create a new mold". Quote
