Flieger Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 We also have never gotten a imperial officer in black uniform. Huh? The actual micro-fighter wave includes one. Quote

TheBear Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 We also have never gotten a imperial officer in black uniform. Technically the ones without a rank badge are officers but if you mean a ranked officer like Lt Tanbris then you are correct. Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Huh, I am really liking all this sets! Im okay with a new snow speeder. I still after all these years don't have a Rebal snow speeder! All the other Stealth star fighter esque sets really interest me and I eagerly await more pics. Quote

Seaber Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I think the Ion Cannon (using the Death Star Planet Set Mold) and the shield generator will be included in the Snowspeeder set and AT-AT sets respectively, based on the prices. These OT sets came right off my wish list, and more than make up for just the one OT set in the current wave. I like the sound of the RA-7 and Ithorian in the JEK set too. Quote
legos486 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I wonder what lego will do since its the 15th anniversary of lego star wars Quote
jimmynick Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 The Mos Eisley cantina really reminds me of the old set just expanded out with an entry area and possibly the band's section to play in, even with the same landspeeder. The new Dewback will be welcome though. Ditto. Ithorian!! I'm looking forward to that, too. Mos Eisley Cantina  This set looks amazing! I bet that Obi-Wan will be included, too (because of the Landspeeder). The landspeeder is disappointing - the last Luke + Obi-Wan speeder was in 2010 (so I suppose it is on schedule for a revamp) but my point is that I'd really prefer to have separate speeder and Cantina sets - then we could really have the Cantina as it was in the film, rather than as a pared-down booth with minifigs. Of course, that won't happen, but a guy can dream, can't he? Quote
The Legonater Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Honestly, the thing I'm most excited for here is an Ithorian. Finally an Ithorian! I never got the old Star Destroyer, so it's great to finally see a new one. I didn't get the old cantina either... but this one from what is shown doesn't look much better than that one. Which is surprising considering how old that set is. Quote
Brickadeer Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Thanks for the pics :) I find it interesting to see updated Snowtroopers with kamas and possibly new helmet molds. Plus, I never realized that there's a differnce between regular Snowtroopers and the Snowtrooper Commander. I'm not happy that the new Stormtroopers got leg printing, but it seems that this step was unavoidable. As for the Snowspeed, I hope for a new canopy. Given the price and the number of pieces, I wonder if the set will be based on the battle scene or the rescue scene (Luke and Han). Quote
legos486 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Ehh I think the battle of both is basically complete with the sets that were released in the last years Quote

Maybe a P-tower to make up in pieces I'm thinking? I'm thinking it will include Wedge and Wes, because we already have Dac and Luke. Quote
donbarca Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 It's not as if protocol droids are so rare in-universe that you can't find any place in an MOC for one in a different color. who wants the droid. is white boba fett not also in that picture?????? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Maybe a P-tower to make up in pieces I'm thinking? Plausible. The '99 Snowspeeder had a P-tower. who wants the droid. is white boba fett not also in that picture?????? White Boba isn't new; that's why we care more about the protocol droid. Quote

I'm thinking it will include Wedge and Wes, because we already have Dac and Luke. Well, the Snowspeeder in 75014 consisted of app. 206 pieces. Given that this number doesn't vary significantly, I wonder what can be done with app. 70 pieces. The whole P-tower thingy from 75014 consists of 71 pieces, so something of that calibre will be included. I hope it's not just another imperial speederbike. Quote

You forget, this won't be the 75014 Snowspeeder. I expect a good amount of difference between the two models. And with that, a difference with a P-Tower, should it include one. I also noticed that the ISD comes with an "Imperial Navy Trooper". Isn't that the same as a Death Star Trooper? If so, why doesn't it have the same name? Will there be a new figure under that name? Ki-Adi-Mundi Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Actually i would love to see the SWTOR line being continued. I don't play the online game but have found appreciation for TLG's incarnations of ships and people. Thus the Phantom as a representation of the ancient ingame ship with some unnamed characters would be very nice. While i don't need any more (different) snowspeeder, i believe it to be reasonable on the part of TLG to release another one with a ground gun and a few minis. Releasing the speeder and an AT-AT at the same time absolutely makes sense to me. Not every one (kid) is willing to wait for a year or even more until they get a 'complete' battle scene. For playing and starting to collect purposes, such climatic sets are supposed to get released simultaneously. This being said, i can only repeat how happy i am with the prospect to finally see a new ISD and Mos Eisley Cantina! Thank you TLG! Please keep the pricing in the range of the reasonable... Quote
Obi-wan Kenobi Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 (edited) I expect anxiously the new Snowspeeder (hoping that it has been improved) and the Mos Esley Cantine, because it seem to be wonderful since the uncomplete pic that we have looks very complete. I don´t know if this images have been already posted,if not, here they are,the images of the three new polybags: Edited January 3, 2014 by Jim Changed embedded media to deeplink Quote
Spyderlord Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Ok, here are my thoughts about the new wave: AT-AT - The most anticipated set (of which I need 3 for my Hoth diorama) prompted the biggest WTF for that 8129 rip-off. If the legs continue to resemble remotely to that 8129 disaster, it's another skip and bricklink in waiting of the cavegod's UCS. I don't understand if you need to draw it to TLG that they just need to copy/paste the 10178 design without the silly motorized marketing stunt and they'd be fine, so even if these are placeholders, it provokes sufficient ire to see again that 8129 calamity. ISD - I can understand that this set will make many people happy, but there again, if it's too similar to 6211 it's a pass for me. Not that 6211 was very bad per se (contrary to 8129) but it's a tricky design to reproduce in bricks and ISD, much as the SSD is all about details. If they decide to go a similar road as with SSD (which I doubt) putting a lot of nice greebles, doing proper angles etc. and doing it in smaller scale than 6211 with much more details, it could be a stellar success and I would buy it for sure. But as we all know the good ol' TLG with its grand kids-friendly policy, they will butcher this one as well rigging it with spring-loaded missiles, flick-fires and other play features at the expense of proper design. Mos-Eisely Cantina - Well, this is the set where they can scr*w-up the least, for it is mainly about minifigs, and TLG has been doing a great job on that front lately, plus the new dewback looks great so, even if I'm not that much into Tatooine sets, I'd probably grab this one to go with my 2010 Landspeeder. While transforming this new (wrong-colored again and utterly unnecessary) Landspeeder into a moisture vaporator plant as someone suggested earlier. Snowspeeder - Now this explains why a nice set such as 75014 got scrapped after the shortest run in the history of SW. A relatively expensive set compared to the upcoming set that wouldn't be profitable in further run and was apparently just a Hoth filler while waiting for an AT-AT rehash that will sound a charge of new Hoth-collecting (I am opening bets for a new Hoth base in 2015...) Rebels & other sets - Not much to say here, as we know nothing of the upcoming TV-show. That Ghost design looks like an interesting variant of the MF, so I'm curious about it, though I doubt I'll get into Rebels collecting. Very excited, as many here, about Ithorian mold, although as no good news can go without one WTF hand-in-hand, The (Disastrous) Yoda Chronicles continued?! Whyyyyyy?!?!?!? Why TLG, not even the kids like it apparently, that last ship didn't seem to have stellar sales, judging by the fact that shelves were always overflowing with it whenever I went in (whatever) store selling Lego? I think it would have made more sense to delve into EU then just rub our noses in with TYC again. And finally - I still am a firm believer that CW wouldn't get chopped just like that, we are still very much due Commander Cody, Bly and Wolff in Phase II armor. Quote

LoyalLegoCollector Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 It appears that we are getting an updated LSW Visual Dictionary for this years 15th anniversary of the theme. Chris12399 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Why are so many people judging the AT-AT as looking exactly the same as the previous one? I thought preliminary photos are "placeholders". Quote
