To be honest, although I am leery of suggesting another character given the frustration of some posters over the ambiguity and the subsequent debate, I'm most surprised that has not been more people suggesting Momaw Nadon as an option given the Ithorian mold's presence in the Yoda Chronicles set. Surely there are not many opportunities to use that mold and we are unlikely to get Momaw elsewhere? Of course the other front runner characters are more prominent in the scene, but from a mold usage point of view, Momaw would make a lot of sense.

I hope we get biths and I love disney!

and I hope we get a sandcalwer

and why do you guys not like the jek 14 coming back :classic:

Well where to even begin. There are these things called contracts that are negotiationed to which each, party agrees to. They determine a great deal including direction of lines etc. it's a collaboration in coming up with sets and its the licensee approving the final product. If you think that Disney says hey just make whatever you want, well that is just plain crazy.

Companies have these things called strategies, and their products reflect that. Honestly does anyone really believe that a company who paid $4 billion dollars for the Star Wars franchise is going to leave their fate to the decisions of another company?

All licensees play apart in what sets are produced. That's the way it works. It's no different if you went to a home builder and say build me a house. What you are saying the home builder could just do whatever they want because they know best.

I am not a huge Disney fan, it's just how things regardless if you like it or not.

Although I did post earlier explaining my thoughts on the Cantina Minifigure Debacle I find it strange that in the set description it only mentions Luke, Han, and Obi-Wan. Could it be possible that these descriptions are, just like the images we are analyzing, prelims? Although it says that the set will include 8 minifigures it only mentions three actual minifigures. In the pictures we see 8 solid minifigures, some resembling actual Star Wars characters, others not. Under the picture that most of us are talking about it says "+ 2 NEW MINIFIGURES" with two grey images. Could it be possible that these are in addition to the 8 we already have, making a total of eight? For the images of Ithorian Jedi Master next to this he has a full colour detailed picture. This shows that even if a minifigure is new or hasn't been made before, they still have a picture. Also if we look at the prelims we saw for all of the sets that were released earlier this year in in February for other countries all of the minifigures had actual pictures/drawings, even if they hadn't been made before. With this logic in mind I believe that those 2 NEW MINIFIGURES are actually additions to the 8 that already exist and it could mean that the LEGO company doesn't know what minifigures to include. I don't know how the LEGO Company works exactly but they may only be allowed to release a certain number of figures or use a certain number of new moulds in LEGO sets of a certain size. Especially in a theme like star Wars where each set usually has a unique or updated figure that can't be found anywhere else, usually forcing people to get that minifigure. With Chancellor Palpatine in the new Droid Tri-Fighter I doubt many people would buy it. I for one wouldn't as I have the 2010 version of the ship. I think that it seems odd that the prelims for the Cantina set would break tradition of not have actually drawings when it seems the TLG are more than capable of doing making them for every other minifigure in sets shown in the prelims for sets made/released this year.

I hope I'm right in saying that there are going to be 2 extra figures as that would mean we could have 2 Bith Musicians as well as the so called 'Cantina Trio' that is comprised of Wuher, Ponda and Evazan. I could be wrong but we may not know for a while now. The LEGO Group has been known to disappoint us in the past (Who remembers Padme's awful face in the Malevolence?) but they have also surprised us in good ways as well.

Although I have said that the set descriptions could be preliminary and not final, therefore not reliable sources of information, the description for the set 75049 Snowspeeder has in its description that it includes "stud blasters". This means that the Guns-That-Shoot-Studs are here to stay for the wave coming in later this year.

Just saw the new greedo on sale on ebay

Link? Source? Such claims without evidence are deemed poppycock until proven otherwise.

After looking at Ebay myself I found a Link to a Greedo minifigure that looks different from the one released in the original Cantina set. However the head looks identical the Rodian head used by Onaconda Farr and the printing and colours on the torso and legs looks sharper and darker. I think this might be a custom and I also don't know if it is the same one that ChiefPie saw. Here is the Link:

EDIT: The Seller of this minifigure also sells several other minifigures which appear to be very well made customs. I'm now certain that this Greedo is also a custom minifigure.

Thats a custom. The printing on the torso is identical to the 2004 Greedo, and you were correct in saying thats Farr's head.

I find it rediculous how so many people here think Disney has so much influence over what Lego does. Disney sells the license and would make a cut off the sales. I am sure the fact that the old republic sets are discontinuing has more to do with Lego than anything else. Lego's licensed sets are as profitable as the franchises are outside of Lego. I do not see the old republic has a popular line based on how the game fell below its benchmark.

Second, the fact that TLG would focus more on the OT may also have to do with the fact that more people are interested in the OT than before (thanks to an Episode 7). Do not think that a licensor, who is not a shareholder, can direct TLG to do what it wants.

Disney is not directing Lego to do what Disney wants. You guys need to get off the Disney bandwagon. Both Disney and Lego know that Lego knows best as to what will sell and how it shoukd be sold. Lego plans its sets in succession. It is not taking orders from Turkey, Disney, or Hezbollah.

Lego has outright discussed how much input Lucasfilm's has had in set decision making for the past 10 years. Some of the lead SW designers have given interviews talking about it. if I remember correctly the decision of what sets or types of sets to make is falls more or less around a 60/40 split. With Lucas telling TLG what they would like to see for about 40% of the sets and TLG having a free hand for the other 60%. (and that isn't fixed in stone. A year LF has a big project they may want more, some years they want less. Plus they set the overall tone for a wave. OT, PT, something new, or just a broad mix, etc) This way the wave or year ties into Lucasfilms overall marketing pushes and projects. and then further all licensed sets are reviewed and approved by the licensor who has a veto on everything. And they do carefully review every single detail. Just the colors used on certain figs can take several back and forths and test builds to get approval. There is no reason to suspect that Disney is not taking the same direct hand that Lucasfilms always did. It's still the same Lucasfilm's people managing the properties. They just draw a paycheck from Disney now.

Now if we start seeing Mickey Skywalker rescuing Princess Minnie Lego sets we will know that Disney has directly started making requests

@Spyderlord: Good god, you must have a lot of time and patience in your hands to reply to all those posts. :classic:

Generally, I hope that the mystery behind the cantina set gets revealed soon because it is getting boring having to read page after page of people wishing/speculating/hoping that we get ponda baba, wuher, etc or not.

Well, being unemployed does help you know  I hope that soon I'll have way less time to try and incite a debate of arguments on the forum where many people don't even read what others have written before and thus don't contribute to the quality debate. I said what I had to say about Cantina, I am not going to repeat it, but the only actually 'new' food for thought is the Phoenix_Phyre's last post. If the two shaded new Cantina minifigures do stand for two entirely new molds, why is an Ithorian Jedi of the set 75051 represented in full color image? To quote our favorite character: Very interesting... Either TLG already made the mold for him by the time retailer catalog was released (more probable) OR TLG hasn't yet reached a definitive conclusion on the Cantina set minifigures/price range (which seem a dream worth of Disney tales, but the one that will indeed perpetuate this discussion and guessing game for quite some time...)

For I absolutely stand behind the point I already made: TLG draws another line on a pre-existing figure's print, it'll be labelled new on the box. But in retailers catalog? Hmm... Missa smell new molds yet in design phase.

To be honest, although I am leery of suggesting another character given the frustration of some posters over the ambiguity and the subsequent debate, I'm most surprised that has not been more people suggesting Momaw Nadon as an option given the Ithorian mold's presence in the Yoda Chronicles set. Of course the other front runner characters are more prominent in the scene, but from a mold usage point of view, Momaw would make a lot of sense.

If I was the suggested poster, my frustration doesn't derive from the ambiguity and debate, more from people repeating stuff already said, and those who don't read the stuff already said or further those not being able to do additions to 10 (8, IT'S 8-8-8-8-8 minifigures, no extra 2,3 or 15! :classic: )

But the cherry on the cake is when someone's correcting someone on something or explaining something to someone that 14 previous posters have already done: I believe the birds on my window know by now that Wuher is called Wuher and not otherwise :hmpf_bad:

I had thought that initially too, but if they had the mold ready for the Yoda Chronicles picture, why not for the Cantina picture? I guess they may have not finalized the printing on the fig and didn't want to show it early, but my gut feeling is that we won't see Momaw for a little while.

I had the same thoughts with all the Clone Wars Jedi that came out- "With the molds readily available, it's only a matter of time before we get classic versions of Shaak-Ti, Even Piell, or Aayla Secura!"- and well, look where we're at now...

Under the picture that most of us are talking about it says "+ 2 NEW MINIFIGURES" with two grey images. Could it be possible that these are in addition to the 8 we already have, making a total of eight?

I assume that you meant "a total of ten". But didn't we see the actual description of the set that accompanied the photo, and it said there are 8 figures included? That's pretty unequivocal; I don't think they would have flatly stated 8 figs if they had plans for 10. And 8 figs is already a good amount for what is supposed to be a $70 set.

Darth Vader will be the next santa! :)

Did you see a picture of the advent calender somewhere? Is there a source?

Don't you guys think that maybe those two shaded mini figures belong to the "Star wars Rebels" sets? Because 8 mini figures would go over that right side of the catalog (refer to leaked picture), I believe it's the characters that we know next to nothing about and Lego are keeping them hidden until more rebels news is released I.e. And hopefully during the London toy fair or something rather.

Yep, I've seen the picture, but can't show it. He will have black helmet, modified torso and red cape. I can see that there will be also mini snowspeeder, rebel pilot and Tatooine Luke minifigure. It seems tahat it will also include Imperial Shuttle, white minifig (maybe clone), volture droid, 501st christmas clone, and minifig, which looks like general Rieekan.

Does Vader's helmet have a new shape? he really needs an update.
